In this civilization, reality and perception were vastly
different than the usual dimensions and earthly qualities. Even
the animals were vastly different than animals native to Earth.
Quirking a brow, her entire disposition nearly failed as she saw
him shrinking to the ground. What was he doing? Was he trying to
get level with her? It wasn't until he blurted out his question
did she understand. Her ears having perked up and seemed to look
rather silly while she blinked a few times and stared at him.
Curiosity began to settle into her mind while she tilted her
head and reached out with her already outstretched hand, resting
it on his head. Her face looming closer to his as she got a
closer look on all of his features, his eyes especially, as if
reading everything that rested behind the mirrors to the soul.
Straightening up quickly, she bounced on her heels and walked
around him in a circle, humming something to herself while she
examined him. Finally coming to a stop in front of him again,
she gave that bright smile once more upon primrose flesh, that
sweet expression covering her features.
"Your face looks familiar, but I can't place it. That seems to
happen a lot lately. Vaguely familiar things that are there, but
not remembered completely." She said, cheerfully rocking back
and forth on her heels once more, peering at him with those
vivid pools that seemed to pierce into whom she was looking at.
"Since you obviously didn't hear me before, maybe my name will
ring a bell for you. My name is Amaya. Does that seem familiar
to you?" Though he was certainly someone she knew in her past
life, there was no way of her placing that in this life. When
reincarnated, she was not the mixed species she had been prior
to this life, she was full blooded Crystalian in this life.
Which was carefully done because she still held her resemblance
to her previous self, aside from the red hair and early pink
bunny look. Perking up, she placed her hands on her hips and
pouted a bit. "I'm sorry, but I was on my way into town.. Would
you like to come with me to discuss this further? I'd really
like to know why you're so familiar to me as well. If not,
that's okay. I'm sure I'll see you around." Though she said it
was fine, she was still hopeful that he'd join her. Curiosity
was something that always ate at her like a starved beast on a
buffet.

As the young woman pranced about him; her obvious innocence
shining from her more vividly than the perfume of sweet
strawberries, the man formerly Adonis, Formerly Kaos, formerly a
lot of things, simply watched with curiosity building. He looked
not just through mortal forms as she sprang back into his direct
view; adjusting his vision to see beyond the physical for but a
moment, and as he witnessed what it was he had sensed before, he
immediately realized why he had felt like he knew her. He had...
Long ago he had known this creature; this woman, and yet he
hadnt known her like this. She not only appeared different on
the surface, but beneath it as well. Her essence had been
changed, renewed, purified even; while her flesh and form had
been granted a new vigor and enchantment of sorts. She was who
he had thought she was, and yet she was entirely different.
Digging deeper; before she would address him again, the man
Adonis spun through his ancient memories and filtered through
countless channels of thought. He poured himself into his vast
consciousness and brought forth a single and simple
understanding of the woman. She was the Amaya he had once
conversed with, but she was reborn into a shell entirely void of
such memories and thoughts as the original had. She was; as he
had been so many times before, a clean sheet of white, with the
dark ink waiting beneath the surface.
Therein laid the problem for the man, as the young woman stopped
and began to speak. He knew her once and she him, but this was
not then, and she was not as she was. For that very simple
reason; understanding the gravity of his knowledge's possible
weight upon her being, the man simply ignored what had
previously been, and allowed life to continue from that moment
forward instead. He gave up on what had been, and instead
brought from his vast collection of ideas a simplistic view on
the matter.
He would introduce himself, and get to know this woman once
more. He would not weigh down her consciousness with the truth
of who and what she was; nor would he trivialize what had been
overcome by her true essence, and explain to her that she was
living an ornate lie... He would act as though he were simply
mistaken in his knowledge of her, and see what road this action
would take him down.
"Im sorry Ma'm, but that name does not ring a bell" Came the
voice of the once great seraph. "But perhaps it will ring a bell
in my future" His eyes were alight with the possibilities ahead
of him, as he rose and looked beyond the woman. To the road
nearby, the town not too far away, and to the world beyond his
own original home.
"If you would allow it, I would very much enjoy speaking with
you further, and a walk seems like as good a place to start as
any"

There was no denying that she was rather enthralled by
the fact that he said he'd join her, but there was also this
feeling of dread scratching beneath her cheerful disposition.
