       Hey, the forum is back with Kingfisher in pole position as
       usual.
       Regarding sluggish turnover, I installed a high torgue starter
       from Moss. The old starter was like me getting out of bed on a
       Sunday, very slow and lethargic. But now it is on steroids. I
       may invest in another

       That's interesting Jim, didn't realise there was an appreciable
       difference. Certainly MGC's are notorious for starting and the
       hardest to turn and start car I have ever owned. Sluggish
       turnover particularly on the old archaic 6 volt batteries. .
       When I was a nipper, I had a BRG MGCGT back in the seventies,
       and whilst I was working in an engineering company, I had to
       start and run it every lunchtime, in order to stand a chance
       when I finished at 5. Everyone  continued to use the 6V
       batteries at that time as there didn't appear to be any other
       option.
       As I said earlier buy Bosch.

       Yes, there was a huge difference in turning the engine over, but
       that was probably caused by a bad starter in the first place.
       There was a big "clunk" when starting with the new high torque
       starter. I assume it was the gears meeting up for the first
       time. No noise since. Oh joy !
