Re: World of Endless Random Events!!!

---------------------------------------------------------
The hesitation in the young fairies body language was
understood, as she decided against accepting the second roll.
Her behavior stated that she was full of questions; Full of
doubts... This was only natural. It wouldn't hinder the process
Ciaran had in mind at all. In fact, he was relying on it. If she
had no questions, how could he help her come up with the
answerss? And that wasn't the only thing that would be
beneficial to Ciaran. Her hesitation to enter the forest,
perhaps out of fear of its contents, would lead her to now back
away, toward the illusionary angel. Of course, he had not seen
what she saw amongst the trees. He saw only a frightened girl in
need of help. Of course, he took note of the flushed color in
her face, for not the first, but second time, but he said not a
thing about it, offering only a humble smile in response.
The way she looked at him was amusing. It was ironic to him. She
looked at him with an accusatory eye, that most normal people
wouldn't dare offer him. Of course, with his not-aggressive
appearance, it was somewhat understood, but as a being haunted
by the fears that she had, he couldn't help but see the humor in
the fact that she alone had summoned the courage to do so. And
then, it happened... All at once as if by the breaking of a dam.
She broke down, confessing the experiences and pains of her
soul. This surprised Ciaran to so bounds. He hadn't seen this
occuring, and for a moment was struck into silence. It lasted
only a brief moment, however, as the angel folded his wings
behind his back once more, and knelt down in order to look the
woman in the eye. "I know now of this 'Cheshire Cat'" He said
calmly. "But I assure you that, so long as you're in my
presence, you're perfectly safe. No harm will come to you, and
we'll work together to rid you of the nightmares. My name is
Ciaran. I'll help you, so long as you'll allow it."
She continued to crouch to the ground, and was now grabbing onto
her head. It was clear that the images from her outburst had
invaded her mind. This was where the healing would have to
begin. It worked as a form of classical conditioning that could
only be executed under the influence of Ciaran's illusions. It
worked in a very simple way, however impossibly intense. The
fearful images that wracked her mind in that moment were
weakened by a waving sensation as Ciaran looked her in the mind.
Unfortunately, without more information about the workings of
her mind, there was little Ciaran could do to influence the
specifics. For this moment, he could only lessen the fears, but
in the future, he would be able to completely change the imagery
that she was seeing. And even then it would take weeks to
permanently rid her of the images.
He looked in her eyes, resting on one knee, and nodding his head
to her. "You're safe." The confidence in his voice was
unwavering. "Tell me your name." Her explanation of the person
who once tried to help her made one thing certain. This would be
harder than anticipated. Her trust had been broken once already,
which would make it harder to truly establish. But he was
prepared to undergo whatever it took, though he was still unsure
of exactly why. "if you are going to do a task, then you best
complete it..” These words stuck with him in particular,
bringing a slight chuckle from his abdomen. "Tell you what, I'll
be by your side until you will it otherwise" He promised. He
stood to his feet, and his wings retreated into his back, giving
him a more human appearance. "Nothing will be able to hurt you.
You have my word."

Frowning softly at him, she narrowed her eyes at the man, not
quite sure whether or not to believe him. Though only one other
person in her life had ever offered her safety before, her
general trust in others had been ripped away. She wiped away one
final tear, but didn’t back away from him as he knelt beside
her. Though, she did tense at the closeness of the man, her
muscles so tight that she knew she would be gone in a flash if
he tried to deceive her. “Ciaran..” She murmured, finally
breaking eye contact and looking back down towards the grass.
She rocked back and forth on the heels of her feet slowly
finding the motion comforting. Naisha liked the sound of his
name, but secretly thought it didn’t fit his appearance. Ciaran
sounded like the name of a more mysterious character in her
mind, like that of a man who would be walking down a street with
a hood shadowing his face. A man that people would wish to know,
but would never have the courage of talking to, not this
pleasant face, outgoing stranger. Though, she didn’t disbelieve
him that it was his name, for some reason she did…It simply
didn’t fit in Naisha’s odd mind though she never questioned him
outwardly.
