       Good eye; yes a 1920s springfield mark1 with 1942 barrel.

       Nice Mark 1 scant stock. Most of the ones I find around here are
       Greek returns with S stocks with those deep as shit stamped SN's
       on the butt. Your Navy Mark II knife is nice too. I have my
       Grandfathers from WWII sitting on a shelf. He carried it while
       he was a gunner on a Grumman Avenger on the USS Cabot in the
       South Pacific.
