"How long you gonna be Volt?" A slightly annoyed women spoke out
leaning against a dead tree in the middle of the winter. With
eyes shut and arms crossed letting her bangs hang down. A
slightly annoyed sigh cut through the cold air as a man was
kneeling before a simple grave stone. The grave stone said one
name and that was all. 'Jasmine.' The man stood to his feet.
"She was apart of this. She was apart of us. You should show her
some sorrow and joy my friend. Where ever she is we promised to
find her isn't that so?" The female opened her eyes rolling
before pushing herself of the tree. "Shut up. I never forgot
her. Not once. I'm keeping my promise. Showing such emotions as
sorrow and joy are not needed in a world like this." After the
words spilt out of her mouth she walked off. The male, being
called Volt moved his hand gracefully to his Katana. Gripping
the handle he turned and released it from it's shell. Two years
had past and Volt along with the same female were fighting side
by side in a war against Man and all kinds of hellish beast.
Together they push through the wave of enemies. Volt fell to
roughly to the ground looking up into the sky. A hand quickly
reached out and three days had past and the battle they were in
had past. The army they were with happened to win this battle,
but lost hundreds upon thousands of brave men and women. Volts
reached up grabbing her hand. Both Volt and the female covered
in blood, dirt, and rain water. "It's over finally." Both
turning around to veiw the pain and suffering, the blood and
death.
As they turn a year past and they were looking out at another
battle. This time they did not fight. They're weapons away and
not a cut on them. In that years time they come to know what
they were fighting for was not going help anything. It was only
going to bring death and sorrow upon those of innocent lives.
The female huffed out before turning away. "War! Why couldn't I
of seen sooner how very stupid it was to protect
something...some one with such secrets!" She spat out in angry
strolling off on her way. Volt nodded in agreement and turned
himself away from the view of battle. As he turned away he
reached out another year passing as he gripped the door handles
of a church stepping inside. Walking into the church he spotted
her. "So you really are here. This is it? This is where we sent
out own path and go ahead taking our own roads. Your numbered as
well..." In the flash of an eye she pulled a shot gun from her
long leather jacket. "Shut up! Why to you speak in such a
strange way. Talk normally you moron for the love of god." A
smirk pulling at her lips as she released a loud amount of
laughter. "God!?!?! What the fuck am I saying. Yes Volt this is
it. I'm breaking that promise. She's gone. She's in the Over
World now. I hate as much as you do trust me but that's the hard
fact of life. I hate talking. Later." She storms out putting her
weapon away pushing herself past Volt.
With a soft sigh of disappointment and sorrow Volt turned away
and started kneeling. Two months had past and he was kneeling
before the grave stone. "As the months grow on, as the years
come and go I have yet to come any closer to finding you
Jasmine. I have not given up and I don't think she has either.
We'll find you one day don't worry. This war still wages on
making our paths harder to push through but believe me my dear
friend we'll free you from the Over World." He stood and turned
right away with a day or so passing as he walked through the
poor city streets. The rich and the ones who were fighting in
these wars were the ones that got to live in a healthy
evironment. They got to live they're lives in the perfect
buildings. They didn't have to worry about food or sickness. The
slums here though didn't have the same luck. They dropped like
flys here and there. Soon most of the will be gone and the ones
who own the city will destroy whats left of the slums. Volts
sighed softly disappointed in what as become of this once
peaceful world. He looked up seeing the government buildings
towering over the whole city. "I used to fight for the king, now
I am a rogue of the world fighting for whats truely right."
Talking to himself out loud as his eyes never left the buildings
towering over the city.

That damned blossoming insanity, that damned pressure
enveloping her cranium, she hated it all. It was crushing her on
the inside and showing on the outside. Her eyes dropped, her
head fell into her hand. The same question formed into her mind,
many voices saying it over and over again, taking over her mind;
producing a boiling hatred for it. 'What is she? Who is she? Is
she one specific thing? Or many things? What is that thing?!'