Why? Because she knew he was lying. There was that twinge in a
person's voice when they lied, something she had always picked
up on. Whether it be because of her exceptional hearing, or her
phenomenal way of observation, it just happened. Folding her
arms behind her back, she twined her fingers and inclined her
head to him, smiling ever still. "Maybe it will. There's no
telling, honestly." There was nothing wrong with who she was
now, just a lack of her former personality. Only parts were
missing, yet that was only because she had not been put through
her previous hardships as she was before. Instead of fending
from the start, she had been raised in a loving home with a
wonderful mother. Instead of having to deal with her rather
sudden changes, she was a pure blod, she only had minor
difficulties now. If or when she remembered her past life, that
would be when she would understand how easy she had it this time
around. Maybe it was a show of thanks from the fates for all her
hard work. Who knows.
With a positive skip in her step and a bounce at her heels, she
twirled on the balls of her feet and looked to him with that
grin of absolute joy. "You know my name, but I don't know
your's. Now how is that fair?" She chuckled, turning again as
she started walking. "C'mon, I'll show you around. Crystalia's
pretty big, and this is only a minor rural town, but it's still
pretty nice. I don't know where you're from, but it's got a
homely feel to it." Taking a moment to recollect her thoughts,
she seemed almost.. Child-like. Though that was how she was in
her past life too. Child-like, innocent when it came to dealing
with people, and always looking on the bright side of things.
Raising her hand to her ear, she gently stroked it while she
thought to herself, an old habit she had formed long ago. Her
tail whipped around eagerly like a cat's as the feline played
with a ball of yarn. She seemed deep in thought, her expression
showing her concentration as she expertly walked around crystals
in the path before tripping over them. "I wonder what colors
they'll be this year. The flowers change colors because of the
crystals on the petals.. So it's always such a curious
subject.." She was talking to herself, but she didn't seem to
really mind being slightly strange. "Do you like flowers?" She
asked suddenly, glancing to him out of the corners of her eyes.

"My name" The statuesque man pondered the simple idea for what
seemed like an eternity: Falling into step behind the lithe and
energetic young woman. "My name" He couldnt quite place a finger
upon a suitable word or phrase; a dialect or language to use,
but before too long he fell on old habits and opened his mouth
with an answer.
"My name is Adonis M'am, Adonis Valkyrie, formerly Gabriel
Cerula Frost" His hesitation at revealing his own existence was
overcome by his need to remain civil, and when his own name was
voiced by him, he couldnt help but revel in the understanding
beyond such a trivial set of terms. He truly was Adonis
Valkyrie; once a great seraph of heavenly light and grandeur,
and he truly had been a vengeful and noble force in the cosmos.
"My name is of no matter though Ma'm, as most would never call
me by such terms... perhaps another would be best for you to
remember.. Simpler or less aristocratic?"
Adonis seemed particularly interested in the petite female as he
walked; keeping a steady step behind her, and watching her with
unending patience. "The name or title you choose is up to you
though, as I have no interest in calling myself anything other
than I..."
With a slight smile; painting his face in a tranquil happiness,
Adonis continued onward behind the woman as she made her way
towards the rural town. Occasionally lending the walk ahead his
attention, and the town beyond a casual glance. He moved not how
a barbarian would; nor how a giant should, and as each foot fell
to the earth and rose again to propel him forward, not a single
print or track was left behind. No sound came from his
movements; whether grand or simple, and not even the faintest of
odors lingered on his muscular form. He was the epitome of
silent and graceful, but in harsh contrast to his nimble steps
and silent moves, his size invented a false brutality and evil
that no number of perfectly articulated words or phrases could
shake.

Circles upon circles of information were swirling in her
mind, keeping her rather occupied with herself. It wasn't until
there was a slight ticking noise in her ears that she was pulled
from the depths of concentration. A frown curved her lips, what
had set off this infernal ticking this time? Her ears were
twitching madly, her tail was bristling, she surely looked like
she was ready to lash out at someone with how somber her
expression was. It was the bane of her days and nights, seeing
certain things, doing certain things; something always set off
this ticking! It pestered her, annoyed her, chided her to
remember something that wasn't even there! A light growl slipped
her chest, her fists balled tightly till that white pearlesque
colored liquid began to pool around slender digits as a reaction
to her claws diving into her flesh. Knuckles turned while while
she stopped in her tracks, hardly listening to him at all.
