       Time to step it up

Not aiming this at any individual or at training sessions or
anything like that but at the whole team. Leon hit the nail on
the head when he said we dont look close to being ready for the
season starting, people need to start putting 100% in and
getting back to basics, it seems everytime dan isnt here people
cant be arsed or just dont turn up, not aimed at people who work
because thats always the case so cant be helped i just find it
hard to believe if we had a match there would be so many people
missing. At times today nobody looked interested and thats
before the season even kicks off so i think we all need to get
back to enjoying playing football and communicating more on the
pitch its pointless just turning up and going through the
motions if there isnt anything gained by the end of it. Not
trying to start any shit with people or have a twist i just
think it needs to be said that we need a kick up the arse and to
start playing to the best of our ability to make sure we have
the season we all expect to have after a promising one last
season. If anyone takes offence to this then by all means let me
know but like i said it is aimed at all of us not any
individual. Rant over and cyas wednesday

Everyone and I mean everyone has to put this in Wednesday and
Sunday at the friendly because at the end of the day we are
gunna start the season shit you can see it a mile off. Sunday
leagues an enjoyable thing but I can name on 1 hand who's
putting it in, ain't good enough at all this is my third season
now and this is by far the worst preparation for a season by a
long way, we have tried a new formation in games and for me
personally am trying to go that extra mile cos if I have to play
wingback I need to be a fit mofo. But we should be busting a gut
to get out of this league and testing ourselves, we ain't gunna
get no where been like this. Can't wait for a fitness on
       Wednesday!

I haven't enjoyed pre-season said it since the 1st day and for
me it hasn't changed. I think its just been to drill orientated.
Yeah drills are good and useful just we missing out on set
piece's and game play however with the turnouts we have been
getting all pre-season it means drills are probs the only thing
we can do. This is just my opinion and u all may think am wrong
but am being honest and this is what I think.

Sort of agree with Tills, although I have enjoyed it for the
most part - we've had some quality sessions.
I personally prefer it when we play small sided games and
concentrate on passing and moving, cos that's what we're lacking
       in games in my opinion.
Leon's right though, we don't look ready but to be fair, I think
it's cos we haven't been getting everyone there. There's only a
handful of people who turn up every week.

i dont think any of us are worried about ourselves andy mate the
point i was making was that as a team we dont look ready for the
season the same point leon made after training. Its all good and
well saying focus on yourself and it all gets fed back to dan,
at the end of the day we are all grown ups i dont expect a team
telling off from dan like we are 5 again, the point i am trying
to make is that as a team we need to start playing like we know
we can and to start getting everyone grafting, if we just take
the attitude that people wont graft and certain people will
always twist at training then we are taking steps backwards.
That was the whole reason i made it clear i wasnt aiming it at
individuals because we can all say at some point we do something
good or somebody did well there, like tills said its a team
sport we play in so if we arent all working to get better then
the team will struggle to reach its potential which none of us
       want.

Right this has saved me starting a topic.
I was going to have a bit of a twist about today and Wednesday's
session. There is an improvement on attitudes but to be honest
the work rate is shit. If you want me to take sessions like I
would with U13s then I can where I shout at every player about
everything they do. Now belive or think what you want but I know
what I'm doing when it comes to coaching. I couldn't give a shit
if anyone thinks what I'm doing is wrong or that it doesn't have
purpose because I know what I do has reasons and makes sense if
you buy into it. If you don't see the point in a drill or
exersise then let me know and I will tell you its purpose.
Now I'm not one to talk about fitness but today was embarresing
we did 6 lengths of the pitch an people were twisting and
struggling. This time last year we were flying and I thought
fuck me this team is fit as fuck. People twisting about getting
someone on there backs???? If Dan had asked you'd have done it
without question! If anyone says different I call bullshit. We
were carrying a punch bag not that long ago it's no different.
Again belive it or not when it comes to coaching I know what I'm
talking about. All the drills I do work but if people don't put
the graft in they won't. Wandering about and not getting out of
the way kills them. If Dan did the same drills you'd all be shit
       hot!
This is a rant at the whole team not you Jakka because as much
as you bitch and moan you put 100% into things and I'd like to
think its the lack of that that from others that pisses you off
       more than anything.
However saying all of this at least the people here this week
all turned up. There were lads who text me and let me know the
score had work etc and that's fair enough. However if we had had
a game today can anyone honestly say we would have only had 13
men turn up including Ludo!! I bet there'd of been 16 easy! It's
a shame because there are a few who are grafting there pods off
who won't play half as much as others this season! This is one
of the reasons the tactical stuff is difficult to do. If we had
20 there we could do set play work and shadow play but as it
turns out we get 10and 12 there. Game day there will be 16 and
to be honest for someone like me who feels I've done well pre
season it will piss me off come the start of the season people
will come out of the wood work and there are others that will
       feel the same.
I hope I've got my point across in one way or another. If anyone
has a problem with what I do in my sessions then let me know and
I'll explain. Alternatively give it a whirl yourself.
I honestly mean it when I say thanks to the lads who have been
       to the sessions.