Those questions infiltrated her mind like a swarming army
entering a battlefield. How she despised them. Her slender frame
folded over, a simple kitchen knife at her side. Blood. So much
blood. She hated it, though, there were a lot of things she
hated. That thick smell of death just clouded her nostrils,
taking over her senses. All she could hear were the questions on
top of the underlying screams of her only victim, all she could
smell was blood and death, all she could see was that gruesome
fight where her hands were just curled around the hilt of that
knife; diving in and out of that man's body.
Tightening her grip upon her blond hair, she growled in dismay.
She had no identity, she was everything in a way. No originality
to separate her in humanity. No scientist, doctor, or even her
parents; could identify her as one thing. Why had she been born
like this? Suddenly shifting and changing into different animals
at random, rapidly, scaring everyone around her. She was tagged
and labeled as a monster, a freak, an insane bitch with no soul.
There were many things she was called. But her name.. Her name
was Connie. Just... Connie. A deep growl ran from her lips,
chasing the air outside them, her eyes narrowing at the knife at
her side. Her first kill, her only kill, the only one she would
ever do. She had killed him because he just keep striking her
down, kept hitting her, kept calling her things. She hated
herself, hated people, hated everything. Wearing nothing but her
red cami and underwear, her slender frame shook beneath the
cold's icy touch. Blood stained her lightly sun-kissed skin,
though that wasn't the only blemish upon it. From head to toe,
the woman was coated in scars, fresh bruises and wounds, she
really had no home. No life.
With her blood.. Came sudden flowers, rare and unorthodox
flowers. Her tears brought life, her blood brought beauty, her
smile brought joy and charm; but no one had ever seen that last
one. Connie just leaned back against the structure, her head
lulling to the side as she closed her tear stricken eyes. No One
could define her, no one could identify her, she was nothing in
all reality. No one could even tell what her eye color was. How
saddening, but she hated pity, she never wanted it. Slowly, she
fell over a bit, curling up upon the flower bed that had bloomed
beneath her. She wouldn't admit it, she was terrified of the
other person's blood. She was terrified of what she had done.
Connie was just plain scared to death. Being a Contortionist had
it's perks, but it only added to her 'freak' level.

Volt continued to stare up at the buildings towering over the
city. He used to be one of them. A mindless soilder fighting
from something far greater then is mind could ever hope to
understand. Fighting for something that had driven this peaceful
planet into something filled with horrible events. His eyes
darted away from the buildings as the wandered around the city
streets of the slums. Looking upon those who needed hope, needed
something good to happen. His attention was cut short by what
could only be made out to be whispering. A whispering coming
from his katana. Only he could make and understand what she was
saying. Looking down to his weapon he spoke softly to her. "Yes
Jasmine what is it?" Yes he named his weapon Jasmine, though it
wasn't Jasmine he was looking for within the blade. She
whispered on and on. The heavens began to cry ever so gently as
the air coldly bit everything around it. Volt shivered pulling
his strong silk jacket around him tightly his attention still on
his blade. "A person of interest. I only know two people of
interest. Why is this third so different Jasmine?" People
without homes watched as they saw a strange mad speaking to his
blade. They thought he was crazy and lost in his own little
world. He knew they would never understand and they had enough
to worry about them selfs for him to waste they're time telling
them his story and this blades story. "Fine fine, lead the way."
The blade fell silent as Volt started to walk off. Volts eyes
turned into dull grey color as his blade led him along on his
path. His feet took him where he needed to go while in his mind
she had been showing him the images of this person of interest.
What he saw would scare people away or they'd try to do what
they thought was right for the murdered man. Most wouldn't care
for her story only his. He was the one laying dead, he was the
one who lost his life and she was the one who forced it away.
Volt himself could not judge without seeing both sides of the
story. Finally the blade got Volt to where she wanted him to be.
His eyes feel back to the shining sky blue color as his eyes
fell slowly upon the female laying there. "Jasmine I need to put
you down." He said softly removing his blade from his side and
placing it some where safe. He slowly removed his jacket from
his body walking slowly to the female. "I'm Volt Harbinger. I've
not come to harm you. I have no reason of coming to be here." So
gently and slowly he let his jacket cover her body as he walked
around tilting his head to the side viewing the events which
have taken place. He had no words, it wasn't his place to ask.