"Damnit!" She snarled, her tail finally fluffing out to it's
full annoyed capacity while she cut her eyes at him. "Why did
you invoke this bloody ticking!?" She snapped, her eyes flaring
with the vivid colors before she quickly turned her head and
took a deep breath.
Grumbling, she knew she had no right to snap at him at all. He
hadn't known, hell he probably didn't know what he just caused
or how for that matter. "Sorry.." She muttered beneath her
breath, reaching up and twisting her bloodied fingertips around
her ear. "Your name, I don't know why, but it made that damnable
ticking come back.. Like someone's holding a timer by my ear and
it's counting down to something. Trying to make me remember
things that I don't know nor have any memory of, but it's still
there, pulling at the threads." She seemed highly irritated, her
teeth grinding as she started to pace again. It was always like
this, she would stop then go and stop again, only to go again.
Her shoulders slumped as she continued to take comfort in
petting her ear. "Adonis Valkyrie.. So you don't wish to be
called that, but you do wish to be called something? I mean, I
could just call you person, since you have no interest in your
own name? It's just a title after all, just something to
identify you by.. Something to catch your attention when someone
wants to.. Hmm.." She pondered on the idea, slowly pulling
herself from her agitation while she did so. "Simpler.. Less
Aristocratic.. I'm half tempted to call you.. No that would
never do.."
Flickering her orbs over to him again, she continued to chide
herself for snapping a few moments ago before she tipped her
head to the left and looked up at nothing. "Hm.. Why don't I
just call you.." There was a name etching into her mind, so she
slowly formulated the sentence. "I have this itching feeling to
call you Ni or Doni.. Don't know why.. But I guess that'll work
if it's okay with you?" She said, gradually getting back to her
previous demeanor of being rather cheerful and happy while she
caressed her ear. "So.. Why did you come to this place?"

Grappling with feelings of confusion and remorse for the woman's
situation: Knowing that daunting memories awaited her for
certain, and knowing full well the consequences of her coming
revelation, Adonis couldnt help but feel overwhelmed when the
youth turned to him and suddenly became enraged. Her form flared
as if a cat set on edge by a nearby dog; hair frizzing, tail
thickening, ears twitching, and when the crimson elixir of her
life began to paint her palm with its freedom, even the angelic
being felt a twinge of regret for having arrived and caused even
the slightest discomfort. He did not strike out at the woman for
her words of anger and confusion; nor would he ever dream of
lashing out with verbal accusations of his own for the lust of
conflict, but as her heartstrings were plucked to and fro at a
price of her own mental state, He couldnt simply remain silent.
Silently moving forward with a graceful speed and an unnatural
fluidity; eyes never leaving the stricken female's face, he
stepped into her path and placed one steady hand upon her
slender shoulder. His eyes seemed ablaze with the energy of the
cosmos; swirling vortexes of radiant blue and green splashing
about in twin seas of order and purity, and as he made silent
eye contact with the mentally exhausted woman he began to speak.
Slowly and quietly at first, his words flowed forth like an
unheard river of power; washing over her in a soothing breeze,
and without needing her to understand the dialect of the
ancients, he knew that her spirit would relinquish its rage for
the tranquility he spoke of. The words lingered in the air;
twists of raw emotion dancing with vivid pulses of ordered chaos
and peaceful destructive force, as he knelt once more and his
lips formed a simple smile.
He could feel the tension in the air subside as his words washed
away the caustic confusion; his own body a picture of serenity
and relaxation, and before he removed his large hand from the
small woman's form, he added a few select words in a language
she too could hear and speak. A few direct lines of text from
his former glory days, that would hopefully bring about the same
sense of purpose that they had so long ago lent him.
