this whole PRO2 this is risky. It may kill off the desire of
people coming up from the ranks. Like... fuuuuuck i gotta spend
$$$$ to do pro2 before i even get to FD....
we'll see, or it'll work out. W.e
interesting they're purposefully trying to keep FD to just ~32
drivers... That's what D1 did. They're kinda dying out. Not
enough fresh faces.....

I think that FD is already far too gone.. Too many people
knowing people.. (take the DA guys: Angelo used to be a judge,
while VGJR, JTP & Teurk were competing)
If you aren't sponsored by a tire company or an energy drink,
you will go nowhere. The cars look like sh!t (save for a few,
like Wicknick, Forrest, and Jeremy Lowe)
Rules and technicalities are total bullsh!t and change way to
often.
take Yashioka Vs Grunewald in 2011. Yashioka pulls backwards
entry phases Conrad, while 3mph slower entry than qualifying
speed. Gives hell of a chase run. Win goes to Conrad.. Fd
officials claim that Yashioka was slower than his normal pace on
entry thats why he loses.

Same event 1 year later. Same thing happens, except its Daigo
(who was getting his hand held by FD the whole time) enters
crazy backwards and JTP about drives into his cockpit, and spins
out. Daigo is 8MPH! slower on entry than his qualifying run..
On JTP's lead run he totally gaps him and leaves Daigo well
behind..
Daigo gets the win. FD officials claim its JTP's job during
chase to mimic Daigo.

same event, same circumstance, 1 year apart, 2 different
results. 2011-2013 absolutely killed FD for me.. I dont even
think ill be giving it a chance this year.. Maybe Pro2 (the
ProAM coupled events were more fun to watch anyway)
Just my opinion..

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I haven't been to a Nopi
event since 2002 so I wouldn't know.

The fact that you haven't seen a NOPI event since 2002 is
exactly my point.

OMG dont even get me started.. Denofa should've won ROTY in
2012, hands down. Daigo was NOT a rookie.
Also the kid kills it, and his car makes really cool noises.

I remember that yoshioka entry. At the time reverse entries were
all the rage... Still not sure how they can work those in with
tandem. Super awkward for the follower.

The whole "slow entry speed" thing is stupid anyways. The chase
car is supposed to follow the lead car. People whine too much.
They may as well not even go tandem if they can't follow a the
lead car.
And yeah, that Yoshioka thing, he definitely scrubbed off way
too much speed, but like tungm said, reverse entries were the
rage back then and that's what people wanted to see. Everyone
seems to forget that this "sport" is about pleasing the crowd.

Word. I love watching revere entries, but for competition I'm
not sure if it's appropriate. Honestly the guys running fd are
not as stupid as everyone thinks. I don't think they get enough
credit. I think this year should strike a good balance between
show and comp.
However still on the fence about the pro2 scenario. It may end
up hurting fd.
