Appearance
Roy Donovan usually dresses, even for show time, as a typical
bystander. He usually wears blue jeans, a t-shirt, and a light
jacket. Occasionally, Roy wears a Homeless Devils headband from
his previous days in the band.
Personality
Roy Donovan is a laid back individual who enjoys the time he
gets to spend with others. Whether you’re rich or poor, foreign
or native, beautiful or ugly, Roy treats everybody with the same
upbeat attitude that he uses when he’s up on stage giving a
performance. As many could tell you, Roy likes helping people
and if you might need something, from a little cash to get by to
needing a place to hide out, he’ll get it to you without asking
much in return. But beware: those who have tried to use him in
the past haven’t had very pleasant futures.
History
On July 21, 1983, Roy Donovan was born to his financially poor
parents Steve and Rachel Donovan in Ennis, Texas. His mother,
Rachel, died in child birth leaving Roy to be raised by his
negligent and alcoholic father. Since a young age, Roy had
always been greatly interested in the creative arts and
learning, most specifically music. At the age of six, Roy picked
up the guitar and mastered playing it nearly a year later. His
father, an opportunist, began to push his son in to playing for
money on the street after school. When Roy told his father that
he would rather spend his time in afterschool activities like
band or choir, his father savagely beat him and forced Roy to
continue playing for money. This continued for another six years
until the fall of 1993 when Roy made up his mind to run away to
New Orleans, Louisiana. Once there, Roy found himself with
nowhere to go until he met a three other homeless children who
had made a home out in a nearby forest. The children soon became
like a second family to Roy so, really never having what would
be considered a real family, he took it upon himself as the
oldest of the group to take care of them. Whenever one of them
would get sick, Roy would break in to a pharmacy to get them
medicine. Whenever they needed food, he would mug a person if he
was short on funds to get them something. This put him in
trouble with the law more times than not, but he would almost
always get away because he planned ahead and set traps, decoys,
or escape routes before he attempted anything. However, the few
times he was caught, the police would place him in a foster home
to which he would always escape from. July 22, 1998 late at
night, Roy was playing for money on the streets and was
discovered by music agent, Charles Walker, who told him that he
could make him big. Believing that this could help him and his
friends, Roy signed his name with Charles. Though he met with a
rocky start, due to his multiple offenses, Charles helped him
get them dismissed. However, in order to have the offenses
dismissed, Roy would have to spend a year in a juvenile
correctional facility. Roy agreed but told Charles that he
needed to go tell his friends beforehand. Unfortunately, when he
returned to his family, the police had already arrived, taken
the children into custody, and took Roy to away. During his time
in juvie, Charles told Roy while visiting that he had called the
police because he thought the other children would hold him
back. While Roy was discontent about this, he knew that it was
probably for the best that they finally live normal lives.
However, he still felt as though he failed them and that he
abandoned them. Once released Roy started playing at bars and
nightclubs. Though he was hit, Roy soon found himself addicted
to drinking as a way to kill off his pain of losing his friends.
Charles tried to stop Roy from drinking but, when he found that
Roy was completely addicted, left him. However, Roy’s fame still
rose and was offered a contract on March 20, 2001 to sign with
Louisey Records. Roy signed and made the heavy metal band
“Homeless Devils”. The band was a success and became close
friends, eventually to the point that his band mates concern
about his drinking finally made Roy put down the bottle.
However, on November 30 2006, the band broke up because of a
fight Roy had with one of his friends over a woman, Roy didn’t
get the girl in the end. After the break up, Roy became heavily
dependent on drugs, cocaine, smack, etc., as a means of trying
to forget his past failures. During this time Roy thought long
and hard about his future and entered rehabilitation on June 1,
2008. Six months later, Roy finished his rehabilitation and made
his solo gig “Hired Alcoholic”. Though this gig didn’t do as
well, he felt as though he had finally found some peace of mind.
Due to misfortunate happenstance, Roy has now been vampirized
but continues his life as normal, mostly because of his night
time life style. Roy is currently looking for another place to
start up Hired Alcoholic.
