"I could undersssstand the feeling of lonelinessss.."
Sympathetic, Siyan nodded as she spoke while moving through the
thick marsh that seemed to be nothing but high grass and thick
mud now. The dirty high water was now behind them as they got
closer to the cabin. "But, you could ssstill ssee them and
posssssibly move other objectsss assss well, right? That could
prove to be rather ussseful and fun.." Siyan hissed out almost
excitedly as their path made it closer over the hill. Bare feet
feeling the squishy and slowly cooling murky mud pushing through
her toes and collecting upon her feet and lower calves. The
faint flushed that applied itself to the tall woman's face was
priceless and gained a smile from Siyan's own lips; it was nice
to see something like that after a long while of being on the
move; not even getting the chance to meet with many people for a
prolonged amount of time. The trees were getting low now as they
entered near the yard of the abandoned cabin. It was rather
small, compared to the others around. It had two floors, but the
second floor was a half floor. It had a fireplace and other
things and even had a stocked kitchen, but food was nothing but
canned goods. It was but a few more yards when Siyan suddenly
stopped without warning. 'Gypsie. . . What does she know about
them?' Siyan thought to herself; repeating it in her mind before
shaking her head and making her way to the front door. The rest
of the walk was silent and with a pick, Siyan managed to pry the
door from it's locking mechanism and opening the dark cabin.
"What about Gypsssiesss?" Siyan asked as she moved to turn on
some lamps.

Sera shivered slightly as chill bumps started rising on her bare
arms. She sighed in contented relief at the dropping
temperature. The cool would have been more enjoyable were she
not soaked from her fall earlier, but she was not complaining,
just glad that the heat had subsided. When they came into the
cabin’s yard, Sera had to take a step back to keep from bumping
into the serpent woman who had stopped short just in front of
her. She looked around confusedly for any sign of danger and,
finding none visible, wondered what had made the woman come to
such an abrupt halt. Perhaps she was just listening out to make
sure there were no unexpected guests around or something like
that? Sera thought, shrugging as she watched Siyan pick the lock
with swift ease and walk into the dwelling. Ducking down to keep
from hitting her head on the door’s frame, she stepped inside
behind her and glanced around in the darkness, unsure of what to
do or where to go and a little unnerved at the thought of being
in a dark room with a strange being she had only just met, so
she just stood there in the doorway, fiddling with the charm on
her choker. “Why the sudden interest?” Sera tilted her head,
still playing with her necklace. “I only said that I wander much
like a gypsy wanders. Making my home wherever my feet rest.” As
the lamps were turned on, more of the cabin became visible and
it did not seem as foreboding as it had before to her. She took
a step toward the middle of the room, taking in the sparse
furnishings. This place must have been used for a temporary
dwelling, because it looked like it had not been inhabited for a
while.

Siyan's tongue flickered from between her lips as she took the
scent in from the dusty and murky air; it was dry, yet damp at
the same time. Which means that no one had been here for a while
and the humidity crept through the log manufactured cabin. The
couch was still intact and all furniture seemed to be
comfortable. She didn't answer the tall woman's words just yet
as she surveyed the area. "I came acrosss thissss placccce
earlier today.. It sssseemed empty and I wanted to check it out
tonight. I do mosssst of my traveling during the day, unlessss,
I have reasssson to move at night.." Siyan explained before
taking a seat on one of the couches. "Come. Take a ssseat.
Sssstop being sssso ssshy. You're muccch bigger than I am.." She
said with a hissed giggle. "I sssstopped becaussse you mentioned
ssssomething about gypsssiessss." She told her, crossing her
legs to get comfortable in lei of an explanation. "About a
hundred yearssss ago, I wassss a traveling gypssssie. My
sssissssterssss and I ussssed to move about quite frequently.
I've sssseen ssso many faccessss that Ssssometimesss, mosssst
ssseem familer... Like you.. You're not human, aren't you?"
Siyan popped the question aggressively. She knew something was
off, and she had the feeling that she knew this woman. Different
hair styles, clothing, anything. But, that doesn't change the
eyes...

Sera dropped her hand from her necklace and walked toward the
couch Siyan had picked as her resting place, but instead of
sitting next to her, Sera chose to settle on a low ottoman
nearby. The shorter piece of furniture reminded her of the rocks
she liked to perch on and it put her closer to eye level with
the shorter female. “Have you never heard the expression, ‘the
bigger they are, the harder they fall?’?” Sera chuckled. “In all
seriousness, you will have to pardon my behavior if it seems a
bit strange.” Pressing her feet together in front of her on the
ottoman and resting her hands on her ankles, she listened as the
woman spoke of her past. Well, as best she could anyway. Ever
since entering the cabin, her mind kept drifting between
different thoughts, like a butterfly flitting from flower to
flower, and Sera was having a hard time reining it in to focus.
Memories flashed in and out like pictures on an old view master
toy. Little pieces of her past resurrected after years of lying
dormant in the back of her mind.
“So you figured that out, huh?” Sera responded, her eyes fading
to a dull hue. “No, I am not human. I do not know what I am
really.” She had met a being some time ago, who claimed to be
her brother. He said he knew where she came from and what she
truly was, but before he had a chance to explain everything, he
vanished along with any information he had. “The only thing I
know for certain is that I have been alive for a very long time,
so it is possible that you may have seen me before.” In all her
years of living, Sera hadn’t changed much. The main difference
was her clothing. She had modernized her look somewhat though as
the times changed, trading her ancient black stola for the loose
pants and tunic she wore now. Even still, familiarity was rare
for her.
Upon hearing Siyan mention her life as a gypsy, Sera’s attention
perked up. “You were, eh? Well that seems fitting for one so
agile as yourself. I spent some time with a small group of
gypsies awhile back." They had been an interesting bunch, too.
All the bright colors and the music were so fascinating that she
had found herself lured right into it all as if under a spell.
It had been the only group of people she had been around where
more than one person could see her. "Tell me then, what was your
talent? Were you a singer, musician? Perhaps maybe a dancer or
an acrobat or even a fortune teller? Or were you a
jack-of-all-trades like some I knew?” Sera let her feet drop to
the floor and propped her elbows on her knees as she waited to
hear more from the serpent woman.

