Sunday and the rest of the season
By: Paul Mac Date: April 10, 2012, 6:48 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Another disappointing loss on Sunday. Defensively we were solid
and never looked in trouble . Fair play to Andy for stepping in
and dong well in goal.
There goals, first one was offside and second was all my fault,
sorry lads I hold my hands up , I switched off and it cost us.
Won't happen again
We didn't really test their keeper although we should have had a
penalty in the first half. Maybe we didn't do enough to win it
but a draw would have been fair. I felt we were a bit flat,
personally I know I can do more, on and off the ball on Sunday I
wasn't good enough and will put that right at the next
opportunity.
I thought Ant was lively on Sunday and Macca and Zander looked
good but overall we can play 100 times better
Tough game this sunday , but I think we owe them one, not just
from the final
We have Such a strong squad which will help us in the last few
weeks of the season but it makes picking an XI more and more
difficult
For what it's worth I would go for it and play 4-4-2 but make a
few slight changes
Burnsy
Lee Zander Macca Sinky
Ant Gray me Dotty
Johnny
Dan
What does everybody else think?

Thought we looked decent on Sunday until we got anywhere near
their box then we looked lost.
Wouldn't change too much from then although if Gray's fit I'd
put him straight back in, he's been a huge miss lately.

Midfield definitely missed Gray I thought on Sunday. We
shouldn't have lost. We did get a raw deal with the penalty that
wasn't given, but we still had enough on that pitch and the lads
on the side to easily win that game. All they did was lump it
forward and dive into tackles, and Paul I agree I can't even
recall that many attempts let alone testing their keeper.
They've never played together upfront which I think showed, not
that it's either mans fault, but once they get a partnership
going Jonny and Dan could be an extremely useful frontline for
us.
On a side note Jonnys hold up play was brilliant, but too often
we had nobody running beyond him gambling on flick ons or being
options for a pass.
I think we just need to get back to playing simple football, if
a forward pass isn't on, don't panic and hoof it up for jonny or
Dan, just pass backwards.
Well done Andy, pulled off some decent saves and generally
commanded your box. An outsider probably wouldn't have known you
weren't a keeper so again, well done mate.

I agree Paul in the 2 games I've seen we haven't been troubled
defensively from open play, both of their goals were sloppy
again, it's Sunday league tho so obviously we will give away
chances the same as we will always get chances to score. It's
gunna be hard again against shotton but there's no team in the
division who could outclass us I wouldn't say, we're due some
luck and with what av seen from our players we can match any
team in the division so hopefully we can get a result at the
weekend then finish strongly and bang a hat full in against dry
burn and the shoes

After training yesterday do we know who is there on Sunday? - Is
Burnsy back? Has Gray's headache gone yet?
I really think we can get at these on Sunday - If we play a
little higher up the pitch putting real pressure on their back
four (who I am not convinced by) I think we can create chances.
Defensively we have been solid for weeks , if we can start
creating the number of chances we have been again , get the
midfield really supporting the forwards we will put them on the
back foot.
We have nothing to lose in effect so should really go for it, we
have already shown that our fitness levels are on a par if not
better than theres. Start shooting on sight really testing the
keeper, give 110% and give everything
Come on lads, still plenty of points to play for and we can have
a real say in the end of this season if we pick up 3 points on
Sunday
