       Personality: Serious and no-nonsense, Laz is a goal-oriented and
       pragmatic but somewhat grumpy young man. Feels responsible for
       keeping everyone on task and not that interested in making
       friends, but also makes it a priority to solve problems, not
       cause them. Appears to have a distinct aversion to anything
       cute.
       Skills/Talents: Laz is a superlatively skilled swordsman, and
       his weapon of choice is a deceptively simple-looking magitek
       sword. While it appears to be an ordinary blade at a casual
       glance, it's a magitek marvel he's spent most of his life
       creating and fine-tuning, equipped with an incredibly sharp
       chip-resistant blade, perfectly balanced, and capable of storing
       the force of a parried blow to release later. Laz's magical
       training is focused almost entirely on glyph-crafting; by
       creating a magical rune on a tool, clothing, or other inanimate
       object, Laz can create a dormant spell that can be awakened by
       drawing on his magical energy. Various buttons on his shirt have
       been inscribed with defensive glyphs, letting Laz burn magic to
       protect himself, while his favorite scarf has glyphs of speed
       and lightness woven into it to improve his mobility. Glyphs
       can't match the spectacular power of ordinary spellcasting, but
       they can let Laz layer on small but useful powers he can devote
       anywhere from no to all of his magic to as he needs.
       Bio: Lazarus "Laz" Windlass is another official soldier included
       in the Aethros expedition force, although he was assigned his
       role rather than taking it on voluntarily. Laz has always been
       esteemed in Aethros's small military for his responsible nature
       and tremendous skill in swordplay. In private, however, Laz has
       never been particularly popular due to his perception as a
       stiff-necked grump who hates fun and doesn't let other people
       relax when there's work he wants done. Lazarus doesn't let this
       bother him; he lives life focusing on what must be done next to
       succeed, and prides himself on not getting distracted from
       keeping others on task. He did not particularly want to be on
       the expedition force, but he recognizes the honor he's being
       shown and the awesome responsibility he's been trusted with, and
       as always has devoted himself to carrying out his orders
       perfectly.
       Unfortunately, he doesn't think too much of the civilians he's
       been assigned to in order to get this job done. At least the
       esteemed General Kay is going to be with them, but Laz notes
       that even the General is taking things a bit lightly. But if
       this company needs a martinet to get the job done, Laz is
       willing to be that guy if it saves his home.
