       PSVita love?
By: Orchid Date: April 16, 2016, 3:13 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I own a PS vita, and I love it. It was a Christmas gift from my
friend and I can't get enough of it To be fair my friend knows i
have an obscure love for underdog consoles, so that is part of
the reason why i love it, but it is not the only reason. It
feels so comfortable in my hands, it actually is portable and it
       has great games.
But when I go online and talk about it, i get harrased. People
start saying dumb things to me like "You wasted money on it" or
"hows it like to have a dead console?
I understand that the console isnt that popular, but i dont
understand why people have such negative feelings toward it? I
think the PSVita as a system is amazing and has potential.
I started thinking about why people hate the Vita. And I think I
       have some theories.
FIRST REASON: Its not being promoted by SONY. Ive seen PSP get
more advertisement than the Vita. No one gets to see ita best
features highlighted. Things such as PS1/PS3/PSP games on the
Playstation Network to play on. No one knows what the best games
       of the Vita are.
Sony so far has been pushing it as an indoor accessory to the
       PS4. And it shouldn't.
SECOND REASON: Not enough triple-A exclusives in the west. There
are great games on it, but just not enough exclusives. Gravity
Rush was the face of the PSvita and now theres an HD version of
it coming to the PS4 and there will be no PSVita version of GR2.
There is also the fact that there arent many good games being
ported to the US. Phantasy Star Nova, God Eater 2, and many more
never made it over to the west.
THIRD REASON: Its expensive to start off. Although a friend gave
me a Vita as a gift, it was 200 coins to spend on lil ol me. i
still had to buy my own games and my own memory card. A 32gb
memory card costed me 80$. If i bought both the card and the
handheld system, it would be close to 300$. I wanted ro huy the
8gb for 20$ but i couldnt find it. Luckily the games are
reasonably priced and i later not regretted to buying it.
Looking at the reasons now, i think i can see why people hate it
if you add them all up together. But i also think there is ways
people can change their view on the Vita too. Unfortunately most
of this involves actual Vita owners and Sony. So if Sony is
reading this, i hope they look into what my ideas are. (Lol as
if, but its nice to dream)
#1) Make exclusives. The Vita deserves to have exclusive
content. I own freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice, Oreshika, and
Modnation. But other than that I don't own any other title that
       I can't get on PS3/4/P.
If Sony had more developers to make Vital exclusives and really
tried, I think it would become a far more memorable system.
#2) Advertise it more on the internet so trolls can see the good
aspects of it. Show people enjoying their Vita and where.
#3) if you're going to make the Vita an accessory to the PS4,
make it the no.1 accesory. The Vital has a special ability
called remote play. I love it. I connect to my PS4 and I can
play the game on my Vital without looking at the screen.
HOWEVER!.This feature doesn't allow me to play multiplayer with
anyone. This has partly to do with most games being online multi
player and don't support local play. But if Sony found the
miraculous idea of allowing a ps4 to link more than one account
simultaeniously. That would be great for the Vita.
Oh!Oh! What about Samsung? They turn their phones into VR
headsets. And Google made Cardboard so they can have a decent VR
experience as well. Why can't Sony come up with something like
       that for the Vita???
This one infuriates me the most!
#4) Show off the Vita. When I play my Vita, I'm deeply into it.
And when people see me play the Vita and see me enjoying it.
They actually consider it. I list them the reasons why and they
are usually 60% sure they want it. Its still low. But it started
from 0%. So imagine if they saw more and more people enjoying
       them!?
#5) Make things cheaper!!!!! The memory card is a huge issue. It
costs me 70$ for 32gb. I am perfectly willing to buy memory
cards if they we're 20$ cheaper. I was perfectly fine buying an
8gb for 20$ too but those we're scarcer out.
Also even the smaller things such as themes cost me 2.99. For a
theme that's unnecessary. Selling it 99¢ will be more than
acceptable. And I do see free themes too (I love the 20th
anniversary theme) but not all of them are worth 2.99$
I love my Vita. I really do. I don't think it deserves hate but
I do think it has untapped potential.
