Pointed ears picked up a voice, they were having
conversation? People looked so sickly though! Frowning a bit, I
looked around and decided creeping up to them wouldn't be of any
good decision. Adorning a dress of orange, I kept my composure
and slinked to the crowed. Tenderly brushing fingers along the
random people who were traveling, I kept a gentle smile as
warmth would caress flesh and mend the anatomical wounds that
gathered upon anyone I made contact with. Though this would
certainly prove to be draining, there was no harm in helping
them. If there was some how a bad idea to this, or rather, a bad
result of helping; then I'd take the blame fully and accept
punishment. Making my way to the wall of ancient, I took note of
what they were saying. So they were trying to look for some form
of protection? That wouldn't be too hard to gain, right? 'I'd
just have to collaborate with them, figure out a way I can help.
I don't want to do anything that would make them angry.'
Thinking these words, I kept them to myself for the time being
as I continued through the crowd. It took me off guard when I
felt a small hand pulling at dainty phalanges of my own,
blinking a few times in surprise, my odd appearance might've set
some people off. These people looked nothing like me, nor did I
to them. So when bruning orange eyes turned down to see a little
boy, I was quite shocked. He didn't seem scared of me at all!
How curious! Kneeling down, a smile present upon my lips, I
chuckled lightly and tilted my head. "What is it?" I asked
quietly, smiling still. There was no response, he simply made a
gesture to be picked up. Puzzling, I did as requested and he
seemed to hide in the nape of my neck. Was my appearance
comforting? I wasn't sure. For the time being, I let it slide as
I looked around for the boy's mother but gained no reaction. How
saddening, was his mother around? Was she lost? No idea. I
simply continued to walk towards the two mean conversing. Once I
arrived a good distance away, I spoke freely. "Might I just ask
what it is all of you are doing here? I over heard the speak of
need of protecting with height advantage.."

I shook my head. "This is the closest castle in all the south.
These people cannot be completely uprooted...this is the best we
have." I said to the man, then turned to see the woman holding a
child, who voiced her own concerns, but she seemed to have no
idea about the situation at hand. She was certainly an odd one
indeed. "Most of the people here are refugees fleeing their own
villages for the relative safety of the castle and its walls. A
group of people known as the Eagle Worshipers has been raiding
villages and killing innocent men women and children in
sacrifice to their violent gods. Emperor Kilvan Ateri has sent a
legion of imperial troops to reinforce the area, and snuff out
the eagle worshipers so that the people can return to their
homes and be safe from harm." I then turned back to the man, who
offered to help...make defenses? "Well...I suppose building some
trap holes and embankments around the castle certainly wouldn't
hurt..." I told him.

At the moment the man spoke, I felt the tightened grip
of the child and a small frown creased plush flesh. "I see.. It
seems this boy has had a troublesome time.. I'll do what ever I
can to help." Gently twining phalanges through the child's
locks, I smiled lightly. "I'll do what ever I can to help, yet
for now, I have to leave. I'll return in a few hours, in this,
I'll be able to aid more proficiently. If possible, gather
wounded and sick into one area so I can tend to them when I
return. Also.. Please take care of him." Sighing lightly, I
crouched down and set the boy down. "Be good." With that, I
scattered and was gone once more to retrieve supplies to help.

" I see..then we must try to reinforce this place as best we

to help as well. I grinned with delight at the man's
acceptance. The cold aura emitting from my body that felt like
something was clawing lightly up your back and nipping at your
neck. My desire to dig was going be continued, and soon I would
have even more strength. I'm sort of glad I landed up here,
because not only do I get to dig, I get to start a new and be
remembered for my help and not my terror. "Splendid..You will
not regret it..Sir...?.."