"Giantssss aren't that graceful.. I"m quite familiar with the
expresssion, Sssera. Falling is one of my worsssst fearsss.."
Syian admitted while slitted eyes watched as Sera got
comfortable upon the furnishing. She didn't know what or where
she was going to go from here. Very little people came into
contact with Siyan, at least for this long. But, she knew that
she needed to get out of the swamp lands for at least a few
hours to rest her aching body. The transformation really did a
number on her; much like the pain werewolves are forced to
endure once a month, but her's was twice daily and sleep was a
comfort afforded to her at seldom. The snake woman placed both
of her hands upon her knees and clasped her fingers together
while moving her bare feet around in angst; she was hardly able
to keep still, especially after just transforming. As the woman
spoke, Siyan let out a hissy giggle and shrugged lightly.
"Sssstrange? Honey, I've ssssseen almosssst all there isss to
ssssee around thesssse here partsss. You aren't the
ssstrangessst critter running around, I could assssure you of
that.." She gave a light smile while still studying the woman
before her.
She seemed a bit off, understandably, Siyan guessed. She didn't
seem like a people person. Hell, she didn't seem like she
welcomed company at all. Siyan could often relate to that; being
an immortal snake and all. Her skins would hold great value over
life times. But, this woman seemed interesting and peculiar.
Like there was some hidden connection between her and Sera.
"Well, of courssse. Ain't no human'ssss eyessss ssshift like
yoursss. You are very pale, yet not sickly. Your flesssh. It'sss
cold. But, what really gave it away wassss you being
sssurprisssed that I could sssee you. You're the sssize of a
tree, of courssse I could sssee you. Unlesss.." Siyan moved her
hands in a manner gesturing that she had figured it out. "You
don't know what you are? Well, that's quite the pickle then,
Sssera. Maybe your travelsss iss what keepsss you going. To
disscover what you really are.." Siyan quoted. She vaguely
remembers this woman, but she felt more than she knew. What was
it about this woman? Why did it feel like their past connected
on more than a 'passer-by' level?! Siyan huffed in thought,
racking her mind while trying to figure this puzzle out.
Siyan's eyes widened as the woman told her of her travels years
back. She lifted her head in thought, allowing her forked black
tongue to slither out the corner of her thick and juicy lips,
moistening that spot it protruded from. "You don't say..?" Siyan
questioned, realizing what this connection could have been. She
didn't know for sure, yet. But, she remembered having some
bonding time with a woman of her stature so long ago. It was
brief, yet memorable. "Heavensss no. My sssisster, Nayisss,
wasss the sssinger. Mossst beautiful voice in all the landsss. I
haven't ssseen her in twenty yearsss." Most gypsies were human,
but Siyan and her sister were gifted with a curse or eternal
life, but as serpents.. "I am an artissst. Acting, dancing,
magician, and acrobat. Though, I guessss you could ssay, they
all form into the sssame category. Magic and trickery while
stealing attention.." She said with a low tone while smirking.
"What about you? What have you done while with.. Them?" She
questioned, quirking a brow.

Sera listened attentively, with a smile on her face at the
strange accent the other woman possesed. “Well, yes. That makes
sense. You’re very insightful on that one.” All of Siyan’s
observations seemed logical enough, yet Sera hadn’t really taken
the time to notice just how different she was. It never really
seemed to matter until now. She had really hoped to ask about
Siyan’s… different attributes as well, but she was cut off by a
whisper of a thought. Did she know this woman? She seemed so
familiar, like yet another flicker of Sera’s past, but that was
hundreds of years ago. She shook her head and continued
listening to the woman tell of her time as a gypsy. Attention
wasn’t the only thing being stolen, Sera mused with a silent
chuckle, but she said nothing as the woman spoke. Anyone who had
ever stumbled into a crowded audience to watch the exotic and
mystical show knew of the gypsies’ secrets hidden in the darkest
corners of the crowd, and if they didn’t, they were either
ignorant or just completely oblivious.
“Ooohh… A dancing magician AND an acrobat, eh? Multi-talented we
are indeed,” Sera smiled. “I only knew of a few who were like
you and only one who really caught my attention…” she paused
with a sigh, before continuing reflectively. “I wonder whatever
became of that group?”
Sera stopped there and went on to answer Siyan’s question. “I
didn’t do very much. I was only with them for a few weeks before
our parties went our separate ways, but observing them and
spending time with them gave me a new sense of feeling. For once
I could interact with a group and be around people, if only for
a short time. I learned some new skills while I was there too.
One of the older women taught me how to sew and make new clothes
when I needed them, and a man there taught me how to watch for
signs in the surroundings for change or approaching danger. I
even learned how to dance a few steps!” She laughed thinking
about it. How silly it had been for such a clumsy giant to learn
to dance in dainty light steps. “I don’t think I could remember
them though by now. One thing I do remember though,” Sera said
as a memory flooded her senses so strongly, “is that one who
wanted me to stay. She was a beautiful girl. Won the eyes of
many a young man with her charm and her looks. Heck, even I was
taken by her lovely hazel eyes and dark voluptuous curves. But…
I couldn’t stay. As much as I wanted, I had no place with them.
The only thing I have as evidence of my time with them is this.”
Sera twiddled with the silver necklace again while looking at it
fondly, then her eyes settled back on the serpentine woman. “It
was a gift from her.”
