Re: The Dragons Den
By: Raijuta Date: August 13, 2012, 8:13 pm

The intensity of the moment was more than the Draconian Ancient
could have expected. Everything from the woman's lips to her
hands was so soft... And yet so aggressive and sure... Despite
the inner confusion she clearly felt, her desire was
unmistakeable. Raijuta's hands explored her body freely as the
two slid across the floor to the bed, He too, was sure of what
he wanted in that moment, even if he wasn't sure of what was
right. His hand met with the side of her face as she pulled him
onto the bed, and he remained over her as his intensity
deepened, his passion growing with each moment, for even if his
mind wavered, his heart was solid.
When the woman caught her senses, and broke the kiss, Raijuta
released a shallow breath, an icy mist flowing from his lips,
and past Soraya's. He knew well what was to come when she spoke
his name. They were finished . Whether for the moment, or for
good, he couldn't say, but he accepted this reality, and though
he couldn't bring himself to completely remove himself from her,
he slowly backed his face away from hers.
For possibly the first time in his life, goosebumps formed on
his skin as the woman took his hand. He was unsure what to
think, or what to anticipate, and all he could do was listen for
the woman's words. When she told him she had to go, and
requested that she be able to come back, the blonde haired owner
of the house didn't respond. For a moment, he was silent,
neither speaking, nor moving. Eventually, he slid his fingers
from betwixt hers, and stood to his feet, beckoning with a
slight head tilt for the woman to come along. He walked over to
lift her things from the floor, and then turned to face the
woman, a sincere smile on his face as he wrapped his arm around
her waist affectionately. "I'll be right here waiting." His
words may have been of his physical location, but his aura spoke
of his heartwhich would similarly wait for word from the woman.
It was all he could do, after all...

There were a million words that could describe this moment...
Bittersweet... Heartwrenching... Confusing... But there was no
word that could describe exactly what Raijuta felt. There was
such a strain on his heart... but it wasn't necessarily bad...
He felt the anticipation of a possible future, as well as the
pain of an uncertain farewell. He didn't falter, however,
holding the woman close in a moment that the both of them could
surely use each others comfort. When the movement of her arms
altered, it caused his arm to shift as well, his hand finding
it's new resting place in her back pocket. She may have felt
that her words needed to be spoken, but he knew well that they
were true before her lips ever parted, for while he knew that
she had to leave, he absolutely hated to see her go. "I
know..." He said calmly to her
"I don't want to see you leave." He continued, Emerald green
eyes peering past her own eyes and into her soul. "But I know
that there are things that need to be handled." For a few more
moments, he held on to her, neither moving nor speaking; simply
taking solace in her presence. The very essence of her was
soothing.
He finally parted from the woman, and offered her A final smile
before walking toward his bedroom door. He lead her down the
stairs, and to the front door, before opening the door, and
allowing her to walk through it first. If he had to see her go,
he should at least be able to watch her leave... Once They were
outside, He extended his hand, and a portal similar to the one
they had used to get there. He then took her bag off of his
shoulder, and placed it on hers before offering one last hug.
"Good luck." He told her, backing away enough to look her in the
eye. "I l..."
He stopped himself before saying something that he couldn't take
back. He had surely made things hard enough for her already, so
he looked at her once more, and smiled. "I'll see you soon." Of
course, neither of them was truly sure of that, but if he could
speak it into existence, he would surely try. With that, he took
a step back, and allowed the woman to make her passage back to
the Tyretian home.

Her words were more than he could have anticipated... As a
result, his eyes widened, and found their way to hers. There was
only a moments hesitation to affirm that what he had heard was
real before he responded. "I love you too..." In truth, he
always had. Ever since they first met, years and years ago. Back
then he hadn't been able to express it, but he wouldn't keep his
feelings from her any longer. "I have for years. Since before we
parted ways, and I found myself here and alone." He embraced her
as she pressed herself against him once again. He knew she
didn't want to leave, but it surprised him greatly to hear her
say that she was unable. She needed to work things out with the
family, and in truth, so did he. But if she wouldn't leave on
her own, there was no way he could bring himself to make her.
He felt complete with her body against his once more. He
returned the kiss and snaked his arms around her, the portal
behind her back slowly closing as he held her tightly "Welcome
home..." His words couldn't have carried more meaning... In his
eyes, this had always been her home, even if she wasn't present.
That's why he had always maintained her room. But if she was
indeed here to stay, then she would no longer need that room...
Before he could speak any further, the realms began to change.
The sun in the sky faded, only to be replaced by a flaming moon.
The gorgeous blue sky turned a blood red/orange mix, and the
beautiful grassy valley became a land of fire and Brimstone. The
Red Fire Dragon had laid his claim over the lands for the time
being. Upon this realization, Raijuta quickly ushered the woman
back into the house, where the elements could not reach...

