Just read a dreadful review on Matt Cardle
'With every release Cardle is understandably under a lot of
pressure to deliver, and it's just a real shame that his third
album album, Porcelain, doesn't really hit the spot. The ten
songs featured on the album are generally faceless and devoid of
       much character.'

Please help me defend his album Porcelain!!
The ten songs featured on the album are generally faceless and
void of much character. We love Matt's enthusiasm but his
material is awfully dry and out of touch.
It would be wrong to group Matt Cardle with the other male
winners of The X Factor. He’s without a doubt surpassed the
efforts of Leon Jackson and that awful Brookstein fellow. Cardle
is always quick to note that his previous album, The Fire,
wasn't the flop most critics deemed it to be. Hey, it charted in
the top ten and sold over 60,000 copies – it didn't sound half
       bad either.
With every release Cardle is understandably under a lot of
pressure to deliver, and it's just a real shame that his third
album album, Porcelain, doesn't really hit the spot. The ten
songs featured on the album are generally faceless and devoid of
       much character.
Songs such as album opener ‘In Chains’ and title track
‘Porcelain’ are soppy and mushy. It must be said that Cardle's
incredible vocal range is not under fire here - that guy can hit
some notes. Second single ‘When You Were My Girl’ may sound
completely dated, but at least he’s got a smile on his face.
The best song on the album goes to the sensational duet with
Melanie C, 'Loving You'. Although this may just be down to
Sporty Spice’s abundance of personality and energy rather than
Cardle's input. He probably should have kept her about for the
       other nine tracks.
It's easy to find faults in the tracks on Porcelain but it’s not
all hopeless. ‘Hit My Heart’ isn't completely terrible and we
would even go so far as to say that ‘This Trouble Is Ours’ is
actually quite good. When Matt can attach himself to a good
hook, he sounds great; there’s just not that many of them on
Porcelain. ‘This Trouble Is Ours’ is the kind of song an
acoustic singer-songwriter takes years to write. In short, it's
       a pretty good song.
But it's easy to pick these out as highlights when the rest of
the material sounds so dry and out of touch. We love the
enthusiasm however, and think Matt could sing any song and any
genre he wanted to. Perhaps next time he’ll pick the right one.'
