Chopping wood for Winter

woods close to The farm... they had already started working
Bubba ran fingers along the new sharpened axes choosing one and
slung it over His shoulder …. the men spoke of Bubba's Woman..
he laughed “don't talk to loud She’s nay far away.. .. as the
mini wanna be Torvie stood, the Axe bigger then him … Bubba
snorted pointing to the smaller Man “someone get him a play Axe
, one that will fit...”.. and Bubba Then slid off His tunic...
muscled rippled... formed from years in the Spar pit and
hunting.... the claw marks teased His shoulders as the tunic was
thrown to the log...

log On The chopping Log, then raised the Axe ….His shoulders
rolled bringing the axe down to hit the wood from left to right,
as shards bounced through the air.... tugging the axe free to
thrust it forward once more….
The constant chopping started to form a V shape with every
strike.. chips of wood fell to The Ground.... one of the other
Men sung a tune... As the chips fell from The Log and landed on
the dirt..

I watched as the girls stacked the logs... Bubba and The Men
continued working... Bubba sucking in a breath as He stopped to
watch the girl allowing His body to cool…
I stood and moved over towards the men and Began to gather the
shards ..
... Men can be seen at the dry docks repairing ships ...

another log...swinging the Axe in a arc... it hit sticking in
the log and tapped the blade in it till the timber broke….
I continued to gather the chips .... My tunic was full as I
moved to one of the barrels and tipped the chips in to the large
barrel ready to Transport to the fire

watched as the men worked hard.... And stopped and took a sip

I had now many a piles of Chips added to The barrel.... Making
the wood ready for the family.... I began again to empty the
contents of My tunic....again and again in to the Barrel.... It
amazed me how quickly it filled
I then Looked up and saw the bondmaid moving towards The men and
myself ...."talan " was called out as you appeared One of the
men shook the barrel settling the chips making More room for
More chips.... I wiped my Brow and continued I would stay with
these Men till they were done....

and kept for the Hearths about the village....with winter coming

Trees That are Cut I will be using for My New Barn..." I paused
"Now the small clips That are Not any good for anything But
starting the fires Up well they are collected placed in those
Barrels" she pointed to the Barrels..."they are stored in those
barrels and transported back to the Village ....for all to take
what they need....every hut needs some of that kindle to start
there own fires.....So you can see How it is Important Yes?"