From the moment the two stepped back through the portal, and
made their way into the Manor, Raijuta knew that something had
shifted. The ominous cloud that had plagued the Tyretian
homeland had followed them home, and it was apparent in Soraya's
behavior. She ignored him... Wouldn't even look at him... And
simply headed up the stairs and locked herself in a vacant room.
She didn't even bother to use the room that had been set aside
for her... For the duration of that day, Raijuta didn't speak.
He didn't attempt to knock on her door. He didn't eat. He didn't
even spend much time in the house, choosing instead, to go
outside and tend to the Dragons. While here, he didn't have to
hold his Dragon Spirit within his body. It could roam free in
the lands and interact with the other Dragons. And while he
didn't hold Xanther within him, his body temperature wasn't
quite as cold. Though the Dragon's in the land regarded him as
their Lord, they each had minds of their own, and most didn't
care much to interact with him. However, on this day, they
seemed to do more caring for him than he did for them, with
light nuzzles, or whatever they could attempt to cheer his
clearly aching heart...
Eventually, however, he made his way back home, and up the
stairs. He stopped before Soraya's door briefly, but only
released a sigh, before walking to his room. She needed time to
sort out her own feelings, and he would honor that. Normally,
Raijuta would never sleep with his door open. It was a mechanism
built into him during his days training as an assassin. The door
was the first wall of defense, and gave him time to react should
there be an intruder. Now, however, he left his door slightly
open, in case Soraya should need him. His open door would be a
sign that he was available to her; That she was free to come to
him at any time. Sleep didn't come easily to him that night, nor
the next. In fact, the next week was quite repetitive. He spent
his days out in the Dragon's Den, bonding with the various
Dragon Spirits that resided there, including the one that
belonged to Soraya, who only appeared for limited times before
rejoining her. Every night he stopped in front of her door.
Every night, he left his door cracked, and every night he had
trouble sleeping. He would occasionally hear her leave her room
once he was securely tucked into his bed, but he never tried to
go out and catch her, figuring that she didn't want to see him.
Perhaps she resented him for taking her away from what she had
in the Tyretian homeland....
By the time the second week arrived, Raijuta decided that he
needed to do something more productive with his time. Since
inheriting the Divine Dragon from Magnus, he had a whole new set
of abilities, that he didn't truly know how to control. He
hadn't had much time to practice, and now was as good a time as
any. Tossing his emotions and hurt feelings to the side, he
poured all his energy into training, having the Dragons as
coaches, assistants, sparring partners and moving targets. He
quickly began to get the hang of some techniques, such as
control over matter. Other techniques he had a harder time with.
And No matter how hard he tried, he was unable to produce even
the smallest flame. He ate for the first time ater 16 days of
their arrival at the house, when Xanther and Shockwave delivered
him three large fish, concerned for his welbeing. He ate two of
them, smiled to the large reptilian beasts, and made his way
inside.
By the third week without hearing from the woman he had put his
heart on the line for, Raijuta had grown quite adept at his
mastery over Space and Matter. He had even gained some slight
skill in the arts of time and gravity. Meanwhie, however, the
man's hopes had started to dwindle. Soraya only left her room
when she knew she wouldn't see him. The only reason he knew she
was still in the house was the occassionally flushing of a
toilet. Surely she hated him for what he had done to her, and
only remained because she had nowhere to go. On many occasions
he considered telling her that she didn't have to stay if she
didn't wish. But she already knew that. The last time she wished
to leave, she left, and she would surely do the same this time.
By the twenty-second day, Raijuta began closing his door before
he went to sleep, fully convinved that his uncertain future with
Soraya was now just a daydream that would never have become a
reality. He understood that she had to mourn her losses, and
that, during that process, any romantic interaction with him
would be a hindrance, but for her to be so obviously avoiding
him at all costs... That was something completely different. He
began to wonder if that cloud would ever drift away...
Of course, through every cloud, a beam of light would shine
eventually. And if you're lucky enough, you'll be able to see
it. After a long night of restlessness,Raijuta finally started
to doze off, when he heard his door open slightly, stirring the
cautious man out of his sleep.. Narrow eyes peered through the
dark room to see Soraya sliding in as if on some sort of covert
mission. What was she after? It could be his life, but he was
doubtful of that. When she climbed into the bed with him, his
head tilted slightly, but did not speak. For a long moment, he
didn't even move. He simply stared at the ceiling, wondering
what had brought about such an event. Deciding that the reason
didn't matter, he wrapped his arm around the dark haired beauty,
and allowed himself to drift off into the most peaceful sleep
he'd had since their arrival.

