Question about these Mauser Pouches
By: hashash Date: July 29, 2013, 4:16 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Anyone know what country these bitches are from? I bought them
to sell, they're in serviceable shape, I just have no idea
when/where they're from. They're all different too.

The one in the middle is quite larger than the other two. It
also has some writing on it. Any ideas?

Not sure, just a shot in the dark but might be Peruvian mauser
or columbian mauser?

Might have been completely wrong, could be ww1 German? If so
might be late war, no markings just getting them out the door,
would explain differences.

Original WWI German pouches didn't have the D ring for Y-straps.
They also held 3 stripper clips per cell instead of 2 like the
ones shown. I thought at first that one of them might be a
converted WWI pouch (they added D-rings to some during WWII in
order to recycle old equipment), but the interior shot disproved
it.

FUck it, I don't know. Maybe they're Turkish. I'm selling them
on a couple sites, I can get them cheap so why not try to make
some money on them?
Maybe I can get enough to rescue some more rifles from the local
gun shop lmao.

Sell them as "Fucking brown leather ammo pouches from some
damned country, but honestly if it was some country that
mattered we would have known, now pay me"
You're welcome ;)

I just got a few more of these today, and in one there was a
corner of a Ukranian Newspaper dated 8, October, 1958. I thought
the Ukranians used Mosins? These look like Mauser pouches. Gah.

Well when your in war, you need guns and the soviets captured
millions of mauser rifles and either put them in storage or gave
them away as military aid,so maybe post war Russian mauser
pouches? But then they captured millions of them to, so I don't
know? ??? Maybe they were scrubbed of former markings by whoever
got them?
