M1889 Opportunity.

So I stopped by SportsmansGuide today, and they had a freaking
pristine Schmidt-Rubin M1889 on the wall for 387 bucks. Is that
a decent deal? I know about the low pressure loads and all that
jazz, I just wonder if I shouldn't snag that bitch up when some
School money comes in....What are you opinions/thoughts?

Well I see k31's going for about &300.00-499.00 so I would say
pick it up, but keep in mind I'm not an expert on these things.

We'll see how much money I get from Financial Aid. If it's
substantial, I might grab that bitch next week. This thing is
pristine, and I mean pristine. Looks like it was make yesterday.
They have a few others that look normal, but I was drooling when
I saw the one I want.

The engineering behind the straight pull rifles fascinates me.
Hope youre able to get it.

I know me too. It was really neat holding something that old. I
figure I'm just going to size down some 185 grain cast bullets
to .309, and use some data for the 30-40 krag and trim down some
Gp11 to 53.5mm. Ahh, Fuck, now I really want it....but don't
need it......but really love it and it's pristine.

Here is a thread for what it's worth on shooting the 1889. My
local Gander has some put the retards workings there wouldn't
listen to me when I told them they had the caliber labeled
wrong. I don't know if I'll buy one from them now. Anyways,
That's about the going price for them.