"Young one... Do not fear what you do not know, do not
misinterpret what you do not know for what is not meant to be
known, and do not worry on what you are not meant to know... You
are as you are, do as you do, and you will prevail as only you
can in this or the next life. If a memory you fear, or a memory
you seek is not found by you, then perhaps you are not ready for
it.. Do not seek it out, and do not worry when it trys to seek
you out... For when it is time, and when you are truly ready to
accept what is beyond you... It will simply happen, and all will
again be right... As it is now"
With silent speed; body upright and standing without so much as
a grain of earth being disturbed, Adonis patiently waited for
his words to sink in and take hold in the womans heart. He knew
she would not simply ignore them as others of the mortal worlds
would, and the fact that he was willing to speak so candidly to
her obviously proved beyond a doubt that Adonis himself was
comfortable relinquishing his own knowledge for the sake of
helping her. Perhaps he truly had grown soft beyond the reaches
of space and time, or perhaps he had found the peace he had
sought through so many long ended wars of the past. But either
way, Adonis had spoken from his own heart, and placed his voice
of reason and order upon the woman's soul for her to bear
throughout life.
Hope lingered on his mind as he waited for her response: Hope
that it would truly sink in to her core, and grant her the
longevity of peace that he had naively fought for.

There it was again, that infernal ticking. It was
growing louder in her ears and her agitation was getting deeper.
Yet in that moment that the man towered over her, she recognized
something. Something that was growing and growing, extending
past the further reach of her logical need to stay herself.
Between the boundaries of her remaining who she was and her
trying to figure out what she couldn't remember, she was driving
herself insane. Or had it already presided there before all of
this started? His words didn't fall upon deaf ears, yet
something snapped. The ticking stopped, but she didn't as she
suddenly quipped at him while the familiar red coloring filled
into her pearl colored locks and her eyes narrowed. "Just who in
the hell are you calling young one?! I'm as old as hell and you
know it!" That voice, filled with annoyance but a playful
annoyance at that. She went wide eyed as the red suddenly
vanished from her hair and she reeled back away from him,
falling to her rump only to curl up and reach up to grab her ear
rather roughly. "It isn't real. None of it's real. That's not
me. Stop.." She muttered, shaking her head furiously.
"It's easy for you to tell me not to fear it but you're not
constantly pestered by memories you know you're not suppose to
have! Memories that aren't your's.. But are.. I don't understand
and it needs to stop!" She yelled, nearly at her breaking point.
Yet it was like there was someone else overtaking her. Someone
else possessing her every nerve, every being, while it drove
away the pain and confusion. That ticking hadn't returned, but
it had left something in it's place. A soft humming in her ears
as she tried to recognize the song. Curling up further into
herself, her face buried in her knees while her arms tightly
wrapped around her legs. She didn't want to chide him, she
didn't want to get angry at him. No, he hadn't done anything to
her. Nothing but make his presence here on Crystalia. He hadn't
done anything to her personally, but she some how felt he had in
some way.
Shaking like a leaf beneath the pressures of her own self, she
bit into her lip as harshly as she could to keep herself in
reality. In this reality, not the one that was driving at her
like a semi out of control. Then, she recognized the humming in
her ears and something fell into place. It put all of the pieces
into place, the same song that she had sung in her past while
sitting in the tree, waiting for Blaze and Marluxia, quipping at
Omega playfully while she awaited Leigham and the others to go a
round of drinks or walk into battle. The red did not bleed back
into her hair, she knew that was only a side effect for the
moment, that would not happen again because this time.. She knew
she was not a mixture of anything. She was just a pure blooded
Crystalian. Slowly, the shaky voice began to leave in a muffled
tone from her curled up body. "Got a secret can you keep it,
sure this one you'll save.. Better lock it in your pocket,
takin' this one to the grave.. If I told you then I know you'll
not share what I've said, 'cause two can keep a secret.." Her
voice trailed off as she picked her head up, staring at the
ground lazily and in a daze. "If one of them is dead." The last
verse was sung in a whisper before she looked up at him.
That tear filled gaze was still slightly confused but not as
deeply as before. "Why're you here, Ni-ni?" She asked, that
broken voice still strained and tattered as she pulled herself
to her feet and brushed herself off. "You just happened here,
didn't you?" She questioned, her expression pained at the
pounding migraine bubbling to the surface of her head. A sigh
parted primrose flesh as she turned her soft gaze to him.
