Damn! It's taking forever... May cancel and just buy another set
of Battles.
Also thinking about pulling the car out of storage this weekend
and getting to work

Steering rack placement is what I hear.

Its more that the esp doesnt like to self steer based on
feedback from the front wheels. So my plan is to over power it
with alignment and steering knuckles that'll raise the steering
effort substantially. This will then hopefully allow it to
essentially force feedback like a normal hydraulic setup.
Its also not as bad as I though it would be. It needs lots more
steering angle though.

I didn't know that about the S2000. Some googling and I came
across this article
HTML http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/features/0410ht_drifting_honda_s2000/
GC: Originally, the car came with a system called EPS,
Electric Power Steering, which is speed sensitive. At higher mph
when you throw the steering wheel the system actually slows the
wheel down, so we pulled it off and used a hydraulic power
steering system. We measured the rack from a newer RX-7 and it
was almost a direct bolt-in replacement. The RX-7 rack also has
more steering angle and no speed changes in steering response.

Here are two samples of 3M vinyl I'm looking at for wrapping
this pig. Too bad they bookend 'breaking' blue. I'll probably go
with the darker one.

Test fit the diffuser, it's going to be tough to fit. The
exhaust muffler hits it, and it hangs so low in front it's at
the same height as the exhaust. That thing gets pretty beat up.
So it's not going to be a simple bolt on affair. I either need
to cut some of the diffuser out or just let it sit on the
exhaust. Then the front will essentially need a skid plate.

Max possible steering angle, before the knuckle bottoms out
against the lower control arm
[URL=
HTML http://s144.photobucket.com/user/Englshmadesimple/media/anglepossibleknucklemax_zps72cb0d34.jpg.html]
This is where I'd have to put the new tie rod end in. Which is
fine, the way the s2000 knuckles are made is I wouldn't need to
do any cutting, I could just drill and weld in a tapered hold
insert. Leave both the stock and super angle pick up points. I
haven't decided if I'm going to do this yet. I do have spare
knuckles, but the main problem is the steering ratio is already
so quick that it might be too twitchy or even dangerous on the
street going quicker... not sure yet.
S2000: 13.8:1
240sx: 17.0:1
FC: 15.2:1
If I trim the steering arm to 75% the new ratio will be
essentially a 10.25:1 which is faster than anything on the
road... the fastest I've found is the e92 M3 with 12.5:1. I need
to think on this one for a little while.

Unfortunately that's the least aggressive the next hole can
really be.
So for now the best thing to do is make steering rack spacers.
[URL=
HTML http://s144.photobucket.com/user/Englshmadesimple/media/rackinnertierod_zps4a2c5d9d.jpg.html]

The tie rods act as the bump stops, so just put a little spacer
in here. Get an extra 7mm of travel. Which doesn't sound like
much, but since it's at the end of travel when the knuckle is
already turned every extra X direction travel is more effective
than X travel near the steering center. This is an exaggeration,
but it gets the point across.

Then I got this awesome license plate frame. I've had a recent
need to get an AIM sidewider missile for decoration, probably
scale since they're 9ft long.

Did some work this weekend. Changed the valve cover and welded
on some tabs to mount the diffuser. As well as disassembled a
spare differential to weld up.

pulling the diff apart. I hate Torsens. This will be unique to
weld up. Going to weld the pairs of worm wheels together that
will lock the two halves together. Thus locked diff.