I blinked in shock as the woman disappeared, but was reassured
by the fact that she intended to help and was bringing supplies,
which would be much needed if the population kept increasing.
"Father Amadeus, see that this child is taken to the castle and
placed with the Nurturers." Many things could be said about the
south, but one thing they did was take care of each other when
the time called for it. Many were volunteering to adopt or to at
least take care of displaced children. The Father nodded, now
off his horse and among the crowd, led the boy toward the
palace. "I'll take you to Samantha, she's a kind woman. She and
her two daughters have been very helpful, so I've heard..." He
said as he left the group. I turned back to the man as he spoke,
and bowed to him from my horse. "There is no need for titles
here. I am Rokku Hizori, and you may call me such. And your
name, good sir?"

until every hole is finished..And your embankments of course." I
began to walk towards the outside of the castle walls, still
grinning with such pleasure. No other person took so much

The only one, the only one, who else would be of time?
My only thing was that I could not change nor could I dwell.
There was much to be done in the few minutes congregated and I
certainly was not going to allow myself to let anyone down.
Whisked colorful locks shrouded flesh as I manifested the
particles that were my anatomical structure. Liquidated rainbow
inks colored locks and shrouded me as the orange dress I was
wearing. Looped around my arms were bags that seemed to be made
of living ink. In them rested a vast variety of supplies. Not
wasting even a single moment, pointed ears twitching lightly as
I didn't seem to even care of carrying myself with grace, simply
running. That boy, he was so hurt. It was breaking my heart to
see such things. I wanted everyone smiling, happy. That's all I
had ever wanted was to make people happy. Though I had never
seen these types of people, these kinds of creatures, I still
wondered if they could smile.
Happiness reigned through all creatures though, didn't it? I
wasn't sure, but curiosity would prove bullheaded as it tended
to never let me go. So it seemed the two males had settled on an
agreement of help. The darker lad seemed to be enjoying himself,
so I didn't bother with going near him. Yet I went directly to
the one who seemed to be the one in control of the group. For
the time being anyways. Never sure how these creatures operated.
Whether it be in dictatorship, anarchy, there was no telling
really. I simply remembered my own place and how things were
okay for the time being. Yet, as the male had said before,
uprooting these people from their homes entirely was crude. Else
I would've already offered fortress at my own home. This would
do fine though, there were things I could do to help and I would
complete tasks. Once I reached him, I looked around for the
child and nearly became frantic before realizing that they
must've taken him to be looked after.
Calming down nearly instantaneously, I let out a tender sigh.
The bags of living ink that carried the plethora of supplies
hooked upon slender limbs as I looked up at the man with
smoldering orange pools. "Okay.. I'm back! I'll take care of the
wounded and sick. It wont take me long, so after that.. I can
reinforce the wall and look for high ground. Or build it if
you'd like. I only have one question for you, sire."I tilted my
head quizzically, letting colorful threads fall over my face
slightly. "Would you mind informing me what creatures you are?
I'm well aware of the anatomical structure these people hold,
the ones I've come in contact with, but I'm unaware of the
species. I've never come across the likes of your kind, if you
don't mind, shall we walk and talk? We should collaborate on the
structure of the wall and what kind of design you need for the
high stations. So I can adequately suffice to those needs." With
that, turning on the balls of my bare feet, I started to walk
through the groups of people.
Tending to them easily and sweetly, I gently grazed phalanges
across flesh and took care of wounds. Giving twists and bursts
of anatomic level needs to allow these creatures to heal within
moments and be cured of their illnesses. It took quite a lot of
energy, but as long as I kept the ink bags close to me, I would
be just fine. Giving supplies in rations and good quantities, I
awaited answers to questions I had previously asked while
conversing with a few people to aid them without fear of my
hurting them. "On the structure of the wall, reinforcing it will
be easy. Though it will take some time, it shouldn't be too much
of an issue. I can also alter the wall's defensive structure to
strengthen it and place platforms for seekers or cririons."
Blinking a few times, I turned my eyes back to the man with a
small frown. "I'm sorry, I'm unsure if you even know what I"m
talking about. You might call them something different. Bow and
arrows and blades man. I Guess would be the simplest
description." Smiling, I continued with my work without
hesitation.

