       [Eventual 18+] HemaStudio
By: HematoLogMeIn Date: June 19, 2016, 1:28 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I did say that I came here mostly for art, especially since my
art thread in the other forum I'm in hardly receives much
attention. I put the 18+ warning due to the fact that sometimes
I will draw characters making obscene gestures, using foul
language, having some violent scene, or doing the dirty. I seek
to represent human things in a somewhat idealized form.
I'll cut my rambling here and share my first piece under the
cut, although it's already been posted in that other forum. Just
a forewarning, at this point in time, I do not have a workable
scanner, so this was taken with a cell phone camera, therefore
the quality and colors are not exactly true or pretty.

[color=red]Now, there are many things that I already see that
should have been adjusted, such as the jut of the blonde in the
corset's wrist, shoulder and somewhat mooshed face. The other
one looks a little too thin to my eyes as well. Some of the
shading work probably could have used more layering to smooth
out the roughness, too, however, my colored pencils are running
a little low. I also see some lazy inking and a couple of inking
       mishaps, especially on the corset.
If anyone else sees something that can be improved upon, feel
free to let me know. This isn't a piece that I'm absolutely
proud of, but perhaps it's better to start rough so that I can
make mistakes that I can learn from.

The picture doesn't seem to be working. Is there another link
       you can use??

I tend to use imgur to share my work. Is there a better image
sharing site that cooperates with this forum?

I can see the pic fine.
       Nice drawing.
Did she just bit the lips?

Yes. The character is a vampire. She tends to give her partner
some trouble because of it. I think biting the lips shows
another layer of need as far as vampirism is concerned. Normally
it's seen in a more "sexual" context of kissing, so I guess I
was having fun playing around with subverting that idea.

I would recommend anything but imgur. The reason why is that
it's blacklisted on certain people's filter.

I see. I wasn't aware of that. I used to use tinypic, but they
tend to delete images after a while. Would PRTSCR.net work?

For some reason photovucket and deviant art works. But I'm not
aware of any other image host.

So I noticed your characters' bodies tend to look very similar.
Their arms and hands are a little on the short and thick side.
I wouldn't worry too much about emphasizing any muscles. But I
also say their might be just too much color Inn this one page,
and even with that much color, your characters do not appear
       distinct enough.
So perhaps choose a specific color palette for each character
before hand so people can recognize them easier. And speaking of
color, try not to color in too harshly. Just color in soft and
add layers if you are using color pencils.