"You're worried, stop it. That's not how you are, and you know I
hate people worrying about me. Though I've remembered it all, in
a very painful manner, It's not like I forgot who I am right
now. Damn that woman.. She intentionally kept my memories from
me for a reason.." She growled the last words before she shook
her head and pressed her dainty digits to her forehead. "Trying
to attempt to give me of all people a peaceful life.. She is a
rather good hearted friend, but my reincarnation just isn't that
simple.. Memory is triggered by a lot of things.. You just
happened to be the final pull to the smoking gun." Turning to
face him, she quirked a brow over her bust. "How have you been?
Anything new? Or rather, should I say, kicked any ass lately?"
She grinned, that familiar and tell-tale sign of her fully being
aware of the woman she was. "And if you call me young one again,
I'll personally castrate you with a vengeance. I'm no where near
young and I wont have you getting that silver tongue with me
just because my body's young."

"Dont be coy... young one... This silver tongue might do you
good, and you might more than enjoy me using it" Adonis laughed
each word; each syllable a mockery of the truth beyond the
sounds, and as he fell to one knee before his long lost friend:
At least he would like to think of her as such, his eyes matched
the dance of unseen stars in the heavens above. "I am here
because I am, and you know that all too well... and dear lass, I
have no confusion or curiosity as to whether or not I should
be.. Whether by chance, or divine providence, or accidental
miscalculation, I am here, and have arrived in time to witness
you..." Pointing a finger at the woman's form; starting at her
feet, and ending at her face, Adonis continued. "Becoming a
woman again..." His laughing smile was broken by a whole hearted
laugh, and without a question as to why, he poked the youthful
elder right between the eyes and stood back up. Leaving a
slightly reddened imprint that faded without pain or
consequence.
"And just so we are clear... Again... Compared to me, you are
very young, and you know that M'lady... Just because you are
old, doesnt mean you arent still a newborn babe in comparison to
one such as I..... but nonetheless.. Please refrain from trying
out any torture techniques on my more sensitive of...
extremities... As I am quite certain that pain is not something
I would enjoy..." Continuing to smile; neither acknowledging or
denying the existence of anything else around him, Adonis began
to move to and fro from his standing location. One step forward,
a turn, and two steps back. One step to the left, two to the
right, a step back, and then a turn and step back to where he
began. A meaningless dance that left no trail or print in the
soil below, as he waited for the female to rise and no doubt
try: Key word "Try", to harm him or mockingly threaten him once
more.
There was no doubt to Adonis however strong his words, that he
was indeed there in that location for the sole purpose of
sparking Amaya's blaze of rebirth into overdrive. He had been
wandering the empty walkways and causeways of the universe; no
thought of his own form, or his emotions, and suddenly he was
pulled from the ether with wide eyed force, to witness a
youthful creature approach him near instantly. Possibly a
coincidence, perhaps an accident, Yeah, not likely in the grand
scale of the cosmos. He was there to witness and help as only he
could..
So he was there, and there he would be til again he was gone...

She scoffed deeply,"Becoming a woman again!? You shall
hold that tongue of your's! This body has progressed past it's
aging thank you very much!" She pouted, narrowing her eyes. "And
I'll have you know just because I'm a damn pure blood of my race
now doesn't mean that I still wont turn that familiar fuming red
for the sake of old times when I rip you a new one!" Rubbing at
her forehead, she huffed and turned to walk past him. "Well if
you're going to stick at my hip, I might as well fill you in.
Maggie is my mother of this life, unlike all my other lives, I
was prevented from knowing my past life's memories until it was
triggered. So, I had a fairly easy upbringing. Though I now have
all my knowledge again, my mother is still just that, my
mother.. And she's well aware of who I am, but has held her
tongue." Pushing her hands into her pockets, she gave a distant
yawn and turned a lazy eye to him. "I can't mutilate what's not
there!" Sticking out her tongue at him, she grinned while she
walked. She was back, there was no mistaking that. Yet sorrow
lingered in her expressions. Her husband, the last she saw of
him.. He was stark raving mad and blindly being lead by his
phoenix.