Like he said he thought he didn't have a reason for being here,
it was his weapon that brought him here. Her reason wouldn't
remain unknown for now.
Whispering started to cut through the silence. Volt looked over
to his blade trying not to make any sudden moves. Slowly he
started to kneel down then back to take a seat on the ground.
"I'm always careful don't worry." Reaching behind him and into
his back pocket he pulled out a small book and flipped it open.
It was on of the many stories writen by Shakespeare. As he
started to read he also started to speak to her. "I'm not to
worried about what went on here. Those flower's seem to have a
gracefully beauty within them. Do you have a name? Like I said
before I'm Volt Harbinger, a good friend of mine gave me this
name. What name belongs to you?"

Crimson soaked blond locks became an even worse
scrambled mess as she heard footsteps. Did they find her
already!? She had lost it all, gained nothing, and had nothing
to her life; couldn't they leave her to her peace?! Murderer.
You killed him. It's all your fault. You were the cause of
everything. Those words filtered into her mind and she flinched
back, her body pushing upwards slightly as she rested on her
hands and stared up in horror at the male who came closer. The
blade, oh goddess, why?! Her breath hitched, her body convulsed
beneath the jacket. It was a trick, it had to be! Those orbs,
they could not be identified as a color. There was no way to
describe it. Yet as her body shook and convulsed, her form
vanished beneath the jacket into a little lump beneath it.
Chirps heard as she shook in fear, the bone snapping sounds
still reverberating in the air as she had just changed forms out
of fear. Though as he spoke, she could not understand.
Why was he talking to her so calmly? Why had he disarmed
himself? Was it to get her off her guard? She couldn't even hold
a weapon right now. Hiding beneath the jacket he had placed over
her. Yet soon enough, she lurched forward. Revealing herself to
be nothing more than a blood stained blond rabbit. Her chirps
were cries of sorrow and guilt, pain and heart felt agony. Tears
even welled in the newly shaped eyes as her ears folded back. It
was at that moment that she returned to her form, the blood
curdling sounds of the change striking the air as she was
sitting up with her legs curled beside her. Retrieving her
clothing, she quietly slipped it on. Flinching and wincing with
every move she made. No voice, nothing sounded. Then, her head
snapped to the right and she didn't hesitate any further. He had
gotten himself involved into trouble. That was for sure.
Swiftly she folded the jacket over her arm. As more of her own
blood spilled to the ground, more flowers majestically sprang to
life. Though it was what happened next that would sprout
questions of her form. Quickly and carefully, almost like a
skittish animal, she placed the jacket in front of him before
scrambling on her knees and hands back towards the tree. The
sounds of footsteps and hooves traveling the ground made it
obvious to her that there was another party coming to the scene.
Yelping softly with her movements, it was obvious now how many
wounds she held as there were plenty of gashes across her flesh
and more bruises than one could count. Though that didn't stop
her. She couldn't involve him, he didn't do anything. It wasn't
his fault! Snatching up the kitchen knife, she stuck it into the
ground and drove it deep into it's new sheath as her blood
trickled around it and onto it, causing a new hiding place for
the weapon to spring up.
Without words ever falling, she looked to him with a single look
of apology before she cupped her hands together and forced
herself to pool blood into them. Quickly she slung the blood
towards the woods. Doing this a few times to make it look like
she ran the opposite way to where she would most likely be going
later on. Her form recoiled slightly as she shifted once more,
into that of a bob cat. Grabbing her clothing in her maw, she
looked towards the path the people were storming on before she
hurridly skittered up the tree. Hiding in the canopy of it, she
peered down as she watched the mob of angry civilians storm
towards the tree. Undefined eyes closed tightly as she kept her
large maw shut and kept her hearing alert. "Where the fuck did
she go!? That little... I see the flowers! Lets get her! Death
to the freak!" Many words found their way to her ears and it
caused more tears to fall. In any form, she could still weep her
sorrowful tears.