I nodded to the man. "I sense you work alone, but we have plenty
of soldiers to help you dig and move rocks and roots you will
likely run into. I will also have a plan drawn up as to where to
place the embankments, how high they need to be, what angles,
and what other materials will be needed for them. Also...I feel
a wooden palisade surrounding the castle will also be
beneficial...tell me if you feel the earth will be able to
handle such construction, if you would." I said, then turned to
see the woman return.
I looked at the woman quizzically. She was an odd one indeed,
there was certainly no refuting that. However, her willingness
to help was both inspiring and comforting. "Well...we are
humans. The priests have some specific name for us from some
ancient language, but human is a much simply word." I said with
a small smile. I dismounted my horse and had two soldiers lead
him off to the stables, and walked next to the woman as she
healed the sick and wounded. "The priests will be very
appreciative of your head in healing these people. Healing takes
a lot of energy, and even powerful healing mages become weary
after a time. As for the wall...honestly I fear to try altering
it at all...the Eagle worshipers are known for surprise raids,
and opening up the wall to reinforce it from the inside would be
like leaving our gates open." I said, looking around to really
see what we had to work with. There were no towers along the
walls, and only one central tower of the castle, but there were
arrow slots all over it, that could easily cover the entire area
beyond both walls. "We could do some reinforceing from the
inside...as you said, raised platforms for archers and spearmen
to attack over the walls...perhaps a few rock traps and boiling
oil pitchers...Also, we can construct several large platforms to
accommodate ballistae, catapults, and the modified Sun Rays." I
said, scanning the outer wall. "Oh, forgive me. I am Rokku
Hizori, and may I ask your name?"

encountered many in my days, this shovel will the job nicely.
When your plans are finished deliver them to me ..Until then.."
I continued walking until I was outside the castle. I began to
plot where the holes would be most effective, most likely the
entrances through the forest. I quickly began shoveling away at
the ground. With each heave of dirt, my strength grew and grew,
how the adrenaline was rushing through me. "Dig..dig..dig..."

Listening him speak, I was quite surprised that these
fragile creatures were 'humans'. Saying nothing, simply
listening as I continued on with the work I was doing. There
really was no point in speaking till the other was done else
there would be things left out of the conversation. Tilting my
head a bit, I looked at him with a perplexed expression when he
finished speaking. "Pardon? You are humans? Well isn't that a
surprise.. I was always told that humans were creatures to be
feared and never gone near.. Yet you all don't seem like much to
be feared when not threatened." Trailing off for a moment, I
looked to the people who needed healing and care and simply
continued doing so as I talked. "It's certainly no problem at
all.. I come around here in hopes of coming across odd things..
So I was already here when you all came about. I would've
supplied my home for you all, but it's much too far away from
these people's homes.. I'd never wish for them to be uprooted so
crudely."
Sighing a bit, I gently ran the back of my wrist across my
cheek. Today was certainly going to be eventful. "So I'll
continue to bring supplies and tend to them. Healing isn't hard
at all, it is draining, but as long as I have some form of
liquidated structure of myself around me, then I can continue
for quite some time. Think of it as like an outer energy
source." Eyeing the surroundings for a moment, I then turned my
vision back to him. "Rokku Hizori? A lovely name. I am simply
Aku. I would say it's a pleasure to meet you, but it's not under
these circumstances. As for the wall, I wouldn't have to open it
up to do any form of reinforcement. Platforms I can manage."
Looking around for a few moment, the realization of fighting
finally hit me. So they were going to have some form of battle?
Well I wasn't much use there other than healing and keeping
people alive.. But I guess that's all that a battle was, was who
ever was last one standing. "Simply tell me what needs to be
done, dear and I'll get it done as quickly as possible."
Smiling, I continued my work.