All the while she had quipped and annoyed the bird out of habit
and for entertainment. Where was he now? What was he doing? Had
he finally left himself to die? What was going to happen? She
had so many questions in her mind pertaining to Dems, but she
didn't voice them. Looking up at the sky of her home, she had a
faint smile to curl her lips. "Y'know, I'm suppose to run this
place.. And before, I ran it as a mixed blood.. And my children,
well.. My daughter Fayt, she went absolutely mad when she found
out the council was behind my death. Her, Dems, and Adel went
and slaughtered them all aside from Cherrie, who had no idea of
their actual intent. But now, I'm a pure blood.. And with that
in mind, I have a chance to bring back the pure crystalian race
among the people here. To better protect everyone, and to bring
Crystalia bak to the way it should be." She paused, looking to
him with that familiar bright smile of her's. "Promise you'll
come to visit again? I'll probably be busy working after a
little while of decompressing everything and weasling my way
around to getting some information, but I'll always make time
for an old coot friend."

"What isnt there? WHAT isnt THERE?" Feigning rage with an
effortless smile still painting his face, Adonis scowled half
heartedly at the woman now leading him forward. "Ill have you
know missy that this body comes fully equipped with what mortals
would call a perfect balance of muscle and curve" With a
gleaming wink that announced his obvious enjoyment in the
conversation, Adonis rose to his full height and strode along
with an air of pride perforating his perpetually peaceful form.
Nose in the air with a cocky grin on his face. "Now you... I
cant say I like the new look, but its a bit different for
sure... Not your usual bright and sanguine, but still not the
worst looking being on this or other planes."
Continuing to smile and walk with a sincere happiness about him,
Adonis allowed a casual look at his nearby friend as she talked,
and witnessed the deep confusion hidden beneath her new facade.
Something Adonis himself had once been at home harnessing and
hiding from those he knew. A confusion born of lost time, lost
friends, lost everything for the sake of a change. This change
though; unlike his many alterations of lifeforce, and essence,
was a true merging of all that Amaya could be. A pure blooded
Crystallian and a queen amongst the mortals who knew not her
identity. An odd combination no doubt, but one Adonis hoped
would bode well for her and all others of this world.
"You know me Amaya, Ill always be around and watching... A ghost
in the ether, watching those I care about and making sure their
life forces dont get too strung up in the confusion of Chaos...
Ill happily return any time you wish me to, and whenever you
wish to have a conversation with me... But I cant say Ill always
look the same" A slight laugh, hiding a deeper resentment for
his own situation, bore out of Adonis' mouth as he stopped in
place and looked to the sky above. "The void often chooses a
different view and form for me each time I return... but
hopefully you still recognize me should I leave and return
again"
There had been countless forms that Adonis had made his way
through over the years. From menacing beasts; grotesquely
disfigured warriors, to the most beautiful portraits of purity
and light, he had pretty much attempted it all in an effort to
gain true understanding of the cosmos and beyond. He had killed
in vain attempts to gain power; fought in wild feuds to earn
respect, warred over love, spilled blood over honor, and
eventually made his way to a fateful genocide in order to redeem
himself in the eyes of the nexus... and yet, he still endured
through it all, and lived as only he could. Aware of his past
lives, past mistakes, and comfortable with each of them in turn.
He had made peace with what he was long long ago, and making
peace with what he would become or where he would go next, was
the newest quest for the wandering ghost of a god and guardian.
What would come next was a mystery; what had just happened was a
test, and right now was but a flickering moment to be remembered
in the void he would eventually return to. Every moment was but
another that would pass without aging him, without granting him
a sense of worth and fulfillment, and yet each moment was worth
more than a thousand lifetimes in that dark and shallow womb of
immaterial essence. Here in the now, and here in the real, he
gained what he could while he could, and lived with those
thoughts while surrounded by the vast nothingness of the ether.
So it was with no effort at all that he took his eyes from the
heavens, planted them on the woman before him, and smiled a
genuine smile of pure happiness. He would stay as long as
possible and do what he could to help and produce for the people
of this world.. and when his time came to leave, he would do so
with a peaceful goodbye and a gentle touch. Never scarring the
world, and never leaving a footprint to be wondered over. He had
only his thoughts, his memories, and the memories others had of
him. He sincerely hoped that those he cared about still cared
for him, and thought of him as he did them. With respect, with
interest, and with some form of love.