Closing her eyes, she let out a soft breath feeling her mind
calm as though the constant storm that occurred within her brain
had momentarily quelled. Involuntarily her muscles relaxed just
a bit, her body growing tired for the briefest of moments as she
was relaxed, though it only lasted for just a moment. Snapping
her gaze open, she shot the man beside her a dark glare, her
internal walls snapping back into place and her mind becoming a
flurry of action once more. Naisha didn’t understand what he had
been doing, but she knew it had to have been beneath his
influence since no one had been able to calm her thoughts like
that since the last man tried saving her years ago. Of course
the moment had felt good, but fear had taken over her body once
more, the fear of being vulnerable. She had felt vulnerable one
time too many, had been broken one time too many, and couldn’t
bring herself to simply trust this stranger so quickly despite
his promises.
‘You’re safe.’ She found the words a bit ironic, her lips even
twitching as though daring to smile. She felt safe, though she
hated to admit that to herself, hated how she already wanted to
let herself be weak around this man just so that he would save
her. She felt safe, even though she had vowed to never have
someone try to save her lost, tormented soul again. Naisha
stared at Ciaran for another moment allowing silence to fall
between them as she got her thoughts into order. “Naisha..” She
finally whispered before looking away to the forest. She
expected to see a set of eerie glowing eyes looking back at her,
but there was nothing. She glanced back at Ciaran for a brief
moment before allowing her eyes to drop to the ground once more,
her rocking motions had stopped she noticed, though she made no
effort to restart them.
His next words caused another wary glare from her, and now she
finally stood. “You shouldn’t promise things you don’t mean,
Ciaran.” She said, allowing his name to roll off her tongue once
more secretly pleasuring herself at the sound of it. It was a
good name, unusual and strong. Crossing her arms around her
abdomen, she turned to face the water. It threatened to turn red
for a brief moment, the dark color of blood, but the
hallucination flickered at though it malfunctioned before the
water color turned back to a crystal blue color. “Everybody
leaves someday.” She murmured quietly, more to herself then him
as she watched the waterfall water crashing into the lake,
causing a soft roar among the lands that she hadn’t paid
attention to before.
Once more she rocked back and forth on her feet slightly,
finding the movement comforting. She kept the man beside her in
her peripheral vision so that she would see if he moved, though
for the moment Naisha enjoyed the feeling of sanity in her mind
though it was undeterminable whether it was truly a brief moment
of normality, or a cruel joke. Finally she glanced down at him
finally after a long silence, one side of her lips tilting
upwards. “You aren’t going to stay forever, you know. One day
you’ll move on.” Stretching her arms outwards, she sighed as she
heard her shoulders popped. “One day someone with a more
interesting problem will come along and you’ll need to save them
too…That’s an angel’s job.” Her voice had fallen back down to a
whisper, her head cocking slightly to the side before she tore
her gaze from him and back down to the water where she looked
silently at her own reflection, her lips curving into a soft
frown at the sight.

Even with the fear in her mind calmed, the woman was still full
of doubt and questions. Ciaran could sense this, not only from
the energy radiating from her, but from her body language.
Shifting eyes; a sign of avoidance. It indicated trying to
distance herself from a thought or idea. Perhaps the thought
that she could find safety in this strange man. Teetering her
weight; A common act of self comforting. But there was an
important sign that was missing. She hadn't crossed her arms in
front of her chest. That would be a sign of distancing. An
attempt to put distance between herself and him. This was a sign
that, at the very least, she wanted to trust him. Definitely a
sign that progress was being made. He continued to take in
information through her actions, since she seemed to be lacking
words. Her muscles relaxed, eyes closed. She had let down her
guard... If Ciaran had maintained any intention of taking the
woman's soul, this would be the moment. But he had already
removed that desire.
Of course, this moment didn't last long. After only seconds, her
eyes snapped open, her guard raised once more. She was still
afraid of being vulnerable; afraid he would do exactly what he
had originally considered. Afraid that he would take away
everything she had left. But was it worth holding onto? "It's a
pleasure to meet you, Naisha." He made no attempt to shake her
hand, feeling it a bad idea. Her name. A piece of information
that he had been wondering about since laying eyes on her. It
was surprising to him that he had gotten it so easily. It was at
that moment that he began to truly understand this woman. Her
fear was powerful. But her demeanor was not a part of her
regular personality. She created a persona for the sake of her
protection. She wanted to be vulnerable. She wanted to be
protected. But she couldn't allow herself to be put in a
position to be hurt. These thoughts wandered the mans mind as
her eyes scanned the area, still searching for signs of a
threat.
