Looking for a Favor?

Near the Garden District stands a large hotel: The Hilton. From
the outside, it looks the same as any regular Hilton Hotel
would. However, once inside, the guest are greeted by a young,
male bellhop. For every guest, the bellhop speaks in the same
optimistic tone, so much so that it eerily reminds some
customers of a broken record continuously going through the same
track.
"Hello, welcome to the Hilton Hotel! We hope you have a long
visit!"
The lobby is quite large, consisting of gold and silver colored
carpets, fine, expensive chairs, and polished wood tables. As
the guest come to the check in area, they will find an old,
lanky man behind the counter. When the man looks up from his
book to see the customer, if they are of age, he immediately
asks:
"Are you here to stay the night or for the lounge?"
If the customer wishes to stay, he will mark them a room and
hand them their key. But if they wish to see the lounge, he
points down a long hallway to his left. When the guests enter,
they see this:

In one of the chairs, sits a blonde man in a black suit reading
"The Praise of Folly".

A small waif of a woman enters the lounge, he head tucked
downward, casting her black hair over her eyes in large, fat
ringlets. She mumbles to herself as she seats herself next to
the gentleman, and the rope scars around her wrists are quite
evident against her pale skin.
"Whooooooo are yooouuuu?" She asks in a quiet, light voice,
reminiscent of children's fairy tales.

The man does not answer right away, as he too focused on
finishing the paragraph he is on in the book. When he finishes,
he looks up at the girl, his blue eyes entrancing. He looks her
over nonchalantly then gives a slight smile. He closes his book
and extends out his hand to be shaken.
"Good evening. I'm Lloyd Pyrrus. And you my dear?"

The fem tilts her head sideways, large grey, almost black eyes
peer out from her hair. "I followed a little white rabbit here.
Told me that you make big plans in big ways." She chuckles.
"Have you ever seen the inside of a mirror?" She looks towards
an empty glass on the table. She picks in up and peers through
the bottom. "Looks a bit like this, only redder, and more sad."

Lloyd is taken aback by the woman's strange speech, but doesn't
show to be very phased by it.
"Aren't you the mysterious one. Tell me, what is your name young
lady?"

The fem barks out a cold, bitter laugh. "Young?! Pretentious and
pliable!" She uprights herself. "What's in a name? Power to
control? Some sort of familiarity associated to a person you
don't know?" She laughs again.
"I can't explain myself, sir, I'm afraid, because I'm not
myself, you see." She peers into the male's eyes. "If everybody
minded their own business, the world would go around a great
deal faster than it does."

The man does not shift his gaze for a moment and looks intensely
into the woman's eyes.
"Perhaps that is true. But if one does not attempt to learn of
others and their ways, than is it not true that ignorance would
run a muck?"

"I quite agree with you. And the moral of that is: Be what you
would seem to be, or if you'd like it put more simply: Never
imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear
to others that what you were or might have been was not
otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to
be otherwise."
The fem nodded her head as if she had stated a fact of life.

The man begins to laugh aloud but quickly regains his composure.
"That is a quote from Alice in Wonderland! The Duchess if I'm
not mistaken. Good show."

"Show? I don't understand..." The female looks confused for a
minute, before shrugging the words off. "Why are you here?" She
asks the male, genuine curiosity in her voice.
