The one you posted looks like it's aluminum to me. Why else
would the friction surface be riveted in place?

Knuckles.. I lopped a ton off like you suggested Russell.
Overall ball joint to tie rod distance is about 2/3 the
original.

Hoping to install them tomorrow and make sure the inner tie rods
are still the end stop. Also to make sure it doesn't overcenter
and give me the wobble of death.
A while ago the timing chain tensor went bad, so i plopped in a
new one. Took like 4 minutes. Satisfying as fuck. :yakubo:

Got the knuckles and the upper control arms installed. Maxed out
the camber. Looks kinda dumb

This is the angle change blue = new knuckles. Haven't been able
to eye-line it yet since the tie rods jam nuts are stubborn. So
the full detail will have to come after that. I just did some
math as an initial cut to understand wtf these knuckles are
going to do.

^This shows how the U joint in the i-shaft makes the rack travel
non linear.

^I know this is definitely wrong. I made some bad assumptions
when i did my simple arithmetic, but i'll work on that later i
guess. On center is pretty accurate. If the steering ratio
really is that flat it would mean I'm going to be turning the
wheel a lot in a slide. Ideally I'd want it to look like the pic
below. That way it wouldn't be crazy on center for highway
driving and super quick near lock.

Also for those who remember, I finally put about 5000 miles on
this thing since it blew it's turbos in Lincoln.

Nice GM camo helmet lol, your first few runs looked pretty solid
today. Were you having any issues with the car at all?

it was just funky to drive. Steering feel was too light.
Otherwise no issues, car ran great.
