Cal knew behind the smile he plastered onto his lips, distrust
lay beneath the intentions of his hand as it reached for a
hidden weapon. However, the woman could care less what he feared
or thought he knew. After everything Es had given up for her,
she would never harm one of her children. It was expected that
he be upset and withdrawn, considering he still thought his mom
dead. Overly excited, Cal opened up her mouth but then a shadow
of doubt roamed over her eyes. Was it better this way?
Certainly, he would be happier thinking Es was dead than to know
what had happened. But as Cal stared at his wounded demeanor,
she knew it would be cruel of her not to leave a string of hope;
even if the hope was futile. So, Cal grabbed his hand and turned
him around to face her and then sat down, hoping he would follow
and sit beside her. Still holding his hand, knowing he would
need something real to hold onto when nothing else made sense,
she began to tell him what had happened.
“When Es, your mother I mean, died her soul went to paradise. I
was one of the higher angels in Heaven and was in charge of
showing her around. It is unusual, yet possible, for a soul to
be broken and saddened by the events which happened before it
leaves a body. Es was very heart broken and for weeks she would
not speak, not even to me. First off, you need to understand
that in Heaven time moves differently than here. For instance, I
am three hundred years old here but in that realm, I was old
enough to see the fall of Satan,” Cal explained, her thumb
running over his hand knowing the next part would be hard for
him to here. “Es was married, or at least I assumed since she
never spoke about her husband but always spoke about her son and
daughter. She was such a sweet woman but so sad so when Gabriel
and her started talking, I was so thrilled. When Gabriel and Es
started seeing each other, I tried to help sneak them around as
much as possible. It’s forbidden for such a love to take place
in Heaven and eventually the head of angels found out. He
destroyed Gabriel in a fight and sent Es and I a first way
ticket to Hell.”
At this point Cal let go of his hand knowing that she would be
unable to look him in the eye. “I was sentenced to a life of
serving other demons needs and well, Es, caught Satan’s eye. She
became his favorite wife, not by her choosing of course, and he
then raped her. Es became pregnant, but was unsure of whose it
belonged to, and told Satan that he was a father. The Devil was
happy that he would gain another prize and Es was able to trick
him into giving up a portion of his powers to ‘protect’ the
baby. The only way you can leave Hell is if you have a piece of
him within you. So, after a few weeks she came to me and rescued
me and her and I made our escape.”
Cal took a breath and met his eyes again. There was more, but Es
should be the one to tell him. Cal had already spoken so much
and this left her feeling guilty. “Because of her kindness,
Kota, I am free. You have no idea what I had to suffer. I owe
her my life.”

What the hell had just happened, one moment she was more distant
than ever now she had grasped his hand holding it in a gentle
caress. If there were such a thing as extreme bipolar, this girl
must have it. He turned and met her eyes trying to fight back
the single thought of tears eve. he could see that something was
about to destroy everything of his shields. he wanted to run and
get away from this woman as fast he could, he had to; to
complete his mission. Still his body was almost frozen in time
as he listened to her begin this story. His eyes grew hopeful
for a moment as he mentioned he finding paradise, but of course
things like that wouldn't last for his loving mother. she had
always done so much for him and he could never do a damn thing
for her.
Still fighting back the sadness he listened intently peaking his
thoughts at points as he watched her expressions. His Mother had
lost everything; her children and her husband just everything
over and over again, and then used as some sex toy for Satan
himself; it tempted Kota to make a special trip to hell this
very same instant. The woman's hand had left his by that point,
and it was a good thing as his sharp claw like nails dug into
his own skin, in a tightly clenched fist. Still as she finished
the tale he was proud. So very proud of his mother who had
fought all of this time for them and now.... wait... Did that
mean his mother had returned to this plane?
He wanted to ask, but before he could, his head clouded with
such a pain and he looked up to hear a whistle that was deathly
to the ears. A shimmering Black Light was coming towards them
filled with all the ferocity of fire. " watch out!" He shouted
to her and before he could do anything he realized it was
pointless. The Beam had only a single target. The energy hit him
and he screeched in pain as he crumpled over and int he very
next moment it was done again. His body had a misty black smoke
that came from it. The Marks upon his body shimmered a shadow
black color for the moment. " what the hell.." Had his shadow
mark just taken a new form?" He wasn't sure if he had frightened
her but he tried to look at her with the blue eyes. "umm your
alright, right?" He was overly confused, so much was happening
but he had to get that question out, he had to.
He cracked some of his bones ad the shadow like smoke faded and
he controlled the new power with little ease. His teeth gritting
as he growled through the pain of it. "You said, that the two of
you escaped, what happened with that Is My Mother here on this
plane?" He sighed trying to push off the pain, he probably
should have rested but this glimmer of hope had him intoxicated
beyond what any drink could ever do for him. "I don't mean to
sound so forward but I have to see her if she is on this plane,
I have to. there are so many things I don't know.." he looked
away slightly trying to push off the thoughts and the pain and
then giving in he took a seat next to her once more digging his
fingers into the earth below as he just rested waiting for her
to respond.

His anger was to be expected, but the light and pain he
experiences was not. Unafraid, Cal did not budge from the seat
next to him as she watched the tattoos in admiration. However,
his pain was radiating towards her and to say it was easy to
bare was a lie. No emotion passed through Cal’s facial features
as she closes her eyes and sighs heavily. One of her gifts on
this earth was that she could feel people’s pain and help them
deal with it. It was a selfish gift because she could never help
her own pain. Twitching her fingers in her lap, the pain he was
experiencing was cut into half. This would only be in effect
until they separated; Cal was still unsure how to use her gift
over long distances.
Cal’s jaw flexed as her expression hardened as she watched Kota
writhe still in agony. As to his questions, Cal was unsure how
to answer them. This is where it becomes tricky; where the hope
seems small. Clearing her throat, Cal answered his question with
another question.
“Kota, I have the ability to take you and I to her, however, are
you sure you want to see her right now?” she asked remembering
the last time she had seen Es. The baby had begun taking its
toll on Es’s body. Whether it was Satan’s son or Gabriel’s son,
it was still part immortal and her body just could not stand up
to the task of carrying the burdensome power it possessed. It
had always been Cal’s fear that Es’s soul could break this time,
since her body was still classified as dead.
“First of all, I need you to understand that she is still
technically dead. Es is not a zombie or anything, but in her
earthly body she was able to contain her power well. In her
other world form, the energy is free to roam around her. If she
gets upset it could piss off the energy balance and kill her as
well as the baby. This does not mean you can’t touch her, but
you will be dealing with something that should not be here,” she
explained as she extended her hand to him, ready to take him to
his mother.

Despite everything Kota Nodded and agreed to the conditions. he
was a tad worried but he would deal, He had to see her.
