Airfix 1/72 B-17G "Flying Fortress"

Well then. Hello to old friends! I have been building regularly
since MilMod folded, but not blogging. I think it might be time
to blog. I don't know how well this will work on FB, but we can
but try!
It is an OOB build of Airfix's B-17G "Flying Fortress". I was
fascinated by this aeroplane when I was a nipper, mainly because
it bristles with machine guns! Of course, now I'm older I
realise that the primary role of a bomber is to drop lots of
bombs... and compared to the famous British heavies (the Lanc,
Halifax & Stirling) the B-17's bomb bay is teeny-tiny!
Here is the box art - as always with Airfix, it's rather fab,
and the box itself is very sturdy.

Have seen your other "big fours" I'm looking forward to this
one. Good to see Airfix making a bit of a comeback, plenty of
detail on them too which I'm sure you will bring to our