Weapons, flames, horses, and men on a hunt. It was a practical
and comical mob that seemed to resemble that of the mobs you see
in movies. She hated them all. But she would never harm any of
them. Though they had treated her horribly, they had not
repeatedly beaten her as he had. When they trailed past the
male, she hoped they wouldn't stop to ask questions. Though
their small minded eagerness to kill her prevented that,
thankfully, as they simply stormed past them to follow the path
she had created. Once she couldn't hear the trampling anymore,
she crawled her way down from the tree, sitting behind it for a
moment as she shifted back and got dressed. He had said his name
was Volt. That was an interesting name to carry. One she had
never heard before anyways. Taking in a deep breath, her form
peeked around the tree at him as a frown curved her lips. It was
apparent she was still terrified of him. Yet, she'd hold the
benefit of the doubt for him.
He didn't look like anyone she had met, thus, he didn't know her
at all nor did he seem to want to kill her as the others wanted.
Slowly, she moved past the tree and laid back down in her bed of
unorthodox flowers. Her form ached and hurt badly, but she
seemed as though she was use to such treatment. After resting
for a minute or two, she lurched forward, her eyes piercing
through him as she perched herself a few inches from him and
sniffed at him. There was no familiar scent to him, so there was
no way any one of them had spoken to him. She'd smell their
scent on him. The recent rampage that went past wouldn't stick
to him, considering the wind and everything. Keeping that
intense stare, she scurried back to the bed of flowers and let
out a long held breath. "S-sorry.. I.. Didn't want you getting
involved... And.. I had to make sure.. You weren't already
involved with the likes of them.." That voice, so sweet and
harmless, tender and angelic; like crush velvet of the finest
quality.
Looking down at herself, she just stared at the wounds with a
small frown, but said nothing further for the time being. Her
arms finding themselves to the ground as she laid back down in
her bed of flowers. Lids fell half closed as thick lashes hid
half of her orbs. That gaze still trapped on him as she watched
him carefully. "Connie... That's all.. Just Connie.." She
paused, enamel tearing into her lower lip as she hesitated.
"They wanted a reason to kill me or get rid of me.. Now they
have one.. Because.. I.. Killed him for continuously beating
me.. I was about to die.. And.. Instincts kicked in.. I..
Couldn't shift because of the condition I was in.. And... I
stabbed him.. So he wouldn't hit me anymore.. So.. It's.. Better
if you don't stay around me, Mister Harbinger.. I don't want..
You to get involved in something that shouldn't be of any issue
for you.. But.. For the trouble I've already caused you.."
Another pause, dainty phalanges plucking a tulip like flower
that was small in size but didn't seem to have any petals. Just
one simple wrapping petal that formed a vase like shape.
Pressing the silken blue flower to her cheek, tears dropped into
the structure and did not leak out. Then, the flower closed
tightly to prevent any loss of the liquid that would bring life.
Placing it on the ground in front of him with a simple lean, she
then returned to laying down. "Encase.. You need healing or.. If
you are ever on the verge of your life's end.. Or if you want to
save someone else.. A few drops will do greatly.." She didn't
smile, not once as she laid there, trying not to move too much.
Her worry of death very high in herself as she could not use her
own tears to her own use. It was strange, but that was how it
worked for her.

Volt continued to read his book flipping from page to page
within seconds. This was a book he had read through a number of
times and knew it word for word. His eyes leaving the book for a
quick second to watching the female. It would seem as if she
just disappeared within thin air. He watched his jacket hearing
the sounds flinching at them a little. What had just happened to
her he asked himself in his head. Did he scare her away.
Whispering started up again, the soft voice of a female rang
through air making Volt sigh. "Jasmine I did nothing, maybe she
dislikes being seen by stranger. Can't say I can't blame..." He
was cut off by seeing a rabbit come from under the jacket. He
chuckled to himself as his eyes fell down upon his page again.
"That trick of yours interestingly cute if I may say." His words
were calm and kind as he continued to read through the pages of
his book. Reading through the book he could slightly see some
change going on. Looking up from the pages seeing her back to
her normal form, or was it? "Ahhh your back, you missed the
smallest little animal." He teased in a way watching her place
his jacket back infront of him.
He was started to hear the same things she was. Little did he
know that the group of people coming were for her not for him.
