Looks like i'm just a few key quests away from G-Rank. Exciting
times! Can't wait to meet things like Savage Deviljho after
beating the normal one the other day for the first time.
Hoping to have a chance to do some of the key quests online as
that'd be quicker and more fun.

Well good luck!!! G rank is the "nitty gritty" of the game and
you want to get to it relatively quick coz like you say all the
new monsters are there. If you need help my NNID is Andrew258.

Here's an early welcome to G rank. I'm going to get through G
rank again, but with a different weapon. So far, the results
have been pretty well.

I did it last night...i failed once, due to lack of water res,
but once i gemmed up for it, all went pretty well.
Barroth U armour
Dios Blade GS
A bunch of bounce bombs and at least 3 uses of the Dragonator
did the trick, i think...
Looking forward to the REAL game now! And thanks for the NNID,
Andrew...i'll hopefully have some time to do multiplayer soon
and take you up on it!

Thanks! Have had my bottom handed to me a few times now in
G-Rank...i think getting level appropriate gear is going to be a
challenge!

I've always suggested players simply grab the advanced Yukumo
Sky armor from the shops and level it all up when they're going
through their first time. Okay defense, no really low
resistances to worry about, and you can save your parts up for
weapons instead of grinding for "better gear" before G. I used
the Sky armor all the way through HR 8 quests, and only worried
about changing it out when I started going for Super Brachy. The
divine blessing and speed sharpening give you a few free oopses
and you don't have to time sharpening down as much, leaving you
freer to learn how best to outmaneuver their attacks. With 4
slots and a talisman, you can easily get one or two more skills
on the set, too. I always used a Speed Setup +6/Bombardier +6,
which worked great with my slime hammer (and bombs; I like
bombs).

Thanks for the tip...i'll give that a go! I've been grinding a
bit for Ivory Lagi armour at the moment, nearly there...but i
always like to have a few sets for different jobs.
