Stepped Barrel M24 Price Check
By: CLMI04 Date: September 24, 2013, 7:22 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
I'm going to be selling my Bohler-Stahl stepped barrel M24 soon
to fund another rifle. It's built on a 1917 Sestroryetsk
receiver, 1899 dated stock with Austrian capture marks and
interesting repairs, early bands, Finn matching, perfect bore,
NOT post-war refurbed, BUT missing the handguard :(. I was
thinking the $400 range. Does this sound about fair?

Sounds fair to me if I were a collector. Try it out, and if it
doesn't sell, just drop the price a few bucks at a time until it
does.

Cool. I guess I'll throw it up on the trader here and the other
site and see if it sells. I'm getting rid of it to pay for
another B-S M24 in better condition that's for sale locally.
That or a Finn'd 1897 Tula that's also for sale for the same
price. Haven't made up my mind yet. Hopefully Cpt shitgant and
Stopsign don't PM me about it.

There was a database posted on gunboards recently that shows
just how few of these are still around. I got lucky to get mine
cheap. Your price is in the ballpark but the handguard may hurt
it a bit. M91 handguards are going for over $100 on ebay now
when they pop up.

That's one of the reasons I'm choosing to upgrade. When I do
find M91 handguards they are usually birch and do not match my
rifle. That and the prices are too high. I added this rifle a
week ago to the database on gunboards. There's only about 200
Bohler-Stahl M24 SN's in Ole Fred's database.

yeah, Cpt Shitler will probably offer you minimum pricing
because he's a real American hero defending you from the
terrorists and evil doers at Bagram. What a twink.

Sold it for $375, not bad. It's about what I was expecting to
get. Now to fold the money into another Bohler-Stahl M24 with
Christmas tree and complete stock I found locally for $400.

Never mind not sold yet >:( The buyer flaked out and is now
ignoring my PM's. I'm still picking up the Christmas Tree M24
regardless. I post pics when I get it :) It also has almost no
bluing and lots of patina which I know Racerguy and I both like.