He himself was a wanted man. Crimes for running and leaving his
army in the middle of war. Murder and breaking himself out from
behind bars and of course running from those three crimes. He
sighed as his blade started to speak to him some more. "Yes
Jasmine, I know we very might have a fight on our hands. I'd
rather not but..." He sighed and went back to reading still back
some attention to the female. She had went into hidng. There he
knew the people were after her but still as the drew closer he
looked down to the side and closed his eyes. Holding his book up
in a way that would cover his face. Saying nothing and letting
them go on they're way he sighed. Once they were out of sight
and could not be heard he lowered the book from his face.
He closed his book his eyes watching her as she come out from
hiding. She had changed herself again into a bob cat to get into
the tree and hide. Then like before she was back looking as she
once was when he ran into her. Acting like he saw nothing what
so ever he smiled over at her. "You missed another animal, a bob
cat. My my you sure do have terrible luck when it comes to
animals." He playfully teased her some more. Volt was keeping
still like he had been ever since he got here. Making no sudden
moves when she came forward to sniff him. None of this really
seemed strange to him. He actted as if all this was normal and
well killing was normal to him. He was a man of war once, and in
war killing is something you happen to see normally. She finally
spoke to him and her first word made him chuckle lightly.
"Please you don't have to say sorry. I already dug myself a deep
enough hole. Nothing that happened here made it any deeper so
you need not worry."
His voice was gently and kind to her. In no way did he want to
bring her any harm, no pain, no suffering. To him she was
nothing but an innocent female. He tilted his head back and
looked up into the sky with a smile. The night sky was so
perfect, and peaceful. What a wonderful way to relax he thought.
Even the light bit of rain seemed to die down and stop. It was
hearing her words again did he look back over upon her. "Connie,
first time I've met a Connie. Well then it's very nice to meet
you." As she started to explain herself to him he shook his head
and tried to stop her. He couldn't so he just let her finish.
When she was done he started to talk to her the kindness in his
voice never leaving. "Listen you didn't have to explain yourself
to me, even if he's truely is the one at fault here. In no way
do I plan to harm you, or turn you into to those naive people. I
will send you no pain nor any suffering." He nodded to her
slowly with a small smile pulling at his lips.
Volt watched closely at what she was about to do. This day was
filled with interesting events. Reaching out and picking the
flower up between his two fingers he smiled a bit more looking
at it. Twirling it in between his fingers slowly he nodded to
her once more. "Why thank you, this is very kind of you." Lower
his arm the flower now being held gently in his hand he looked
upon her without saying anything for the longest time. Tilting
his head to the side slightly he sighed a bit. "May I do
anything to help you at all. I'd rather you not say no but the
choice is yours. I'd love to fix your wounds and give you a
shelter. A warm bed to sleep in, some warm food. Even if it's
just for one night. If you give it a shot and it turns out you
don't like me you may go on your way and you'll never see me
again. If it turns out that you can stand my company you can
stay and travel with me. The choice is yours."

A moment of peace, something she had been longing for.
Something that she had not had since birth. It was pleasant, it
really was. Her eyes soon closed as she took in the sweet scents
of the flowers beneath her, fingers twined in them as well as
the emerald grass. When he spoke, she listened. So he wasn't
freaked out by her sudden shifts? Apparently not. Keeping to
herself, she preferred the silence of her voice. Only because
before now, no one had actually ever really spoken to her. When
children tried, she would be fearful and their parents would
instantly punish them for speaking to the "Freak". As he spoke,
she listened carefully. For some reason, it was comforting to
hear him talk in such a calm manner to her. She didn't want to
break her silence in both comfort and fear that he would become
enraged. Yet as those last words filtered through her hearing,
she lightly opened her eyes and gazed at him once more.
Serenity, it didn't last long, did it? She wasn't sure what to
say or think at this moment. Plush flesh parted to speak, though
she flinched back in question of doing so. Was it truly safe?
Was it okay? She'd give him the benefit of the doubt once more.
