as she walks past him, the old man hesitates. his anger visibly
subsides when she walks past and he mumbles something about "old
friends". with his hand already on the door he turns to his
neice and mumbles something about wanting "to see how this goes,
last time it ended with fireworks" (this is only audible with
auspex)
he silently returns to his tea and book, only now with a very
subtle smile.

Marcus gets up from the table. After hand the feathers to the
young female.
" Have a nice day."
He notices the spunky 17 year old and smirks. He makes his way
towards her. As he makes his way towards her he grabs a near by
broom. He stops and looks at the girl with a serious look on his
face. He hands her the broom.
" Your late.....but then again that does not surprise me with
you. "
He then smiles and gives her a hug and looks at her.
"How have you been Kay? Its been a very long time."

Kay stands up and gives him a huge hug back. *you can hear a
slight wince when she hugs you*
"well what can I say, this place is very low key, not many
people know it. I heard about it from a Child of Gia my age. She
has a slight obsession with the Occult like me. how have you
been? this place is nice, im kind of getting flash backs."
she laughs nervously, you can tell that she has been very
worried about her friends and finally seeing one again is kinda
like a dream. she has rehearsed what she was going to say to you
a million times, but words seem to fail her right now. So she
simply smiles and gives you another hug after you answer
her.*slightly wincing again*
*banality is still very much a problem with her*

He sits down at the table with her.
"for the most part things have been fine. After I like left
Bedlam I went to Houston .While there I did not do much. Just
different research projects here and there. Then I got a tip
from a mage that I stay in contact with. He said I should check
out New Orleans and well here I am. So why are you here?

She takes a sip of her tea and takes a deep breath.
"well I'm not sure if you knew this, but after my run in with
you all and the completion of my mission in Bedlam i got tasked
out to save the world. a lot of bad things happened and I lost
many really good friends. You will remember that I called you in
to help me once.*she pauses and takes another sip of her tea*
after that I got asked to join a special school for people
like...us. that was fine but it seems that trouble has a way of
finding me and the ones I care about and I had to leave. Blain
was getting the feeling that something very bad was coming and
although he doesn't like to admit it, I need to help. So we came
here. *pauses again and looks up at him* you know there is
something coming don't you? you can feel it can't you? you can
smell it. it is on the horizon just waiting for the perfect
time... Any way now I'm going to a public school just out side
of town and living a normal life. Well as normal as you can get.
I haven't seen anyone from my past since i moved here. I was
really pleasantly surprise that you reopened the shop. Well I
remember it being a bar. Not that it stopped me from coming in
anyway *she laughs lightly*are you the only one here from Bedlam
or did you all go your separate ways?"

He motions for her to come close so no one else can hear.
" I have not heard all that much. The only person who I would
keep in contact with was Jacob. I do not recall if you came
across his path while you were there in Bedlam. But when we did
talk it wasn't idle small talk. All we really did talk about was
our research, comparing notes, trading info and etc. Last I
talked to him was sometime before his wedding and even then that
was a video message I left for him and his wife.
Now get this. Turns out he died in a club fire. Now that is just
here say. I heard it from a girl and her Uncle. You JUST missed
them. They came me saying how something is coming and they would
like allies. Now here is the thing that got me. It seemed like
they knew what this something that is coming is, but they did
not tell me what it was. All the said is its trouble. So when I
asked them what they were I did not get answer. I told them "I
need to know what I am dealing with and that includes just what
you two are and what we are being allied against." The old man
storms out because he did not like all the questions I was
asking.
"The girl seemed to be the cooler head of the two. We talked a
bit and she left me this card. "
He slides the card over to her. On it is the symbol of a cross,
backed by arched black wings. A phone number is the only other
marking on the card.
" Does that ring any bells to you?"
" Oh yeah I think the girl was molting too. While we were
talking black feathers would fall. "

even with all of my wards he still hurt a lot, so much pain.
well it is unfortunate that he died, or are you skeptical? Oh i
remember that! sorry about the leg, the Vamp Mob had no right to
piss me off, besides he can grow it back.
*she laughs and looks at the card* hmm... not sure. *she takes
out her phone so that she can take a picture* do you mind? ill
see what i can dig up on it. i know your old but you have a
phone right? *she laughs* if i find out anything i will let you
know. I still keep up with some old friends with a lot of occult
knowledge that i can text so it will be good. *she gives you a
big smile* so nice place. *looks around* any thing interesting
happen since you opened? I know that your old place was pretty
full of... people and stuff."

"Knowing Jacob he got to close he wasn't meant to. Knew he was
going to get killed for it so he faked his own death and is now
hiding in a sewer somewhere."
He shrugs.
"No I don't mind, have at it."
When she ask if he has a cell phone he looks very confused.
"Cell phone? What is a cell phone?"
He sighs.
"yes I have cell phone."
He gives her his cell phone number.
"Besides the visit I told you about nothing much have happen.
Yeah I like the cafe its a nice change of pace.

He leans back in his chair and thinks about her answer. About
two minutes go by before he says anything.
"honestly 50/50 I would say. Do I miss the warm of the sun
touching my skin and seeing a sunrise and sunset....mmm I could
take or live it. The parts they do suck mmm. Out living your
better halves. Male and female...when you get to be my age
He laughs a bit.
"you play for both teams as you young people put it. Never feel
in love with a vampire. Vampires have too much of an ego. Only
had relationships with humans. Cant get with a werecreature
because 10 times out 10 they want to rip you throat out. Your
kind well there is that whole banality thing. Do not get me
wrong I have come across a lot of interesting changelings. But
that whole banality thing is a problem. Mages or just too out
there I guess you could say. I mean do not get me wrong I have
come across from pretty cool mages, but they are still just too
out there. Humans.....humans are simple. I don't mean simple in
a bad way or anything if that makes any sense.
As for the growing old and dying thing. I have seen so many
things. Some good, some bad, and some just in between. I have
learned so much you wouldn't believe I have lived a very long
life. If I should die tomorrow "
He shrugs
" So be it. I have come to terms with final death. But that
doesn't mean ill go down without a fight. When your as old as I
am you just look at things differently. As long as I have lived
I have never sired anyone"