When Soraya slipped into the bed with Raijuta, he hadn't
considered the events that were bound to take place when they
awakened. Surely there was a long talk ahead of them, but in the
moment, he could only enjoy the feeling of serenity that her
presence provided him with. When he awakened though, his mind
was unable to focus. It couldn't find a place to begin. There
was the matter of why she was moving so much, The pain that he
had suffered for the past several weeks, The arousal that he
felt in response to her body against his.... Arousal seemed to
be winning, as the more he awakened, the more he realized how
much he could feel through the thin fabric of her shirt. It was
indeed as if she were nude, as he could feel one of her hardened
nipples against his cool skin. It was a wonder she could sleep
with him throughout the night, even if his aura wasn't brutally
cold while in his home. The tips of his fingers lightly grazed
the side of her hip as he stretched, making a low groaning noise
as his muscles adjusted to being active once more. Eyes barely
opened, he turned and planted a single kiss on the side of her
neck, before falling into a resting position once more.

When Soraya got up and exited the room without so much as a
word, Raijuta's mind began to wander yet again. Why would she
come sneak into his bed, and then leave without so much as a
word? For a moment, he began to wonder if her voice had
abandoned her after the stress that he had put her through. The
thought also crossed his mind that heat from the outside had
somehow leaked into the house, and she had simply come to lay
with him in order to cool herself down... He quickly pushed that
thought from his mind as well. It wasn't characteristic of her.
For the entire time she was gone, he lay facing the ceiling, his
mind trying to wrap itself around her behavior to no avail. But
after a while, she returned with breakfast; And more... modestly
dressed. Slightly, at least. He accepted his plate, and returned
her smile. "Good Morning." He echoed, still a little at ends
about what to think about the two of them.
He stared at his plate for a moment. He hadn't eaten since the
two fish that the Dragons had brought him, so his body reacted
to the sight of the food with a loud rumble from his stomach.
With the very tip of his finger, he chilled the meat, colling
both the bacon and sausage until they had a nice layer of frost
surrounding them. He then age them quickly, and without
hesitation. Once the meat was gone, he slowly began cutting into
and eating his pancakes, remaining silent through his meal. He
didn't, however, eat the eggs, instead pushing them around his
plate with his fork. Whenever he saw eggs, he thought of baby
Dragons, even though he knew Dragon eggs could provide a much
larger meal than the small bird eggs on his plate, he didn't
like the idea of eating eggs.
As he played with his eggs, he tried to think of the words he
needed to say to the preparer of his meal. Over the past several
weeks there had been many questions he wanted to ask her; Many
things he wanted to tell her. But now that he had the
opportunity, it was like there was a lump of ice caught in his
throat. Several deep breaths, and he managed to raise his head
from his plate and look at her, but he was still unsure what to
say. He couldn't formulate full sentences, so all he could
manage was a word. "Why?"

Raijuta's one word question proved more useful than he had
expected. The ambiguity of the question warranted answers to
several questions that had plagued his mind. The answer to the
first question irritated him a bit. The logic was flawed and he
didn't believe that she had truly thought the results of her
actions through. He didn't say anything, however, only continued
to listen. What she ole him next, was naturally what he wanted
to hear... But why did the road to getting there have to be so
torturous? He finally took a deep breath, and prepared to
respond to all that he had been told. "I understand you needing
to deal with the issues that you were going through, but what do
you mean I didn't -deserve- to deal with it? Did I -deserve- to
be ignored, and wonder if the pain in my heart was for nothing?
I told you years ago, that you always had a home here. Stop
thinking of yourself as a guest! We should be here to help each
other!" His brows furrowed slightly as he expressed his feelings
about what she had to say. When she took his hand in hers, he
looked at it, before squeezing her hand in return. "You never
needed my forgiveness." He said, before planting a kiss on the
back of her hand. "You dealt with your feelings the best way
you knew how..."

