Absinthe returns with a drink for Sparrow, then smiles as she
side steps and curtsies, a custom that those who know her well
know as being the start of her show.
She prances to the modest stage, and takes the microphone.
"Oh! Someone fixed it! Well, fancy that." She bows her head and
takes a deep breath. "Hello everyone, and welcome to the
Whirling Dervish's grand reopening! My name is Absinthe Bellamy,
and I will be your entertainment for the evening. I'm going to
start you all off with a cute little song that I picked up just
recently. This one's called, 'Make Me Cry."

As she sings, it is apparent to those watching that there is
something behind the bubbly exterior, something that she does
well at hiding, and that forces it's way out when she preforms.

Sarah watches her daughter with a smile on her face, but her
eyes are full of pity and sorrow. Jessika, who came in the door
as Absinthe took the stage, stands in the back of the room,
holding herself with a similar expression. As the song
concludes, the Nos pulls herself together and makes her way up
to the couch were Sarah, Marcus, and Kay are sitting.
After Jessika approaches, Sarah kisses her cheek and scoots over
to make room. Their eyes meet and Jessika notices the look
hiding behind her companion's eyes, and gives her hand a tight
squeeze. The two then redirect their attention back to the
stage.

Kay sits there and listens politely and sympathies with the
deeper feelings that Absinthe gives off in her music.

Absinthe ends the piece, takes a small curtsy and speaks into
the microphone. "Well then, let's start this shit off right,
shall we? How about a story! Anybody have any requests?" She
looks around the room and waves her hand out for the crowd to
speak. "Come on guys, I know you all have some favorites, and I
love telling stories, so lemme see what you all want to hear!"

Sparrow speaks up from where he stood by the bar. "How about The
Butterfly and the Hurricane?"

"Well, Mr. Sparrow, looks like Momma got first call, but I'll
tell the Butterfly and the Hurricane in my next set, sound
good?"
Absinthe pulls up a stool and takes a seat. "That's better." She
fits the microphone into the stand and adjusts it to her size.
"Well then, before I begin I'd like to thank everyone for coming
out to see us. This story is called "All The Pretty Little
Horses"."
Once upon a time, there was a fair prince, beautiful and
terrible to behold. With just a glance he made women weak in the
knees, and a few kind words once made a woman weep and tear at
her hair.
One day, he took it upon himself to find a mate. He found a
princess, but she was cruel and hateful of all things beautiful,
for she herself was hideous in her soul. He tried to love her,
he really did, but the day came when he had to say goodbye, for
the anger the princess held in her heart was too much for his
kind soul.
After long searching, he met a siren, beckoning men to their
deaths upon the rocks on the shore. He fell in love instantly,
but not with the siren's song, but with the pain he saw in her
eyes. He brought her into his bedroom, and bedded her, and in
the morning the siren awoke to find that she was now a princess.
She wept at herself, for the pride that came with royalty was
more than she could bear, and she began to hate the prince for
what he had done to her. Every night she sang to him, and every
night he raged, and yelled and screamed at her to end her song.
One night, after she had brushed out her long hair, the siren
turned to the prince and sat him upon the edge of their marital
bed. 'My love, I have prepared a song just for you.' She said to
him, her eyes full and brimming with love. The prince nodded,
unaware that the siren hated him so.
The siren began to sing, pouring every pain and agony she had
felt from the night she was crowned, until now. The prince tore
at his skin, wept and tried to force his way out of the door,
then the window, but found that the siren had locked and bolted
them. He screamed, and bled, and finally fell silent, dumb, and
colorblind, staring at the wall of the wedding chambers.
Finally the siren finished her song, and realized that she had
driven the prince mad. She fell to her knees and all of the love
she had once felt for him came pouring from her throat, but it
was too late. No proclamation could save him.
You're wondering if he lived, aren't you? Well, he did. But not
in in anyway shape or form the happy life he used to know. Every
night the siren sings the song, but not to punish him. To punish
herself. And every night he drowns his sorrows in wine, just to
feel something."
Absinthe finishes the story, and stares at the ground for a
moment, as if to signify the end of the piece. Then, without a
word, she stands and walks off of the stage.
A waitress comes up and claps for her, then tells the crowd that
the next set will be in thirty minutes.
((Oh my god my fingers hurt.))

As Absinthe walks away, Sparrow steps up and calmly joins her.
Once he knows she can hear him, he speaks gently. "Elegant,
beautiful, and tragic. Very well done, my dear. Care for a
smoke?" before she replies, he pops a cigarette in his mouth and
makes for the door.

Sarah watches them go as tears well up in her eyes. Jessika
notices and wipes them away before the blood stains her cheeks.
"Vhat's wrong", she asks in a hushed tone.
"I, um", Sarah tries to say but falters,"I hadn't expected that
story."

Absinthe follows Sparrow outside, and sits down on the pavement,
pressing her back against the wall. "It feels good to be
preforming again. I hadn't realized I missed it so much."
