Time to fly, little birdy...
DIR By: Draven Crowe

“It ends tonight!” Shouted an old man on a high horse.
He had every one’s attention, and boy did he have a way with
crowds. “We strike… TONIGHT!” He had a staff in his right hand,
in which he jerked in the air, making the crowd go wild. All but
one girl inside the crowd, she looked bored. Her name was
Draven. Rolling her eyes, she pushed her way out of the crowd,
and began to walk amongst the humans. Her eyes glossy, as she
entered a bar. Her eyes looking into the bartenders as soon as
she came in, the old man who owned the bar grinned from ear to
ear. He knew that since Draven was there, he would be getting
rich soon. “Draven! Dear! Do you want a drink?” Draven sighed,
and smiled. “I think I’ll four… I’m not feeling well tonight…”
She sat in one of the bar stools, and pressed her elbows against
the counter, leaning against them, and waiting for her
drink.

What a strange town... This was the first thing Sachiel thought
as he wandered the streets. There appeared to be some sort of
revolution going on. But whatever the story was here, it was
none of his concern. He was simply passing through, but the
night had snuck up on him. He would have to find a place to stay
for the night. Shouldn't be hard to find a reasonably priced
hotel here. It didn't seem to be all that fancy, after all. He
decided to stop by the bar first, however, simply seating
himself and enjoying a drink. His wanderings had lead him far
from home, and he had no real destination. His only goal was to
see as much as he could before returning home. He took a chug of
his drink when he heard the bartenders voice pick up, and turned
to see the reason. A woman had taken a seat only a few seats
down. "Draven," the bartender had called her. "Her drinks are on
me tonight." Sachiel said. He didn't know why the words escaped
his lips, but they had, and there was no taking them back. He
then turned to face the lady. "But if you aren't feeling well,
he may not be keeping the best thing for you back there behind
the bar." He said with a smile and a wink.

The bartender sent the man who spoke a smile. “A pretty
drink for a pretty lady.” He chuckled, and went to work with
mixing some alcohol, and other stuff. When Draven had heard a
noise, she slowly turned her bright hazel eyes towards the man,
her eyebrows lifted up, and she gave a chuckle. “Well… I haven’t
seen anyone like you around here…” She crossed her long dark
legs, as she let out a gentle yawn. “Are you new here in town?
It’s not a safe place to be, especially out at night.” Her lips
twitched up into a smile. The bartender passed Draven the drink,
and she sipped the contents that laid inside. A soft purr coming
from her throat. She lifted her head and shook her head. “Well,
I’m never too down to have a nice drink.” She smiled, as a
couple in the bar laughed and whispered about her being the town
drunk, Draven paid them no mind.

"Indeed." Sachiel said calmly, sharing the bartenders sentiment
to the woman's physical appearance. Sachiels grey eyes met with
the womans Hazel, and he offered her a smile. "I'm more of a
passerby." He said, taking in his surroundings. "Not really
worried about being safe. I'm sure I can handle myself." He said
with a laugh. He had made it this far on his own, after all. The
scar that covered his left eye was a sign of his existence as a
survivor. "Well then cheers to enjoying the night." He said,
raising his own glass. He heard some of the whispers of other
patrons, however, dismissing them without much mind. Instead he
decided on his own inquiry. "So what's the deal with the people
outside? He asked in a passive voice. It seemed that something
major to the people of this land was happening, but he wasn't
sure exactly what. His land was always quiet and peaceful, and
he hated that about it. It seemed fake, and nothing more than a
ticking time bomb. Things like this interested him. Controversy,
uprising. These were things of human nature. And things that
should be expected.

