HBG is still at the top though I am tentative to use it in 4. I
gotta play around and see what happens with it's ammo
constraints. If it's not that, Lance or GS

It's a toss up. I've gotta go with GS, though. Been using it
since the original Monster Hunter. I think it has great
versatility. IT swings slow, so I come in when I think I'm safe,
get in a hit or two, and roll away before getting hit. Not to
mention, it's good for hunting ground, and sea monsters, so
that's a big plus for me.

Gunlances are my favorite to have fun with (Lightning Blaze for
the win), but I love most weapons. My best and most-used are
Great Swords, followed by Dual Blades, Bows, Lances and Long
Swords. Did a bunch of Hammer in Tri but haven't much touched it
in 3U. Never been terribly good at Bowguns, though. I used a
Medium for a while in Tri as well, but I think the lack of the
customization that Tri had kinda turned me off (I know they did
the whole Power Barrel, Silencer, Shield, Limiter thing but it
just doesn't feel the same).

Easily the Hammer, so simple, so strong. Just learn the
Monster's patterns and Triplepound/Superpound the head away.
Cutters will love you if you can get at least 2 KO's off in
Grank, which is easy especially with Grongigas Swag strats.

I LOVE the sword and shield. It's so easy to learn and dat
block doe. However after 350+ hunts with it, I find myself
getting bored with it. So I've really liked using the hammer
recently. The knockout is so satisfying and I think it's my new
favourite weapon. Although I do come back to the SnS
occasionally and I find it fun for a couple of hunts, then I
just get bored again and pick up the hammer. Good question,
just hard to answer since I learned every weapon bar the HH.

Well I use every weapon, but my favorites are Switch Axe and
Gunlance.
Switch Axe has this crazy destructive and smooth style that I
love, but the Gunlance is basically a man-sized tank! The
feeling of the final hit being a WyvernFire to the head is sooo
satisfying... But on the other hand, a Switch Axe has the
infinite Hack & Slash that i can use to stun lock G-rank
monsters!
Aside from that, I use DS, Hammer, HH, GS, LS, SnS, Bow, and
HBG.

Yeah, I'm a hammer user. I'm familiar with all of them, because
dang it, hammers can't cut tails lol. Even though they aren't a
primary choice for status effects, when playing solo (and
especially hammering Moga Woods) I love taking Plegia Fantasia
with me. Two KOs and several paralyzes is nice against any
monster.
In MH1, I used to practice taking Breath Core against Rathian.
When all the lancers had headlocking, I had "Smash her face in
when she charges." It was very fun, and considering old
Breathcore was enough to stutter Ian in one face-hit, also very
empowering. Being able to place the hammer's charged moves
without sending allies flying is also satisfying, though in a
different way... and let's face it, not as fun as actually
watching them fly. ::)