He hadn't given her a reason not to trust him, so she figured if
anything were to happen, she'd just shift and run away. "I wont
decline.. But, I can't really move.. I don't want to burden you
either.." She muttered carefully, perching herself up onto her
arms as she looked at him. Never once, had she smiled. No one
knew what her smile could really do. Not even herself. "Though I
can't do much to help lift that burden.. I can shift into a
smaller creature to prevent struggling.." She couldn't
comprehend why he was helping her, or why he even cared for that
matter. Yet she wouldn't question it for now. Considering he was
really her only hope of surviving.
"I'm comfortable on the floor or in a dresser drawer.. In all
honesty.. Helping me with my wounds is enough.. I couldn't ask
more of you." Quiet once more, she shifted into that of a
smaller rodent. A sugar glider to be precise. Though even as an
animal, she was still covered in her countless wounds and
beneath fur rested the others that could not be seen with blood.
Unmoving, she didn't want to get close and him get angry with
her or something for doing so, so she simply stayed right there.
Those undefined eyes looking up at him. "Thank you.." She said
quietly, with a light squeak to the voice her animal shift
carried.

Volt eyes never left her as he looked over her wounded body. She
had to be in much pain, he wanted to take that pain away. Clean
and close up those wounds and let her recover. He hoped that'd
she'd let him help her. It was her choice so if she'd agree not
to let him fix her up he'd have to let her go and that's not
something he wanted to do. Walking away would have been a hard
thing to do even if these two had just met. Hearing her say she
wouldn't decline his offer he nodded to her. Good she'd let him
help her, at least she'd have shelter and a nice warm place to
rest tonight. As she went on he listened to her words. A light
chuckle came from his lips as he shook his head a little. "Don't
worry, you won't be a burden to me. It might be nice to have
some company again." His blade started to whisper out a little
louder then before making him sigh and chuckle a bit more. "I
enjoy your company as well, don't worry Jasmine." After saying
that the whispers coming from his weapon stopped momments before
Connie started to speak again.
He shook his head and stood up stretching himself out. "Don't
worry I don't mind carrying you, and you'll be resting in the
bed I have. My body only needs 16 hours of rest a week, and
while your wounds heal I'd like you to stay in your other form
as much as possible." Leaning over to to pick up his jacket
putting it back on, then kneeling down in front of her he smiled
now seeing her as a suger glider. Looking into her eyes, they
were very strange, interesting. He wanted to ask some questions
about them but this was not the time. "I'm going to pick you up
now okay?" He smiled softly reaching out picking her up so
gently in his hands. As a suger glider she was big enough to be
held in just on hand and thats what he did. Keeping her in his
right hand he was careful being she not to hold onto her to
tight.
Before he left he grabbed his sword holding it in his left hand
letting it rest over his shoulder. Getting a closer look at it
would surprise some people. Could he really call hiself a
fighter with the way he kept his sword. It was all beat up and
looked like it had been through hell and back more then once.
It's like he didn't even bother taking any care of it. It made
people wonder at times what his blade looked like. Did it look
as bad as the outside. Having her and his weapon he started
walking off into the early night wanting to get to his little
place of peace quickly. "You must be feeling some sort of joy,
little or big. To get away from all those people I mean, I know
I would, then again I don't know your story. We have a long walk
ahead of us, why don't you tell me some small details about
yourself and I can do the same for myself. That is if you'd want
to, if you'd rather have silence I can do that as well." He said
chuckling a little as he watched the night sky while walking.

Those undefined orbs just watched him carefully as he
came closer. Nearly showing the fear of being hurt once more
vibrantly. Though as she was picked up carefully, a little
squeak of relief left the small muzzle. Her ears folded back a
bit as she listened to him speak, it wasn't long before she was
laying quietly in his hand to listen more attentively. Her tail
curled around her frame and she didn't look up at him at the end
of his words. "I feel no joy or happiness. Relief, yes, but I've
never been happy. I don't even know what it feels like. I am
relieved to be away from them, but I have never hated anyone
aside from him. His name was Shinu. At first, he was like you.
It seemed like he wanted to help me when some guy was throwing
stones at me. I've never defended myself, I felt as though I'd
hurt someone and I don't want to do that. Yet.. He had only
stopped the man so he could do it himself. Countless times he
lashed out at me.."