Rai remained completely calm during Soraya's outburst. Not once
did his eyes widen, nor his lips curl as he listened to the
woman's rantings. He was no fool. He knew that he couldn't hold
her and make her problems go away. But the release she was
getting now had been building for well over a month. It didn't
have to get this intense... He didn't argue with anything she
said, however, until she said that she was a guest here. At that
point, he shook his head. "You're wrong." He said calmly. "I
build this entire dimension as a home to our kind. So no matter
what the worlds out there threw at us, we would have a home to
return to. " He wrapped his arm around the woman as she wept,
and held her close. "Have you even looked in your old room since
you got here?" He asked. hanging from the inside of the door was
a key on a necklace that would let her into the door. Also,
channeling her energy through the key would instantly transport
her to the porch. Each Draconian that made a home here had one,
as it was a tool only they could use. But he had never had the
opportunity to present hers to her....
"I've never been certain of anything." He told her, beginning
his own confession. "Anything I've held dear in life has always
escaped me at some point. My family separated, or killed off,
Every one of my teammates is dead. Do you think it doesn't scare
me how much I love you? Do you have any idea what I would go
through if something happened to you?" His hand met with the
back of her head at that moment, guiding it into the crook of
his neck. "But I'll never let that happen. This will be your
home, and as long as you live within it, I'll make sure that
I'll never have to lose you, nor will I allow you to lose me."
All he could do was hold her close... Words meant little as they
sat there, releasing feelings that had likely been building for
years...

He shook his head in response to the woman's thanks. They
weren't needed. Every word he spoke to her was truth from his
heart, and for that, there was no need for courtesy. H planted a
kiss on her forehead, and smiled, before almost being dragged to
her old room. It had been untouched since her last departure,
other than the occasional dusting. So it was mostly empty. A few
stuffed animals and a comforter set. He made his way to her
pillow, however, where there was another key sitting. He picked
it up, and walked over to her, placing it on the necklace with
the key to her room, which he stared at for a moment, before
removing. "You don't have to keep this." He said, holding it up.
"Your room is at the end of the hall with me." He looked out the
door as if he could see his room from there, and then placed the
room key on the bed before turning his attention to the key he
had retrieved.
"This is the Key to the house." He told her, placing the
necklace back around her neck. "It's also the key to this
dimension. Only a Draconian can use it. If you just channel a
small amount of energy through it, it will transport you to the
front porch from anywhere." There were a lot of things he would
have to teach her if she was truly going to remain. The nature
of the shifting realms. How to care for the Dragons... But that
would all come with time. For now, the world was hers. "This is
your day." He said to her. His words had two meanings. The first
was that, for this day, Anything she asked was hers. Anything he
could offer, was hers. The second may not have been so obvious.
But she would know with time....

Her request was a simple one, but it was actually quite
convenient. He nodded his head, kissing her in return and taking
her hand. "I don't mind the food being cooked." He said to her.
"It adds to the flavor. I just like to re-freeze it before I
eat. It's one of the traits I picked up from bonding with
Xanther, I suppose." As he walked her down the stairs, and out
the front door, he was pleased with the sight that was presented
to them. It was the realm of the Divine Dragon. The only realm
that ever saw true daylight. The grass was green and the waters
were blue. This was the best land to take a walk in. There were
many things he could show her if they were going for a walk, the
most Grandeur of them, of course, being the dozens of Dragon
Spirits that roamed this land. Many of them were wild, having
bonded with no master. Those Dragons didn't care for interaction
with Raijuta, or any of the mixed-blooded Draconians. They were
the true Ancients... Proud, and rowdy. However, even they would
likely bond with a Draconian one day, and they would either be
tamed, or become the end of the Draconian Master they were fated
for.
Many of the Tame Dragons roamed the realm on a day like this.
They were calm, and friendly toward the Draconians, unlike their
untamed Bretheren. Xanther and Shockwave could be seen resting
far out on the water, while Prince was patrolling the area near
the Manor. There were forests, Caves, and many other landmarks
spread out much farther than the eye could see. "Which way are
we going, love?" He asked, as he laced his fingers within her
own. This was perfect. They may have gotten off to a rocky
start, but Raijuta truly believed that his future with Soraya
would finally be secure.