"You know not what I'm capable of, Naisha." Ciaran said. He
could sense a pit of pleasure radiating from her for the first
time, though he knew not from where it originated. As their
conversation continued, his pale skin began to return to his
real, tan color. It was a slow process however, slowly darkening
as they continued to speak. And then it happened. She crossed
her arms. But not over her chest, across her stomach. This was
another comforting behavior. Trying to convince herself that she
could make it alone, perhaps. She turned away, but of course,
Ciaran could still see her face. She was blushing. This was
probably something she hadn't experienced in years.
Interesting...
Once more, the woman began rocking, seeking comfort. Not only
that, but despite the fact that she no longer faced Ciaran, she
kept a careful eye on him. She was very confused. Not sure what
she should do or belive. "I gave you my word. So long as you
wish it, I will remain by your side, and I will not allow
anything to harm you." His now tanned skin attained a radiant
glow as he spoke. "I'm not a traditional Angel. I choose my own
actions as opposed to living assingment by assignment." There
was confidence in his voice that he was more than capable of
upholding his word. But did Ciaran intend to keep it? Even he
didn't know. But he knew that he would remain as long as it took
to rehabilitate her to the best of his abilities. It wasn't like
he had anything else to do, after all..

She nodded silently as he announced the pleasure he had in
meeting her. Her emerald gaze lifted to the man before falling
upon the river beside her, her silence remained. Admiring the
clear blue color she looked down at her reflection with almost a
nonexistent fear of the hallucinations that had been known to
haunt her. An unsteady, withered hand lifted to the surface, the
reflection copying her movements until she pressed the tip of
her finger to the water causing a tiny ripple where her finger
entered and causing her image to waver.
Naisha continued to stare down upon the water even as it began
to grow a red hue. “No..”She whispered softly under her breath,
narrowing her eyes as though in an attempt to shake away the
mirage her brain was forming. Her breath grew heavier as the
lake darkened in color; her hand quaked causing the water to
shiver as well in disturbance. Gritting her teeth she felt a
bead of sweat form on her forehead and threaten to sneak down
her cheek.
A pair of golden eyes opened suddenly beneath the water, a mouth
full of bright white razor teeth smiled just inches from her
face, just below the water. “No!” She said, yet jumped back as
fear got a hold of her. Stumbling back she felt her breath
caught in her throat, wavering unsteadily as wild eyes looked
around before landing upon Ciaran. Yet as she looked back upon
the man, she noticed that it was quite apparent his image was
shifting. She felt fear catch in her throat once more as the man
she had stupidly felt herself starting to trust, change before
her. What if he was the cat? What if he was the Cheshire? Her
hand reached back as though she would be able to find a weapon
to protect herself with, though nothing but air greeted her. Her
slightly transparent wings snapped to attention despite how
malnourished they looked.
His pure skin had grown tan, his hair was growing darker..he was
becoming a darker being. Was this all a façade thinking he could
trick the poor fairy? Because she was not going to fall! Not
again! Stepping back a few more times, she stumbled once lightly
as her leg threatened to give out on her from her weariness.
“Who are you?!” She screamed, feeling her lip quiver at the fear
that twisted her chest so tightly she thought she was going to
collapse. “If you are the cat… I swear..” She mumbled, eyes wide
as she stepped back once more, muscles tense. “I swear.. you
better reveal yourself right now. RIGHT NOW!” She shouted out
once more, staring the man down. The man that she had started to
take a warming to, that she had almost started to believe would
save her once more. Was he really who she had thought he was?

It was apparent that the Fairy's fears were building up again
quickly. Everything she looked at from the waters to the Angel
before her were increasing her heart rate. She was entering a
state of panic that would be a pain to work with if he didn't
stop it soon. What exactly had Ciaran signed himself up for? He
wasn't quite sure. Of course he had dealt with extreme fears
before, but she could very well be the worst case. This could
take more time than he had originally planned, but he would be
sure to be rewarded for his efforts...When the woman's panic
brought her before him, he offered only a gentle smile, but then
began her true outbreak. When she screamed at him, he didn't
answer until he was sure she was finished, and then he spoke up.
