I've been wanting one of these stock sets for a while now, not
because of the "OMFG THE SCREAMING EAGLES ON BAND OF BROTHERS
HAD THESE!!!!!" But because of the history and functionality.
Was a bit pricey but I'll only have to buy one. I know the rear
sight and bayonet lug aren't correct, but it's close enough and
works for me.

My dad is a retired police chief. When he started out the one
local PD still used surplus m1 and one m2 carbines, and they
retrofitted them with these stocks for the handiness. Used them
until they got ARs in the 90's, and liked them for their lack of
overpenetration in close quarters.

Yep. I got this one as a home defense/compact little thing. The
more I think about it, the more I want to take this hunting and
drop a deer. I'll use the 110 Grain Hydroshok rounds that
apparently mangle the shit out of big game. We'll see. Maybe
I'll eat my words.

i had a repo on a 1944 inland which was in the correct
year/block. However, the Italians who build the stock left way
to much material on the handguard; and you couldn't barely see
the front sight at close range because of it. Ended up selling
the stock and later sold the carbine to my brother.
