Having a smartass tone of voice he says.
With all do respect I don't know what that makes you. I have had
dealings with changelings, regular vampires, then not so regular
ones like baali and salubri, um a corax, mages, hunters, and
werewolves. That was just in my short in Bedlam. Hell maybe
there was wraith there and I just didn't know about it. When I
left Bedlam well hell that is a different story.
Hell I do online gaming with a virtual adept. I swear all they
do is just fucking grind for xp. One night he is at level 20
next night his at 30. I asked the guy hey buddy to you ever
sleep. He says not really, maybe 4 hours a night. Also don't get
me started on those Order of Hermes mages. They make malkavians
look sane. They come up with mathematical formulas like 2+2 =
fish. ...........and the crazy part about it is ...........their
right.
He clears his throat
Sorry ramblings of an old man. Look I know your not here to
cause any harm. Also if you guys do not want to get involved
with anything.... then why ask for allies?

Nyx breaks into a grin at the gentleman's wandering mind. It's
fine. I've been around enough old fogies to realize that there's
enough wisdom behind their senility to make listening to the
worthwhile. She jokes with him.
Anyway, on the subject of allies. Uncle D and I may be on a
hiatus, but that doesn't mean that the baddies won't still come
looking for us. I figure, it's good to have someone around that
we can hide out with, if the misfortune arises. That, and I've
always been one for making friends, anyway. Nice to have people
to drink with. Nyx flashes a genuinely amused smile at Marcus,
trying to alleviate the tension.

thank you, but you still have not told me just what you two are.
He looks at the girl.
You stand troubling times are coming or something along those
lines. Just what do you mean?

the old man seems to finally be fed up with the constant
questioning as to his nature. his gaze darkens and his angry
voice seems to carry an air of danger that is almost
supernatural in scope.
"we arent going to tell you what we are. it doesn't matter, and
we don't like to talk about it. as far as whats coming? you
don't want to know. Trust me. I know from experience that too
much foreknowledge is a very dangerous thing. when the time
comes you will be able to deal with whatever is coming, or you
wont and you'll die. that's just how the world works. you want
to know the secrets of the universe? get used to disappointment,
Marcus "

Marcus looks them both dead in the eyes. He notices that the
older gentlemen is getting starting to grow angry at Marcus for
all the questions he is asking. He says in a clam tone of voice.
" Sir I do not think you understand what is going on. So allow
me to sum it up for you. You and your niece came to my cafe and
asked me if I could be your ally not the other way around. If
want to be my ally I would like to know just what I am being
allied with. Furthermore your niece said and I quote "it's good
to have someone around that we can hide out with, if the
misfortune arises." Am I right or am I right?
So to wrap all of this up. Bottom line you came to me asking to
my ally. In turn I need to know what you are. Hell if I want to
know what you favorite color is I would like to know....because
you came to me....remember that. Oh and that something coming
yeah it does matter. If you know something that could screw this
city and did not tell anyone about it...you know who people are
going to come after? I am looking right at them.
You want my help I need to know what you need my help for and
just what are you. If do not like those terms.
He points to the door.
" Door is right there feel free to go find someone else and
don't worry about the drinks they are on the house. "

Marcus picks up his tablet and goes back to what he was doing
before they came in.

"my neice speaks for herself. i never asked for allies. all i
came in here for was a cup of coffee." he gets up and starts to
walk toward Marcus with controlled rage, never once breaking eye
contact. (if marcus tries anything during this speech he find
himself frozen in place, this effect ends when he is done
speaking)
"never put words in my mouth, boy. you may be thousands of years
old, but that doesnt mean shit to me. we tried to be subtle
about this and you just kept pushing. you damn bloodsuckers just
cant take a hint. Look at you, Mister high and mighty, King of
his own little world. you get so caught up in your own little
squabbles that you never stop to consider that sometimes people
just want to help. YOU are the one here who doesnt get it. we
aren't the ones who need allies"
he leans close to Marcus and whispers "you are."

Nyx rolls her eyes at the older male that had just left. Look,
kid. I don't know what has happened to you in your life to make
you so damned paranoid, but you can probably guess that if we
know what you are, and haven't caused a scene, we're not going
to at all. As far as I know, the kind of people that would want
you dead, probably won't wait to make niceties.
She stands up as she puts down a card on the table in front of
him. On it is the symbol of a cross, backed by arched black
wings. A phone number is the only other marking on the card. As
she leans over him, another feather falls down onto his lap.
She then pulls out a twenty and places it under David's cup.
This should cover the drinks, right?

"Ill talk to you because you seem to have the cooler head of the
two of you. If you wanted to cause a scene you would have done
it by now. Look keep in mind I am not talking down to you or
your uncle, but when you get to be my age you need to look over
your shoulder every now then. Look at it from my point of view.
Random person you do not know somehow knows you walks up to you
and says " Hey I want to be your ally but I am not giving you
any information about what I am or why I would like you to be
my ally." Tell me you would not ask questions. Now if you and I
have a common enemy and you want to team up to deal with it then
I am all for it. But I need to know what I am dealing with and
who/what I am allied with. I do not understand why your uncle
thinks that is a big deal. He seems like a smart man and I am
sure he would want to know the same thing if he was in my shoes.
He takes the card and places it in his pocket.
"Do not worry about the drinks they are on the house. "
He motions for the girl to come in close so he can whisper to
her.
" Don't take this the wrong way or anything but I think your
molting my dear."
He picks up the black feather from when she first walked in and
the other one that feel in his lap and hands them to her.
"here you go"

A spunky 17 year old enters the
cafe and looks around. She immediately picks up a menu and looks
at it intently. After a minute or so the waitress takes her
order of tea with cream and a few petite scones. She is tall
with bright fire-red hair, huge emerald green eyes, and pale
skin with a little bit of an un-natural shimmer to it. She hums
to herself as she looks around the bar and notices a very old
friend.
