Hi all!

I became interested in the whole Manson thing when i was about
14 in '74 and read, Helter Skelter for the first time(yes I have
read it several times)and thought something just wasn't right
about the whole thing it just sounded-"off". Didn't really get
into a lot of investigating because I grew up in an extremely
small town in MI and there really wasn't anything to see or read
and have only recently gotten back into the whole thing. I hope
to gain more knowledge while in this forum and anything anyone
can suggest to read or watch or look up would be greatly
appreciated.

Welcome Stephanie1960 and thank you for your introduction.
I can certainly relate. Though a slightly different time, I also
come from a small town and really to paraphrase Metalica time
pretty much stands still in most small towns.
It was strange for me because when I really started becoming
aware of Manson things just started falling into place. I found
that one breadcrumb lead to another and that there were circles
within circles if that makes sense.
There is obviously a lot out there about Charlie and they tried
their damnedest to never really let him out.
However, even in an initial reading of Helter Skelter, I felt
that I had made contact with a kindred soul.
With enough patience Charlie reveals himself no matter how hard
they tried to suppress him.
If you look around the forums you will see that there is already
a lot of literature, music, and books and thanks to CEddy stuff
is being added daily.
Have a look around.
I doubt you will be disappointed.
Welcome to the forums!

Thank you! My town was so small that when the Dairy Queen closed
the streets were rolled up and put away until the next spring!
Didn't help that my family were also Jehovah's Witnesses so even
reading the book I had to hide it away so my Father wouldn't see
it!
I don't really remember the murders happening being only 8 at
the time and we were really never allowed to watch the new that
much bing as it was "WORLDLY" and witnesses had nothing to do
with the world!
I will definitely look around the forum and see what I can find!

hi stephanie!
I think The Goodbye Helter Skelter podcast on YOUTUBE is
interesting as an alternative look at the killings. An excellent
facebook page is ABRAXAS CIRCLE ( though i am not on it at the
moment...i kept on getting technical difficulties on the page so
i left the group and re-applied in the hope of fixing the
problem and my re-application is still pending. Good films in my
opinion: The haunting of sharon tate, The manson family massacre
and Manson, my name is evil.
hope that helps,
