Chicago has a pretty big drifting scene so I'll prolly be
splitting my time between Detroit and there, but making bank in
GR. Lots of work in my field.

Yeah chicago has a lot. Hey you western guys need to go to Gary,
IN or wherever they hold the Drift days. I'll post up the info
in a 2015 events page or something. Mike is right you guys are
close enough to latch onto the chicago events.
as far as the original topic. Yeah I mean people are going to be
making big power, but it doesn't really matter. Only 2-3 people
will have big power. Tight courses like Detroit also kill any
power advantage. They're also going to struggle following the
rest of us peasants with crazy speed and power. But the real
question is why even worry about trying to compete with those
guys. Let them do their thing, there are 16 spots for
qualification... so if you want to tandem you can make it in
with stock power no problem. If you don't qualify then do tandem
practice after the comp.
If you're looking to get a pro2 license then yup it sucks. You
have to have power. That's what is going to be expected from you
at that level.

I think the competing aspect of drifting is kind of dumb.. I
mean, you bust your ass and your bank account to go slide next
to someone else, all for 3 dudes to be like, "he did better bro"
No thanks..
Also i think a lot of these rule changes are seriously dumb.
Like how s13's cant have s14 rear subframes...
BUT! Fredrick Aasbo can have a rear wheel drive TC. seriously..
what?
I only care about grassroots stuff nowadays.

I LOL'd pretty good at that cause that's pretty much how I see
it but everyone seems to want to compete and sht and be #1 and
all that so I don't even know what to say. Guess I'm just trying
to go with the flow cause all I know is I want to be able to
drift every weekend at every track just fckin everywhere. If the
only way that can happen is with a bunch of jerk-offs trying to
be #1, well guess that's just what I gotta put up with and I'll
have to bite my tongue.
And yeah, that Scion - I just look the other way when it rolls
up to the start line.
