"Greetings, rube-scoops, rats, mymes, alikens, young loves, old
ladies, mommas boys, rumpkins, PC sonsofbitches and all other
beings who have volunteered to take part in this experiment.
This group, as most of you know by now, will offer readers of my
book The Manson File: Myth & Reality of an Outlaw Shaman an
interactive supplement to the soon to be released new edition of
the book and an opportunity to be alerted to updates in research
on that subject and to share research relevant to this field of
study. Although I will send messages to be posted here when time
allows, the group‘s operation will be handled by the admins for
my social media platforms. Please respect their wishes as they
are volunteering their time. We are inaugurating this circle on
the day Manson prefers to celebrate as the day of his coming
into being for obvious metaphysical reasons. Before it formally
commences, and before you post, please TAKE TIME to consider
these rules of protocol. Yes, that‘s right – rules! The first
expectation we have is common courtesy and civilized
comportment. Unlike many other places in the online
Mansonsphere, there will be absolutely zero toleration here for
discourtesy, insult, trolling, flame wars, ad hominem attacks,
back-biting, innuendo, or any other toxic or malignant behavior.
Any such monkey business will lead to being sent without
privileges to the permanent solitary of the blocking or banning
hole immediately. This is neither a place to glorify or demonize
anyone, but a clearing house for relevant historical
information. This is neither an ATWA fan club nor a victim
sanctification shrine. So cool it on the hero worship and the
maudlin sentimentality, both are obstacles to truth. If all you
have to say is "Charlie is gnarly!" or "Tate is great!" there
are plenty of other places where you can express such subjective
opinions. As my work about this subject has never solely been
focused on the crimes involved, do not expect this to be
exclusively a true crime forum or an ongoing obsessive
hairsplitting analysis of the various felonies committed during
the 1969 crime spree. This is NOT dedicated to TLB alone, but
the whole spectrum of the Manson phenomenon. While we will
frequently cover that crucial area of the murders as a matter of
course, we will also explore the spiritual, musical,
philosophical, political, and pop cultural dimensions of this
trip with equal attention. Links to products and other blogs and
social media will be deleted as soon as they are detected,
unless approved by the admins of this group. IMPORTANT: Do not
block other members whose opinions you disagree with, or for any
other reason, because that totally screws up the flow of
communication and inhibits understanding. If somebody harrasses
you or personally attacks you, please let the admin know and
they will be dealt with, but blocking ruins the experience for
all. Finally I urge you to engage an important quality of this
little understood time warp in the universe, namely AWARENESS.
Think before you post. Then think again. And please try to write
from a calm and composed center without indulging in emotionally
driven communication. Learn to agree to disagree. This will not
be a forum for partisan politics of any kind. Neither personal
sob stories about needing help for anything nor spamming about
products you are selling will be tolerated. This is not
collector‘s corner, so please don‘t set up shop to sell
Mansonian memorabilia here. There are probably a few other
hundred factors to be taken into account, but for now, that
should suffice. Social media of any kind is an extemely flawed
and fragmentary way to communicate on complex subjects, so do
your best to communicate clearly, concisely and without rancor
so a maximum of informative meaning can be gained by those who
gather here. This group is only one method we will be using to
connect readers to my work on this subject in a more interactive
fashion, others will be announced when timely. Thank you all for
