I work at a jaguar dealership. Basically every Jag has
17/18/19"s. Most customers end up replacing at least 2 tires at
a time, sometimes all four if it's AWD... So if a jag comes in
with a nail or damaged tire I get the "used" ones.

The thing about used tires is you're paying for them to be
changed more often, you get less consistency, and how many laps
do you get on some shitty 5 year old Continentals with %20 tread
       life on them?
Sure, they are cheaper up front, but you'll either be paying
more for used tires in time or money.

       Man, you're not listening to a word I've said. I wouldn't pay
for 20% tires from my guy because he knows I always go to him
and he's cool as shit. I'm looking for a guy like that somewhere
out there. Being drifters, that really doesn't seem like it
would be such a hard thing to ask for.
I really expected this to be a bunch of "My guy John at ABC
tire, check him out" not a bunch of "you need to buy new tires"
It's like telling me I shouldn't buy a used car because the
maintenance will cost more than a new car. Used tires from the
right place are BY FAR a better deal than new tires. If you
don't know that, you must be new to this.

Fuck that sucks. It was $40 to ship four 17s to 48103 when I
       bought all my achilles

Federal stopped making the 595s I liked so I decided to try some
kendas. A friend of mine gets deals on the kaiser kr20s so I
bought 6 new 235/40s and 2 very lightly used 225/40s he had
sitting in his garage. First impression: they run wide. But
anyways I took them all to clubfr Dday 48/48.5 with me, started
off on the used 225s and SOMEHOW never changed a set all weekend
:o USAIR is a very smooth track, and it's all second gear,
but by the second day even the miatas were changing tires. I
must have done at least 50 runs, and certainly wasn't going easy
on them but they somehow survived all weekend ;D The 325
pitting next to me probably only had 200hp and went through at
least 8 sets of garbage used tires...
So yeah kendas are pretty magical. They don't make crazy smoke,
but definitely last forever. Ive only tried them on the back and
they might work well on the front also, but I'm too in love with
my nitto nt05s to find out