Draven looked at the man a small chuckle leaving her
lips. “You’re clueless about what’s going on?” She shook her
head, and took another sip of the liquid. “Mm.. Well, a long
time ago, there was this man who thought that he could try to
rule the world…” Draven shook her head. “All he ended up doing
was making a war…” She paused for a moment, and in that moment a
loud boom happened and she smiled. “Bombs…” The bartender
glanced at them. “Talking about that prick who set our worst
warrior off?” She gave a nod, and he shook his head, scrubbing
some dishes in the sink behind him. “I can tell you one thing…
Never get into Draven’s way, boy… She’s has a way with swords..”
Draven glanced to the ground a soft smile curling up her lips.
“She could knock a man twice her size down, dead… Don’t get in
her way…”

Sachiel didn't think it unusual that he didn't know what was
going on. After all, he wasn't from this land. He listened well
to her story however. Corrupt leadership had lead to the
destruction of many lands. So that was the cause of the
uprising. An attempt to overthrow him? Perhaps. His eyes shifted
as he heard the explosion. His guard was up, but he showed no
signs of surprise or fear. Only that he was alert. He raised his
eyebrow as the bartender spoke up. It seemed a random thing to
say out of nowhere, but then, this place was far from "normal."
He smiled nonetheless however. "Well I'll have to keep that in
mind, Draven." He said, playing along with the conversation.
"I'm Sachiel, by the way." He extended a hand to the woman in
greeting. He saw no need to mention that he too was a warrior.
He saw no need to make a competition out of something so
fruitless.

.Draven tilted her head at Sachiel’s gesture. A smile
tugging at her lips, and she nodded his way. “As you have heard
from, my fellow… “friends” my name, is Draven.” She picked her
mug off the counter, and took a sip. Suddenly the bar doors
busted open, and a man in black armor came towards Draven.
“Draven! We need you…” She sighed, and looked at Sachiel. “Well,
it was nice knowin-” but the soldier shook his head. “You sir…
You come to…” His eyes staring directly at Sachiel. Draven
shrugged, walked to a coat rack, pulled on a big wool, black
coat, and slipped outside, looking around, she murmured under
her breath. “Great… Lets get this over with..” The soldier had
followed her and nodded his head.

Grey eyes settled on the woman as she spoke up in introduction.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. " He said. His voice was strong,
but there was relaxed charm about it. His eyes then turned to
the door, an instant before they swung open. He was ready to
strike the invader by the time he reached the bar, however,
relaxed himself by the time he realized the man had come for
Draven. He was prepared to bid the woman farewell, however, soon
found himself being recruited for this unknown trip as well.
With a sigh, he grabbed the small backpack at his feet and stood
up, revealing a small pouch at his waist. He then followed the
man, as well as his new acquaintance out the door.

Draven looked at the soldier and grumbled. "He's new, yet you
want him to fight your battles for you? How pathetic, almost as
much as getting a girl to do the dirty work." the soldier
glanced down and smiled, "W-well, Draven... I saw you guys
talking and thought you might want some company." This of course
didn't even make her job easier; so she didn't answer him, but
she stopped walking enough to talk to Sachiel. "How good are you
at fighting? Because you're going to need that skill before you
take a single step forward..." As her words ended a bomb flew to
the ground ten feet from them, making the ground vibrate under
their feet, but Draven held her ground.

New? That wasn't the word that fit this situation. Sachiel would
barely refer to himself as "visiting," Let alone "New," But he'd
been lacking adventure in his life, so he didn't object. Hell,
maybe he'd even get to see the Legendary Draven in action! The
thought brough a smile to his lips, a pretty girl like her being
a talented warrior. But then, where he came from, such a thing
wasn't completely unheard of. He was brought out of his thought
process when the woman stopped him, just outside the bar.
Sachiel wasn't the type to gloat about skill, or overestimate
his ability. But with his experiences, he was confident that he
would be fine. But before he could offer her an answer, an
explosion went off! As the ground rumbled and shook, Sachiel
stomped his right foot, and all the moisture beneath the ground
began to freeze solid, supporting the ground and preventing it
from splitting apart. His time training in Septur had come in
handy after all!
At the same time, the moisture in the air around him began to
freeze into dozens of blades and needles made of ice. His stance
became defensive as naturally as air entered his lungs, as he
searched for any sort of direct opposition, only to find no one
approach. The floating needles melted back into liquid water,
and fell to the ground as the man stood erect once more and
looked at the woman. "Do you really have time to be asking
questions right now?" He asked, a sly grin on his face. This was
the kind of thing he was looking for! Excitement.. Adventure...
Perhaps he had stopped in the right place after all! "After
you." He said with a wink.
