       Name: Alecto
       Age: 30
       Gender: Female

Personality: Kind to her tribe, but aloof and serious. Hates
technology and doesn't trust anything she can't feel magic from.
Skills/Talents: Alecto, like many of those in her tribe, is no
longer exactly human from the long exposure to the mists.
Alecto's biology means she can survive without water for a long
time and doesn't seem to need much sleep, although in
compensation she needs to eat more than a regular person. Her
body is almost entirely heatproof, which lets her use her
incredibly potent fire magic to an extent that would be suicide
for a mere human. She even infuses her body with flame, which
seems to strengthen rather than harm her.
Bio: When the mists encroached a thousand years ago, two warring
nations were faced with an ultimatum; put aside their
differences and work together, or take their chances with the
impending apocalypse. Many chose the former, but Alecto is
descended from the mages who refused to join hands with
technicians even to try and survive the mists. Without the
safety of the floating islands, many years of suffering and
death followed for those that stayed behind, but as one
fractured generation gave away to the next, the population
managed to stabilize before extinction could claim them. The
Visnak clan is a small tribe of mages that are all that remains
of a once-mighty nation, but their pride is undiminished and
their magical power is, if anything, enhanced from their long
       trials in the mists.
Alecto is the latest leader of the clan, an easy choice due to
her tremendous magical power and steady leadership. Gifted from
a young age in the arcane arts, Alecto has always been admired
for her strength and her stoicism, as well as the hints of a
warm heart behind an often-impassive face. Alecto takes her
duties as leader very seriously and treats even the pettiest of
problems within her clan as deeply important to her. As an
enemy, however, Alecto has been ruthless and determined, holding
on to the same unyielding hostility towards the Vesoi Collective
as her ancestors did when they chose to risk oblivion rather
than trust in technology. Alecto believes the old teachings that
only mages have souls; she has compassion and curiosity for
things of magic, and only things of magic.
It should be a simple life, leading the clan on the basis of
loving your tribe and hating your enemy, but Alecto silently
shoulders some problems of her own. The sacred minerals her
people have long used for rituals of health and harvest are
beginning to run low, and replacing them would require too long
and too dangerous a journey for Alecto to safely entrust to her
subordinates. Without resupplying, however, Alecto fears that
       life will go back to how it was in the early days of the mists;
widespread sickness and death and one crop after another failing
until starvation finishes the job the miasma began. Not knowing
what else to do, Alecto has taken a particularly hostile policy
towards the Vesoi of late, raiding them relentlessly in the
hopes of taking their own mineral supplies for her people until
she can figure out what to do.
