       Manson related to David Carradine?

Wasn't sure what section to post this in, but I recall from one
of the first interviews I listened to with Nikolas about Manson
that's no longer available, that Manson was related to David
Carradine? can anyone shed some more light on this, thanks.

Your question is the first to kick off the New and Improved File
Forum so thanks for getting the ball rolling.
Charlie maintained that since his earliest childhood the Maddox
side of his family said that the actor John Carradine was a
blood relative. And it's a fact that when Charlie was in Venice
in 67 he befriended David Carradine, already a drunk drugged
wild man up to any kind of depravity. They caroused often and
when Charlie referred to Carradine he called him his cousin.
However, neither I nor any other researcher I've set on the task
can verify a Carradine branch of the Maddox tree. Doesn't mean
there isn't but it's not been proven. Nonetheless Charlie
believed it to be true according to family folklore and so
       apparently did David Carradine.
So much so that Charlie recalled to me the day he first was on
the Universal Studios lot that his purported relative John
Carradine made what Charlie referred to as his "monster movies"
there back in the 30s and 40s. - NS

Thank you! Interesting stuff. I'm assuming Charlie probably
heard about David Carradine's death and the circumstances
surrounding it... wonder what he made of that. DC's brothers are
still around i believe, his niece is the fairly well known
character actress Martha Plimpton (she most notably played Steph
in The Goonies), wonder if they have any idea about their
       possible relation to Manson...
