       Personality: Gung-ho and friendly, but impatient. Matilda has a
       good mind but doesn't look before she leaps as often as she
       should and doesn't have a lot of time for people who annoy her.
       For the people that don't try her patience, however, she can be
       quite compassionate and curious.
       Skills/Talents: Matilda's magical specialty is manipulating
       light. It's not particularly useful in conjunction with her gun,
       which she's fair but not amazing with, but she can use it to
       fire illuminating or blinding rays, and on its own she can
       create small, short-lasting illusions or make things glow. For
       all her other needs, she tends to improvise with a large
       grab-bag of magitek items she carries around somewhat
       haphazardly everywhere she goes. Matilda's studied magical
       theory extensively and likes taking things apart and putting
       them back together, so she's familiar both with the workings of
       machinery and advanced spellcraft, even if she can't do the
       magic herself.
       Bio: Matilda's from a rather well-to-do family, but she's been
       an unconventional child from the start. From a young age, she's
       been very curious, trying to study up on everything she can, but
       her impatience often got her into trouble as a result. Still,
       Matilda's smarts and ability to improvise have gotten her
       through life so far, and her curiosity has made her both a
       well-read if eclectic scholar and an amateur adventurer. Her
       name came up almost immediately when the expedition was
       suggested, and Matilda volunteered eagerly, eaten up with
       curiosity about the surface...even if she's unhappy her team is
       stuck with Arvec, who she thinks of as A Bad Sort.