A sorrowful tone entered the animal's voice as she buried her
face into her paws. "I didn't do anything wrong.. I've never
done anything to hurt anyone.. My mother, my father, they
abandoned me because doctors and scientists, and many other
characters, couldn't figure out what I was.. I don't even know
what I am.. The ruled out all of the other creatures that lurked
in the night, and could never discover what I was. That's when
it started.. I was labeled as a freak, a monster, and many other
names.. No child was allowed to come near me and the adults just
abused me horribly. Whether it was verbally, mentally, or
physically; I was being abused constantly without a break. Even
when I tried to sleep, they'd sneak up on me and attack me..
Shinu only took me in.. So he could do worse than them. Even
those people, who were hunting me, wouldn't have ever gone as
far as Shinu did. They would've killed me and left it at that..
But.."
Connie's tiny paws curled into make-shift fists, her fur
bristling in anger as she growled out in that small voice. "He
wouldn't stop! There was no end to it! He'd just come close to
killing me then patch me up! I never.. Got a break.. Ever.. This
time was different than the years behind it.. He came too close
to killing me this time, and.. Animalistic instincts flared up
horribly.." Tears welled in those tightly closed eyes as she
whined lightly. "I didn't even mean to! I couldn't shift but I
had to protect myself.. So I.. Grabbed the kitchen knife and
stabbed him repeatedly till he stopped moving.. Then I ran for
the life of me and didn't stop until I could barely move.." Her
fur unbristled it's self and she just laid there in his palm.
Ears flattened as she didn't move any further. "I've never hurt
a single person in my life before now.. And on the days I could
escape while he was at work.. I'd shift into a puppy and
secretly play with the kids.. Despite all that they've done to
me.. I've never hurt them.. But Shinu was different.. He planned
to kill me so slowly that I'd never find peace.. Like he knew
something about what I was.. Like I'd stay attached to this
world without peace at all.."
Flinching a bit, she sat up, tiny paws rubbing at soaked fur as
she sniffed slightly to recover her composure. "This world is
cruel.. But.. If one person can carry on a kind heart.. And
cause a chain reaction to form.. For others to soon do what that
person does.. Then this world may be kinder in the future.." She
muttered out.

After speaking himself she began to speak and tell him her story
in a short time. As he walked though the darkness he listened to
her closely, At times he'd be looking down at her showing no
judgment in eyes what so ever. Other's he'd be looking up so see
where he was going to take a quick look at the sky, but he still
listened to her story. Her story was filled with torture and
sorrow. She'd be away from that all now. Well she'd be for as
long as she stuck around with him. He couldn't force her to stay
but while she was with him he'd make sure she'd wouldn't get
hurt again. Volt wasn't the only one listening in on her story.
She may not of known this but Volt's weapon was listening to her
word for word. Whispering nothing to Volt just paying attention
to her. Now that Connie was closer to the weapon it was strange.
Most likely if she wanted to she could feel as if there was a
living being from within the blade. Her last words made him
smile and look down at her. He agreed with her on that. "You
could say that I'm trying to do that. I was a fighter in the war
that wages on even now a few years ago. I came to learn that
this war had some great secrets behind it, secrets that wouldn't
help a damn thing. That's why me and one other left and went
ahead on our ways."
Volt sighed a bit looking off into the darkness of the night
thinking of the past. "There was about two years where me and
her traveled the world trying to find some one. We never found
that person and after searching for so long she said she gave up
and now she's on her own like I am." His eyes fell back down
upon her again. "I'm sorry Connie that your life has been filled
with all those horrible events. I can tell you right now for as
long as you choose to stick around I'll be sure you stay safe.
After your wounds heal if you wish to be on your own way I won't
stop." Volts voice still didn't change as he spoke to her. Still
so gentle and kind. "Connie I know what's it's like to be
different, I truely do. I am no normal human. Hell I don't think
I'm human anymore. I don't know what to call myself. I have
brought great pain to this world. I helped in killing the peace
here when I was in the war. I was younger then of course, being
19 or 20 I suppose. I thought I was doing right, but it was all
false. I aim to rewrite everything I have done and bring peace
back to this world once again." He chuckled a bit and blushed
slightly shaking his head. "Oh my do you hear me. I'm running my
mouth as if tomorrow will never come. I'm sorry." The blush
still remained on his face while strolling through the darkness
of the night.
