1938 Tula PE top mount ex-sniper

I still check out the local refurbs when they are on sale and I
happen to be there. I can't help it. ::) Last year there was a
$149.00 sale but only one rifle on the rack. There were more in
the back, but they would only set out one at a time. That sucks,
but this was one I hadn't seen in person before so I grabbed it.
1938 Tula ex-PE top mount sniper. Round receiver PEs seem to be
far more scarce than the PEM side mount set-up. These show up
occasionally with dates reported into the 40's, but apparently
there are no production numbers listed for this variation
       produced in 1938 by Tula.
Typical refurb with stamps everywhere, forced matched with no
line-outs etc, in a post-war style stock. Great looking with a
nice bore and very few blemishes.

Here is a really good example of forced matched numbers without
line outs or electro-penciled numbers. The prefix has been
omitted, the fonts are not an exact match to the barrel serial
number, and the bolt for example, is an Izhevsk marked part.
