Chapter 4: Part Of Your World
   DIR By: Terra Saltt
       Date: April 22, 2014, 12:57 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Emil wasn't worried. He wasn't worried at all. He especially
wasn't panicking right now, that is not what he was doing at
       all.
After returning with a handful of Fae wings after a good hour of
hunting, he found the campsite empty. Tino's equipment for
grinding his powder was untouched, and there was no sign that
the reindeer was nearby when Emil went searching in the usual
spots where the reindeer could be found. It was like he
just...disappeared. But why? How? There were no signs of a
struggle, no bits of fur or drops of blood. So that means Tino
must be okay, right? Then where was he and why wasn't he
       answering Emil's calls?
His calls turned into bleats as he looked around all alone and
hugged his arms that had started to shake. This kind of alone
was different than the normal alone he craved for. The ram never
really was alone when he knew where his family was waiting for
him to get back from his walks. With Lukas and Mathias out
inspecting the edge of their territory, they could be anywhere
right about now. Tino was supposed to be working on his powder
at the campsite, but he wasn't, and it wasn't like Tino to
wander off very far without telling anyone!
But Emil wasn't worried. No, that would be silly. He was a
grown-up now, he could handle an hour of complete isolation...
Though he was also a sheep, and sheep didn't handle isolation
       well.
       "Ti-i-i-i-i-ino?"

Tino frowned as he heard Emil. He was bleating. Oh gods.
"Emil!" He called, running a bit faster. He should have been
paying more attention to the time! Emil, despite his current
rebellious nature, didn't handle loneliness very well. He was
quick to panic if he didn't know where the rest of the herd was.
He finally caught site of the silky white hair and curling
horns, and raced to his side.
"Emil, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to take so long! I... I uh...
I got a bit itchy, so I went to take a little bath, then I got
hungry, and time slipped away from me. I'm so sorry for scaring
you like that!" He cooed, panting as he wrapped his arms around
the ram's shoulders. "Are you okei?" He wondered, frowning.

Emil latched on as soon as he found Tino. He was so relieved
that he was nearly on the verge of tears and buried his face in
the other's shoulder. "Wh-why weren't you at the river? Or the
bushes and p-places we usually get food? You didn't tell me!"

Tino frowned, carding his fingers through the ram's hair,
kissing the crown of his head.
"I'm sorry Emi, I, uh... I went a little further than usual,
hoping to avoid the poisonous berries. I thought maybe if I went
       to a new area, I'd have better luck. I wasn't thinking, I'm
sorry!" He breathed, patting the poor thing's back. The little
ram was shaking in his arms, and his guilt began to eat him from
the inside out. "I won't do it again." He swore, pressing
another kiss to the white hair.

Emil pulled back and looked at him with knitted eyebrows. He was
past his relief now, and more angry. "You're just lucky I can't
tell Lukas without him knowing that I also didn't do what he
said!" It was then that he noticed something odd and he looked
up. "Why are there flowers in your antlers?"

Tino's eyes went wide, and he looked up, realising much too late
that he'd completely forgotten about the daisy chains laced
through his antlers. He hadn't come up with an excuse for those
       yet!
"O-Oh, um, haha, those?" He wondered nervously, trying to stall.
"Um... I... You know, the Fae, hahahaha, they like to... Er...
Mess with me, and... I uh... I was picking berries really close
to where they live, and I guess they thought it'd be real, er,
funny to cover me in flowers. Strange little creatures, aren't
they?" He offered, laughing awkwardly. Wow, he was a terrible
       liar.

Emil quirked an eyebrow at him. "Since when did Fae know how to
braid?" He picked one loop off and studied it closer. Fae were
too unintelligent to do things like this, and they were not nice
creatures at all. "You're the one that always rips their wings
off. Wouldn't their revenge hurt more than this?"

       Again, he laughed nervously.
"Oh, well, you know, I guess they realised that I wasn't
bothered by them flicking me. Maybe they thought I'd feel bad if
they made me look like a girl." He tried, forced smile quivering
       at the edges.

Emil just stared at him. Tino was acting really funny...in fact,
he'd been acting strange for the past few days now that Emil
thought about it. He was hiding something. Tino never hid
anything he was always so open about everything, so whatever it
was, it had to be big. "Tell me what you were really doing," he
said after a tense pause of staring, "Or I won't help you get
them out from where you can't reach and then you'll have to tell
Lukas, and he's not going to buy any Fae nonsense."

Tino winced, biting his lip. He couldn't tell Emil. Though Emil
was very trust worthy, hiding a whole moose was not something
he'd do. After all, in Emil's eyes, Berwald would sound like a
       threat.
"Um... Oh, alright, you got me. I've been flirting with a
nymph." He announced, already feeling bad for lying. It was a
necessary evil though. "I'm hoping to win her favor, so she'll
show me some new healing magics. She says she learned a very
powerful one from far away. But I didn't want to tell you guys
about her, since I'm not sure if she's being truthful. I didn't
want to get your hopes up. And, to be honest, I was scared
Mathias and Lukas would go and try to bully it out of her, and
she'd run off without telling me!" He lied, hoping to the gods
       it was believable.
