Alreet lads, new season starting and its our first game on
sunday, and i believe this is the hardest squad gibbo has got to
choose from, so who would your starting 11 be, with regards to
pre - season and the new lads who have joined.
       :)

I think we have two formations now at which we can play with in
the 352 and the 442.I would start off with 352 against ashdown
like we did against lumley and if it isnt working after 15-20
       mins change to 442.
My team would be,just based on pre season. Would start with 352
       Burnzy
       Macca Ian Zander
Dotty Grey Paul Mac Jacka Warren

       Gibbo Hally
Depending if warren is ok to play due to circumstances im not
sure but if not i would drop hally to left mid and ide play up
       top with Dan.

I agree with andy's team aswell so its pointless me changing it
and also the good thing about that team is that if the 352 aint
working we could always swap it to 442 without having to make
       any subs i.e
       Burnzy
       Macca,Grey,Ian,Zander
       Warren,Paul,Jacka,Hally
       Gibbo,Dotty
this is based on the lads who have played during pre season and
nothing else, as we all know places are hard to get so graft and
       determination is required !
howwa lads lets get of to a good start

GK Burnsy - We all know he's number 1 and he's been quality in
       pre-season.
RB Macca - One of the most consistent players we've and just as
comfortable at right back as centre half.
CB Lee & Ian - Lee is calm as owt and Ian has come straight in
and played well but added a big voice as well.
LB Zander - Been tremendous in the last few games and solid
       wherever he plays.
RM Dotty - Really impressed with him since he came in. Quality
       player.
CM Paul & Jacka - Perfect partnership in the middle and I think
when Jacka does all the dirty work it gives Paul more time on
       the ball.
LM Hally - I know he might wanna play up top but I think he's
quality on the ball and sometimes the forwards aren't as
involved so we need him that bit further back, plus he grafts
       his arse off.
ST Dan & Andy - Dan is always likely to get a goal and it's
always better having a stronger lad there. Andy simply because
he's played more games and got himself a goal so he deserves it.
Just my opinion lads, nee offence to anyone I didn't name. Let's
get off to a good start eh?

Based on who I think we have available and pre season form I
have gone with this for Sunday's first game
Burnsy ( Simple enough Number One, awesome 2nd half to last
season and during this pre season)
Macca ( Sometimes too restricted at centre back so this gives
him the chance to get forward more)
Ian ( Has slotted in perfectly and would be the natural partner
       for Lee)
       Lee ( Mr Reliable)
Zander( Man in possession , had a solid last two games so he
       deserves his chance)
Dotty( Close between him and Matty but I think Dotty just has
       the edge)
Me ( Dissapointed by my pre season but i am confident enough in
my own ability to think I can be on it 100% come Sunday, need to
be more of an attacking threat so gonna start with a goal this
       weekend)
Jacka ( Never gives the opposition a moment of peace , horrible
       to play against)
Hally ( Been excellent this pre season and I think he adds more
to the team in this deeper role)
Gibson ( A real handful for any defence and whenever he is up
       front he scores goals)
Kev/Andy ( I think Kev is better when he starts a game as it can
take him a while to get into a match when he comes off the bench
so i would probably go with him with Andy to maybe come on after
       about 60 70 minutes)
Gray is away on some pointless holiday or something so I know he
is missing but as far as I know apart from that we have a full
strength squad to pick from and any of the lads not mentioned
are more than good enough if selected
Come on lads 3 points on Sunday , start as we mean to go
       on!!!!!!!!!

can only agree with what everyone else has put really, for me i
think when gray is back the 3-5-2 will work well and like people
have said if it isnt working can switch to 4-4-2 without the
need to make any subs. But for sunday i would start with a 4-4-2
for no other reason than gray being away because he is getting a
new hip or something. i would have
       Burnsey
       Macca/Zander/Ian/Leon
       Matty/Me/Paul/Dotty or Hally
       Kev or Hally/Dan G
Burnsey- no brainer number 1 and has had an awesome pre-season
on his day easily best keeper in our league
Macca- solid at the back and likes to go on his crazy runs which
sometimes leaves us exposed through the middle so playing in a
wider role will give him the freedom to attack up the wings
Zander- must be dans biggest headache at the minute deciding who
to play here because with lee u always get a reliable defender
but the form zander has been in i cant see how he can be left
out past couple of games he has been the best player on the
       pitch for me
Ian- knew him from years back so knew what to expect when he
came and he didnt dissapoint has came and shown everyone what he
is capable of and looks like a great addition to the squad
Leon- shown against the crows and against deneside he can work
in this position, granted it was a lwb in the 3-5-2 but he still
got up and down the wing with ease and looks like he is starting
       to enjoy his football again
Matty- in the 4-4-2 he got 2 goals and an assist looked a little
lost in the 3-5-2 but that was because of him having to adapt to
a whole new style of play i think he is good enough on the ball
and with macca behind him giving him a little more freedom on
the right he can cause teams a real headache
Me- didnt get as much play time in pre-season as i hoped but i
am putting that down to illness and injury (I hope haha) unless
dan is planning a deadline day sale to dryburn lol but i am
hoping to get the nod and will try and prove that people were
right to put me in there teams to :D
Paul- have said it over and over on his day unplayable, quick
feet and great awareness which the strikers will benifit from
more and more if he can take the form he ended last season with
into the start of this season
Dotty- has came in and showed everyone what he is capable of
bagged a couple of goals and has shown if he can keep his
fitness up will be a cracking player who can be used on eather
wing which is always a bonus
Kev- might not have played enough in pre-season to get the nod
but when he is fit his pace is to scary for other teams to leave
him out the team, can finish at the end of an attack and always
a good option for counter attacks and using as a player to play
       of dan.
Dan G- back up top on sunday and scored and played a big part in
dottys goal with his first touches back up there, scored in
nearly every pre-season game and to add that to the 20+ he got
last season he is to good a finisher of the ball not to be up
       there
Hally- have put hally at eather lm or up top with dan simply
because depending on who dan picks or what team he goes for
hallys form in pre-season has stood out to me and the graft he
is putting in now compared to the start of last season has
changed him into a different player completely cant see him
being left out on sunday and has shown he is more than capable
in both positions so be a tough choice for dan where to play him
with the likes of dotty and kev both capable of stepping in but
like i said cant see how can leave him out after some of his
       performances pre-season
might look like i have spent some time licking bot there haha
but have picked my team on pre-season and nothing else and those
were the players who stood out for me, apart from myself of
course because i was gash but i am not going to leave myself out
that would be silly :D haha and have to mention i could have
picked atleast 4 or 5 other people in different positions who i
didnt mention there because competition this season is going to
be tougher than ever and whatever team dan puts out sunday is
more than capable :D so lets get the season started with a nice
       3 points
       HOWAY THE DUCK :D !!!!!!!!!!

Alrite boys, thought i would give this a go
First off just want to say cheers for the welcome and all the
good comments above, will do my best to justify them
As for Sunday, whatever the starting 11, I would like to see us
go with a 4-4-2 as i feel it gives us alot more attacking threat
than the 3-5-2 which I feel does more of a containment job.

I agree with Ian with the 4-4-2 decision, it's ok when attacking
       but defensively were vulnerable
