E34 e39 540i input?

I keep seeing manual trans 540's pop up on craigslist for not
much, i dont think it would take much to make one into a drift
car, am i wrong?
Also is there swapability for the front lower control arms
between these and a 3 series? So i could use spl or wisefab
parts?

Suspension is completely different than a 3 series, front and
rear. Not even remotely the same. They almost look like they
come from two completely different manufacturers. 5 series also
uses a steering box versus a rack&pinion. Not saying you can't
drift one, but you're not gonna be finding much drift-specific
parts for it.