"I'm no Cat." He said calmly. "I've told you already, I'm here
to help you overcome your fears. If you don't mind, however, I'd
like to take on a human form. It's much easier to maintain in
this realm."
After recieving her assurance, the Angel's wings would retreat
into his back. Also, his pale skin would return to it's natural
tan color. Other than that, his features did not change. "See?"
He asked calmly. "No feline features at all..." He needed to get
into her mind, but he could only do so much through the use of
an illusionary avatar. He needed to touch her mind personally,
but in order to do that, he needed her to trust him in his
normal form. Every move he made was calculated; Every word
carefully planned. This was the way of a true con-artist. But
what was his con? He had no alterior motives to speak of to this
point. Though he was sure he would come up with something soon.
"I'm going to try something, ok?" He asked her. "I think if I
can break past your mental wall, I can help erase some of your
heavier fears. But it's a powerful spell, and I need you to
remain calm..." Upon his explanation, he took a few steps away
from her, and closed his eyes He took a a few deep breaths, as
if concentrating heavily on something, and then the markings
appeared over his chest and back. The same markings that stood
on his real body. "Ok, I'm going to start now." He told her,
eyes still closed. When he opened his eyes, they had taken on a
pretty crimson color, as if they were intended to peer into her
mind and erase the doubt he had found there. He had stolen this
idea from his sister's eye color, as his true eyes were more of
a blood red. He then stepped forward, and placed his hands on
her temples. reaching into her mind to inject the emotion of
serenity. It was a temporary fix, but it would calm her down for
just long enough to do what he needed to do...

Naisha pressed her hands against either side of her face, her
nails digging into her skin as though she were trying to keep
herself in the present. In the real world. Pupils flickered back
and forth as the figure before her twisted from angel to cat to
some man that she didn’t know. Her brain hurt, her emotions
swelled and she found herself drowning internally in a sea of
wants and fears. She wanted to believe this man, but had been
deceived before. She wanted help, but was scared to trust.
History repeated itself, history always repeated itself, so
would she let herself be vulnerable again with a risk of attack?
Squinting her eyes in an attempt at focusing on this man, she
stumbled back as he approached. Her lips parted to disagree with
him, tell him to step away! Her foggy mind tried to recall what
he had said to her, she had seen his lips move but had been to
caught in her thoughts and his constant changing features.
“N-no” She squeaked out shaking as the man grew close to her.
Golden cat eyes changed to crimson eyes. Red eyes, evil eyes. A
strong face, jaw clenched in concentration and if she were in
her right mind would have taken the thought to consider him as
handsome. Yet only pure fear coursed through her veins, her
emerald eyes widened as he reached out towards her.
Without a thought but that of a trapped animal she lashed out at
him as he reached out towards her and for a brief moment thought
she would be able to fend away the predator before her. Her lips
pulled back in a grimace as her weak punches met his muscular
shoulders and chest. Her wings beat though the muscles in them
were so weak from underuse they did not lift her from the ground
anymore. “NO!” She cried out as his fingers pressed against her
temples.
The moment he touched her though her body and mind betrayed her
as a wave of forced relaxation came over her. The feeling caught
her off guard, her hands which once tried to fight him off,
pressed against his shoulders to hold her upright. Emerald eyes
met the crimson ones as though searching to see if he would
betray her, to see if he would turn into the cat. He didn’t
though. It was just this stranger with the strong face that had
put on the image of an angel before. Why though? Why…
Closing her eyes she allowed the thoughts and concerns to drift
away, relishing in the peace of her mind. Though she had been
labeled insane for years, she wasn’t idiotic. She knew this
peace wasn’t real, it was some influence under this man. She
could feel his touch on her mind and for a few minutes fought
for control over her thoughts, putting up walls in an attempt to
keep him out, but then again…What much worse could he do to her
that the cat hadn’t already done? If he killed her? At least she
would be put out of her misery! If he caused her to go truly
insane? Would it be that much different? Slowly she relaxed into
his touch, keeping a cautious mental “eye” on him as she played
in the fake, carefree world of this peacefulness her provided
her- it consisted of a time when her wings were strong, her
sisters were alive, and overall she was happy. She doubted this
man could “fix” her fully if that was his goal, and though she
would never admit it, she would be forever grateful for the few
moments of peace he was providing her with.

