My carry piece...the 1911A1

This gun is my pride and joy, something I hope I can give my son
before I croak having carried it for my entire life. This gun
started life as a plain-jane Springfield GI spec and what's left
of it now is the frame and slide, everything else has been
replaced by Wilson Combat and EGW, the highest grade
"bulletproof" and forged/milled parts you can buy. I learned a
lot on this build, bought parts two and three times as I ruined
one or two but it was a fabulous experience buying the parts,
the tools, and all the time in the garage.
The only thing I sent out for work was the ejection port
lowered, refinish and the front strap.mainspring housing
treatment, when it came back, Springfield custom shop had put in
a new barrel...n/c :o
Since the pics it now has a flat trigger installed. Future mods
will be Novak sights f/r and maybe be blued. I also want to
ditch the beavertail and go back to a standard grip safety.

That's a nice 1911, you say it's your carry piece but I don't
see any finish or rub wear?

That would explain it, no better way to get to know your gun
than to build it your self. For carry do you use 8rnd or 10rnd
magazines?

I only use 7 rounders, the Wolff branded ACT mags.