After that it wasn't long before they came up to a small house.
This was the shelter he spoke of and it was right on the out
skirts of some town. He entered his home and went stright to the
room with the bed. He ever so gently placed her down in the bed
and smiled. "Alright then, let's get those wounds cleaned and
closed. Now I'm gonna need you to form back into a human and
remove any clothing. I will give you some cloth so you can cover
parts of your body your not comfortable with me seeing." He
finished quickly only to walk off for a few minutes to come back
with the stuff he needed to clean and close her wounds. A bottle
of some strange liquid and a rag to clean her wounds. A roll on
strong string and a needle to close the wounds. A few pieces of
cloth to cover any parts of her body she didn't want him to see.
He placed them in the bed next to her. Finally some cream to rub
on her bruises to help them heal up faster. Placing everything
on the night stand and pulling a chair up by the bed he smiled
and nodded to her. Turning around so he couldn't see her undress
he spoke softly. "Tell me when your ready Connie."

Connie listened to every word, despite her disposition
of sorrow that racked her every nerve. Her fur bristled up once
more but she didn't say a single thing. There was something that
she could tell, but she wouldn't acknowledge it for the time
being. Considering he might've gotten upset if she was aware of
the blade's own essence. It wasn't hard for her to sense such
things, she didn't know why, but because of the fact that she
often knows when people are hurt or when animals are hurt, she's
able to feel the strings connecting her to them. As though she
was a puppeteer and they were the marionettes. Ears twitched
slightly and she looked up at him with obscure eyes. "Judgment
isn't mine to pass, and tomorrow always comes. I'm sure that one
day, you'll find who it is you're looking for, and if you have
anything of that person's, then I might be able to help you. For
you helping me."
It was as though there was a smile waiting in her voice, but
nothing showed just yet. When she was placed down upon the bed,
she listened intently but simply nodded. "Thank you. I don't
have any issue with you seeing any part of me.. I guess I've
grown use to such things." With a light shrug in her smaller
shoulders, there was a gruesome sound of bones crushing and
refitting her previous form. Fur shrank into flesh and she was
sitting there nude. Splits and tears covered every inch of her.
A large one slashed over her eye, cheek, and eyebrow in a
straight line. Another was going up her right rib cage. There
was no end to the various gashes and cuts, scrapes and bruises.
She didn't seem to mind as long as she didn't move even a single
centimeter. Even her lip was split on the side of her mouth, so
that was why she didn't talk very often and when she did, she
spaced the words out further than they should be.
Situating herself properly, she sat with her legs dangling off
the bed and her knees pressed together. Her hands resting on her
knees as she allowed red stained locks to shadow a part of her
face. "Okay.." She muttered, looking down for a minute. "It's
pretty bad.. I know you couldn't see all of it under my fur and
my clothing.. So I hope it doesn't upset you." She said quietly,
as though she wasn't even concerned with the fact that she was
paled and still losing blood. With the various injuries, one
would think she'd be dead already, yet since she wasn't human;
her anatomy was quite different than humans. Yet that was
obvious due to her changing her form often. Taking in a deep
breath, she exhaled it slowly and looked around for a moment.
"Things aren't always as they seem.. Even as I've been tortured,
maimed, and completely screwed in the world; I still think it's
beautiful.. Most would assume by my current condition that I
would hate everything.. So.. Making changes to the world, is
simple, just having an outlook to right the wrongs and make it
better is change already."
Turning pools of undefined colors towards him, something
happened. Something both extravagant and amazing. The corners of
her lips twitched into a small smile that curved plush flesh. In
this moment, a wash of warmth seemed to caress everything as a
light aura of green hues graced beaten flesh. A smile so small
brought a harmonious feel of joy to everything around her.
Though as it ended, the only thing to remain was the wave of
warmth that had washed over the room. There was no telling what
a true and brilliant smile of her's could do. Maybe even change
everything around them. She herself didn't even know what she
had done.
