       never ending mazda build
       By: e.stevens Date: April 22, 2014, 9:07 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
So I have had this 1987 mazda rx7 for almost 3 years now, back
and forth working on it trying to get it to be a solid car, but
after doing quite a bit of work it still lacked in the power
train, I had a ford 2.3 turbo boat anchor in it for the past 3
years now. reliable engine makes great low end power but
nothing up top, after the engine starting making some bottom
end noise at milan demo i decided to run it till it throws a
rod. After 6 months of daily driving the car with this bottom
end noise i decided enough was enough pulled out the engine and
trans and sold it all. In comes new swap
       - I dont really have any track or drift experience really ive
been to autocity and did milan demos but still working on
getting the hang of it all. Heres with the new engine comes to
play not trying to make a bunch of power just trying to get this
car to a reliable setup to where i can get used to it and
       comfortable with the car.

i dont have any rx7 rotary parts,
       -small update
but a few updates mostly just parts coming in xcessive
manufacturing just released a rx7 jz mount kit, before this
there was only 2 others offered tech2(1700$) and a mount kit
made in taiwan that was hit or miss. so i waited for these to
be released and ordered them that day just arrived which i will
be test fitting the engine in there asap i also picked up a w58
but still need to order a jz bell housing and clutch fork.

Why a 2JZ? That's gotta be the heaviest engine on the planet.
With transmission those things weigh 750lbs.

the main reason is parts availability is pretty good compared to
other engines, its a swap ive wanted to do since i got the car.
the weight factor will be something ill just have to get used
to. which seeing as my last engine was cast block and cast head
it is something i was used to from that setup. not trying to
       build a competition car here.

All you need to do for weight composition is a wide body with 12
inch rims, you will need it for traction anyways. Simple way to
fix weight, match really. Just go to a scale at a truck stop and
they can tell u weight of each axle. Even sub woofers or front
weight reduction will help. This motor is very powerful and will
move it very nicely. #haterz jk lol

And do you still have the 2.3 swap?
