Sunday 19th February Wingate Grange (away)
By: Paul Mac Date: February 14, 2012, 3:43 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Right lads I know people like to wait until after training
before this get's posted but after Sunday everything seems a bit
flat. I don't think there are any big issues, every body seems
to be getting on we just seem to have a general lack of
confidence and energy across the squad.
Sunday let's face it wasn't good enough, no pointing of fingers
no one individual to blame but I think it is fair to say that as
a team/squad we were not good enough. From start to finish we
looked lethargic, our usual high tempo and passing game just
wasn't there. At times it was like the ball was on fire , nobody
wanted it, nobody wanted to be near it.
       So what is the answer?
       Wholesale changes?
Maybe freshening up the team will be a good idea, not sure?
       Change of formation?
I have always said that the midfield is where the games are won.
On Sunday they had an extra man in there and at times it showed.
Maybe a mixture of both? Or maybe something completely
       different?
Either way we need to start talking again, on here, on the
pitch, after the games. I agree with Leon that we need to get
the team spirit back off the pitch and that will then transfer
       itself onto the pitch.
We are a squad after all, we all want the same thing, we all
want the Mallard to do well.
So heres the chance to get the ball rolling
No mud slinging, nobody needs to be told where they have gone
wrong, we are all adults, we know when we have a bad game , so
lets be constructive and look forward to Sunday and try to
restore a bit of confidence in the squad

       I will go first
       Starting XI for Sunday
       Burnsy
       Jimbob Anth Ian Leon
       Matty Gray Me Hally
       Dotty
       Gibson
Back to 4-5-1 to give us a bit more protection. Brought Anth in
as Zander is missing.Macca is missing otherwise id have put him
in the middle with me and gray so have given dotty a free role
and brought Matty in on the right Get Dan further up the pitch
so he can do more damage.
Wingate are a very physical side and so we need that bit more in
midfield. Pushing Dan furthest forward gives there back four
something to always worry about. I think we create a lot when we
have people coming from deep and are sometimes too reliant on
the ball over the top when we play 4-4-2.
So let's put last week behind us. We owe these a good game as we
were embarassed against them last time so everybody should be up
for this. Let's show them and ourselves just how good we can be

seeing as im not fit to train or play at the minute not much
point me putting a team up ha but im bored and i saw the game
from the sidelines sunday so might be able to have a half decent
       input ;)
i would agree with paul that these are a physical team so the
4-5-1 formation is what i would go for aswell which would leave
my team the same as pauls with the one change possibly two
       Burns
       jimbob Ian Zander Sinky
       Dotty/matty Macca Paul Gray Hally
       Dan
I agree with paul that macca would be ideal playing in there
because he bring a hell of alot of energy to the team so he can
go and do what i do and run around like a tit while paul and
gray play football ha :) ive put sinky in ahead of leon for no
other reason than i think sinky is better suited at the back and
leon is better on the wing for me but with hally having as many
assists as he has its hard to leave him out, i am undecided on
matty or dotty for the wing because although dotty and jimbob
link up brilliantly on the right matty is waiting patiently and
sooner or later has to earn himself a start, also felt a little
harsh on kev and anth because kev was invloved in the game alot
more last week and on another day would of had a goal or two to
show for it but with dan leading the way with goals couldnt pick
kev over him and also anth has played well everytime he has
played recently and scored a cracking/lucky goal last week ha
no doubt someone will pull a worldy of a training session out of
the bag and get himself mentioned on here by people but thats
what i would go for sunday so lets get back to winning ways lads

As i wasnt there last sunday i wont put a team up as i dont
think its fair for me to comment. But i think Dan will have an
idea of the team he wants to put out against these judging on
past times we have played them. They are a physical side so i
think it would be sensible to play our most physical side
aswell. Im back training tommorow and raring to go and im sure
alot of other people will aswell so i think this weeks session
is an important one to show what you have to offer the team on
       sunday. :)

my antics after the third goal didnt help on sunday and i
apoligize for that but it was massively frustrating,
i never put a team up here because i just leave that to Dan but
i do think there needs to be a big shake up and try a few new
things because it's a bit pridictable the team at the minute and
i think it's unfair for some of the lads who don't see much
action to be witnessing games like sunday
the spirit needs to come back but the only way in which that
gets back is if we win games and we seem to have lost the
mentalitity of it of late and at a crucial time with the cup
       games coming up
need to just dig deep and roll our sleeves up fight for every
ball, loose the ball you dont stand and twist ya sprint and get
       it back
be nice to see good numbers tomorrow night, get some feel good
spirit into the lads... gan on daft, wear hats or basically keg
Ludo anything just to get the spirit back and then look forward
to sunday where we will bounce back with the win and get into a
       final!!!

news to me thought the 19th was a cup game, why do they keep
       pissing about with the fixtures?
whatever it is we still need a win for confidence

Just a quick apology from me to everyone for last week. Got far
to drunk to play even though it was my birthday.
It shows how far we have come when we are so annoyed at losing
to these types of teams. Even though we didn't play well, we
still had plenty of chances to win the game so I'm not too
       worried.
       Burns
       Jim, Zander,Ian,Leon
       Dotty,Me,Paul,Hally
       Macca
       Dan
Only thing I would mention about the team is that I would put
Macca just off Dan and let him roam. I think he would make it
really difficult to mark him and free up space for Dan,Paul and
       myself.
       See you sunday
