say, whatever works best should be. If I may trouble you, is

"Sure, come take a seat." As Sparrow leads Lloyd through the
house, he resumes their conversation. "Socialism and Communism
failed spectacularly. I was there for it. My operation is
nothing like it - especially since it works." They reach the
kitchen, and Sparrow pulls out a chair at the table. "Can I get
you something to drink?"

In regards to your comment on Socialism not working, I believe
Canada is working well for itself these days. And Communism
works in some countries, albeit they do things that would be
perceived as wrong but it works."

political conversation. In all my years, such a thing rarely has
a positive outcome. Is there anything else I can do for you?

Lloyd shifts a bit in his chair and puts the dime back in his
pocket, twisting his hand around something resembling a phone
through his pocket. He brings out his hand and moves them as if
he is making a speech.
"As it so happens, there is a reason. You see, I find the
miracles that this place is able to create is an astounding
achievement. As a firm believer in progress shown by results, I
would very much like to see this place expand further than what
it is now. Now, it could be the fact that this place is so...
compact that it works so well, being that small groups and
societies so often do, but would it not be fantastic to see more
places like this, especially for those with the same...
predicament that you and I are in? If I must explain, all you
need do is ask. However, I trust you know where I am going with
this"

Sparrow nods understandingly. "I know what you are getting at.
However, I'm part of the reason this place is what it is. No
one, even with the best intentions under the best circumstances,
can do what I do. Another place like this wouldn't be run the
same way unless it was run by, quite frankly, myself. It would
be possible to expand the operation, but that would require
another building and more staff. I'm sorry to say that, other
than volunteer work, there really isn't room in this operation
for more of our kind."

Lloyd looks about for a second or two to make sure no one is
around before turning his attention back to Sparrow.
"Tell me, we are where no Kine can hear our conversation,
correct?"

"No other Kine, yes. People could still walk in at any time, but
the folks who stay here are of no concern. If you want somewhere
we won't be heard, the attic would be a good bet."
He pauses for a moment, then says in a hushed tone, "I don't
know how you feel about me, but let me assure you, I have no
intention of bringing any harm to you. Some individuals find
me... sketchy, but I never break my word."
