       Worst tutorial or advice videos?
By: Lumaria Date: September 30, 2016, 7:49 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I've been on a slump in a project and I thought I'd look up
videos of the basics or general advice to see if maybe I will
get some tiny tip that I can take in and expand on.
I found Jenna Moreci. And her advice isn't horrible, but it
treats me like a child. I do think it can be good but other
times I see her just giving advice to show off her weirdness and
       how she can give advice.
And it's cringe worthy. It really is. And she underclass or
dumbstruck down the examples to situations that rarely happen in
       a real scnario.
I rather not even share a video from her because I think it's
that bad. For the record though, regardless if she has written
anything or not that is actually worth reading, I just cant
stand how it's about her personality first, advice second and
it's hard to watch. I never completed a single video.

The very first video on her youtube channel I watched and the
moment she gave her first reason why she chose to self-publish ,
I already knew she's too afraid of getting shot down and that
she craves growth in popularity plus quick and big buck -
doesn't work that way in our world , hun . Her advice were okay
, but seeing that she hasn't reach the point where she can back
up her advice whenever being questioned , it's going to
self-contradicts itself and herself and already her sales on
Amazon says it all (Low ranking and amount of reviews = low
sale) , and that's not just all , but I'll leave it at that .
Also , I took the liberty of reading her first chapter free on
her website (up to chapter three) and I must say , I'm seeing
lots of amateur mistakes and it's very predictable on the get go
, thus not digging into the story at all . But heck , writer's
not my main job , so I'm probably ain't spotting the more deeper
flaws the critics on Amazon somehow managed to . Feel free to
google it and read it yourself , netizens .

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that. But I didn't
want to bring up her book simply because I've seen people who
have been published give bad advice too.
But yeah a lot of what she says is on the surface level. I don't
hate her but I really do feel like she's simply trying to show
       off.

I looked her up. She looked like a model but then I saw her
videos and I think I know what you mean.
Sometimes when someone gives me advice they act like such a big
shot and I don't want to be friends with them anymore.
If I saw a video like that I wouldve stopped within 2 mins and
       moved on LOL!
but who knows, there should be worst out there.

I'm sure there are worst...but I haven't seen one as worst and
       as popular.

He's definitely up there along side Crillry. But I was looking
in more of writing than drawing.

As far as tutorial videos are concerned, I find that there are a
lot of how to draw videos that only teach you to draw one
specific thing or some set of things in one specific way, and
they don't tend to break down the basics or explain
visualizations. They just kinda speedpaint and throw music over
       it.
That's not to say that speedpaint tutorials can't be helpful,
but rather that they don't teach as much as someone who sits
down, does something, explains what they're doing, and gives
helpful tips along the way like where to hold the pencil or a
new way of thinking about the subject matter.
