I wouldn't say that they have been cheated by the system and
certainly wouldn't suggest they have cheated the system. They
were not cheated because they had the chance to become powerful
in real life if they were willing to put in the effort.
When someone who has lived without power get some and abuses it,
I'd say it is nature or simply what they learned from being
picked on.
Forums are certainly not the only place where you see it. I have
hurt many "marital artists" who decided that they would kick my
ass with their newly acquired brown or purple belt (and in
tragic cases a white or yellow belt). The funniest case was one
who threw a spinning kick at my head and I stepped to catch it
in the shoulder, he went straight on his ass as he was standing
on glare ice and I was on dry ground, he ran away threatening me
once he got back up, I just kept smoking and ignoring his sad
attempt.
I have seen where a scrawny social reject gets a job throwing
boxes at UPS, puts on some bulk and takes up beating his wife
with this new found power.
I trained with a professional body builder who would not go to
bars anymore because little men would always try to pick fights
with him and would immediately pull a knife or gun to make
things "fair".
I see this at conventions when nerds/losers/introverts get a
staff vest/shirt and decide they are now Judge Dredd.
People who get their carry permit and do dumb things with their
gun.
With the nature of power if you were never taught how to use it
responsibly you may revert to nature and abuse it.
On the other side there is a social attempt to undermine those
who are strong in their gender's power base. "You think you are
so tough sitting there drinking beer in your muscle tank? You
going to kick my ass? Hey don't ignore me you brain dead gym
rat! Why don't you get out of this bar/convention/etc we do not
want people like you here.". In many cases this is counting coup
where the little man knows that odds are very good the big man
will do nothing and if he can get the big man to leave, he gets
huge bragging rights. With women the social warfare gets just
plain ugly.

I left MR because no one wanted to look at my stuff. lol Maybe I
didn't advertise enough? Maybe they don't care about new guys?
Oh well.
Oh, I'm new, lol. I introduced myself in the other page.
I'm a very non-judging, understanding, and bluntly upfront
person. If I have a problem with someone, I will tell them what
and why. But I never have problems with anyone because I simply
don't care enough to take people's crap seriously. It's not that
big of a deal. Well... I suppose it would be if they turned the
whole site against you. But if that happens, you just leave. Let
the trolls troll each other I say. Not saying anyone
specifically is a troll. There is a list of things I don't like.
I don't like it when people jump to conclusions without trying
to understand. Lol and I really find it funny when people have a
problem with me and don't tell me about it. No reason to be a
little kid, tell me upfront what the problem is, it makes
understanding so much easier. It might be a bad thing, but I've
started to completely ignore the fact someone dislikes me until
they say something about it. I'll expect that nothing is wrong
until otherwise.
Anyways, these are all just my opinions and my way of thinking.
I hope I didn't bore you. I usually spout my thoughts anywhere I
can get. I think a lot, and it all bottles up. lol I really like
it when people understand me. I don't care if you agree with me
or not, just that you're listening. You can pick and choose
witch parts you like and don't like, whatever you want.

I give a forum a chance...and it's like they want to give people
a hard time.

I would like the situation to speak for itself. I might make an
entire thread.

Jeez, that's a terrible way to run things. Meanwhile I'm just
over here not really having had much of a bad experience on a
forum before outside of maybe like, one guy who wanted to pick a
fight with me, but he couldn't really get far when I just said
"look, I'm not going to argue about this further; it's off
topic" and stopped replying to the thread for a while.

OK I skimmed the thread.
I'm not getting what the issues is. It seems to be people
talking over what they want to be able to do with their threads.
Lookign at it:
Should a user be able to delete their own thread?
No, 1 reliable member has a bad day and rage quits and they can
take out whole pile of valuable resources. I'm not sure who
created the artist resources thread here but if they deleted it
it would be a big loss for the site and take some time to try to
recreate. Way too much power for trolls.
Should a used be able to edit their posts in a locked thread?
Hell no! Only reason I can think of to do that is to cover up
bad behavior or to make others look bad. This is just a tool for
trolls.