"Feel a little better?" Ciaran asked with the same gentle smile,
though he knew the answer. She did feel better, though he could
still feel the conflicting feelings that overcame her.
Skepticism, relief, confusion... Even with the fear forcefully
removed from her mind, she still had many layers of conflict.
However, to Ciaran's surprise, he had seen a hint of courage
amonst it all, when she attempted to fight him off. It was more
intense than the Astille had realized. But it didn't seem to be
hopeless. He knew that a complete turnaround may not have been
possible, but surely he could do SOME permanent healing... But
how should he go about it?
Perhaps classical conditioning? Positive reinforcement when she
acted calmly, and negative reinforcement when she panicked? Nor
a normal person that would work, but she had already been
conditioned far beyond what he would be capable of. She had been
conditioned to panic at all times. Other living creatures were
the enemy, and self preservation was maintained only through
escape. It could take decades to break through those lessons
with Classical Conditioning.... She probably couldn't be taught
to trust other creatures ever again. But that didn't mean she
couldn't be trained to trust individuals...
So that was when Ciaran made up his mind. He would train this
woman to trust only in him. And once that had been accomplished,
he would train her to obey. In that, He could teach her how to
discern what was a threat and what was not. As her hands rested
upon his shoulders, his hands lay gently on either side of her
waist, supporting her weight as he looked her in the eye.
"You're not in danger anymore." While his voice was strong, it
was also gentle and soothing. This was probably the closest to
her right mind that she had been in in years. So this was the
best time to talk to her. "I told you that I would protect you,
and that's what I intend to do.
This location was probably no longer fitting. Her mind would
surely have associated it with all the fears that had built up
over time. But then, her home, if she had such a thing, would
have the same problem. The woman needed a new place, that she
hadn't labeled as dangerous in her mind. A place that was new,
and untainted. Ciaran had the perfect place in mind. His fathers
Dojo had always been intended for training. It was secure, and
no outsider would be intruding. "If you'ld like, I could take
you to a safer location." He told her. It seems you're not too
fond of the woods or the water here..."

She relished in the quiet tranquility of her mind, allowing
herself to be in the presence of her two sisters for a few more
moments. Naisha savored the feeling of her wings beating and
actually sustaining her weight in the air. She floated in the
peaceful abyss of happiness, a feeling she hadn’t felt in years.
While in this dream world she didn’t try to speak to her sisters
for she knew that it was all a mirage in a sense, a memory.
Ciaran’s voice reinforced that she was simply in a dream world
though she did not feel bitter about it. Waving her sister’s
images away, she slowly opened her eyes, just a crack as though
in fear it would not be a man in front of her but a cat.
Though Ciaran had cleared the fear from her body, he may never
be able to fix the constant anticipation and jumpiness she had
that the creature may appear from the shadows though hopefully
he would be able to squelch the hallucinations. Hopefully..
Allowing her green eyes to open she met his crimson colored
gaze. Eyes that she once thought were evil now captured her for
a moment as she thought about what a unique and even…pretty
color they were.
Shaking her head she pushed back away from him. She was grateful
to Ciaran but she was not just about to cozy up to him, for she
had been bruised in the heart by a man once before and wasn’t
willing to try that again. At least, not for now. Wrapping her
arms around herself she allowed her wings to stretch out and
groaned softly as they reached their full extent, aches traveled
down the muscles and into her spine from the lack of use. Since
it was day time they were transparent, it was only during the
night that they turned into what called magical. Casting her
gaze away from the man and over the lake and woods she nodded
lightly as a shiver ran through her body.
She wanted to leave more than anything.. but what if the cat
still had her sister’s alive? What if he was keeping them
captive in those woods? What if he hadn’t really killed them
right in front of her? Closing her eyes for a moment she exhaled
softly trying to push the invading thoughts away. She had held
their deceased bodies when she had found them; in reality they
were truly dead though she still had a tough time accepting that
at time. Focusing back on Ciaran, she opened her eyes and nodded
again lightly trying to look more determined and confident then
she felt. If she really agreed to this man she would be
traveling with someone that she still practically considered a
stranger, someone she was thankful to but not sure she totally
trusted yet. “I would like that.” She murmured as she looked up
to him and then locked her jaw so that she couldn’t change her
mind. If she wanted to get on with her life she needed to start
over new and maybe this was her chance.
