She felt his grip upon her and she giggled, her skin begain to
drop in temperature. This in turned caused the air temperature
around her to drop as well. The windows began to frost over and
she didn't even notice. " oh, rent, ha." she let out. " my house
is paid for" she thought of the man she was sold to and such and
smiled. He was pretty nice to her. He left everything to her. "
you can sleep in the bathtub if you want." she snickered out
jokingly, the temperature still dropping.

"Ha, so long as you promise not to use me as bathwater while I
sleep," James laughed, ignoring for the most part how the cold
seemed to nip at his water based form and cool the area around
them. How quaint, to have a place to stay and a job all in the
short span that he had found them. He felt almost human, except
for the chill of frost that crept up his arm and clung to the
air as the woman around him seemed to just release some of her
power into the air.
"And are you sure you do not need anything else from me? I would
feel bad taking your bathtub, or a bed, without giving you
something in return."

She continued to force the cold out without noticing. The
temperature around them was a bone chilling 23. Degrees F. She
would have not noticed if it wasn't for Harry who yelled at her.
" Braylin!!! FOCUS!!" Braylin jumped and shookmher head pulling
the cold back into her. " oh...oh my god, I am so sorry..." she
said and blushed. " I sometimes..forget.." she looked down.
" yeah, I am positive..."she whispered. Her mind was thinking
about plaster now that he said it. She blinked and forced the
thought from her mind. "oh, you would like it if I took a bath
with you" she smirked in a joking tone.

"Yeah, waking up with a woman deep inside me sounds absolutely
fantastic," James joked, "I would rather be ready if anything
like that were to happen... and possibly get some antifreeze so
I don't become a solid block of ice."
He laughed at that, still holding her hand even though it had
just started to thaw, and the look on his face could tell there
was no faking his interest. The woman was something else, and he
seemed only more intrigued by the fact that she quickly turned
the room cold when she broke concentration, and yet was still
able to keep her nature mostly to herself. It must take a lot of
willpower, like it took James lots of strength to not just drop
into a stream and make a break for the mother sea at times.

She giggled and snorted as she giggled to hard. " oh my' she
smiled and looked out noticing it was getting dark. " I really
am sorry about the whole freezing thing...it usually happens if
I get angry or really happy.." she smiled " I'll try to contain
myself as much as possible" she laughed and standing up. "it's
starting to get late" she smiled. " would you like to take the
quick way or slow way to the house?"
She shook her head at herself and sighed. She was getting close
really quickly to yet another complete stranger. She hoped this
one wouldn't get to attached like the last one"

James just simply slipped out of his chair, sure to not say a
word. He could tell she was worried about how they seemed to
bond so quickly, and rather than exacerbating it James simply
pulled the beauty's hand just hard enough to guide her out of
her chair. Then, after giving her a brief embrace with his free
hand, he whispered in her ear two simple enough words.
"surprise me."

She could feel his hand griping hers more as he guided her from
her own chair. " What a gentleman..." she though in her mind as
she stood and gave him a thankful smile. " thank you, darlin."
she giggled and glanced to Harry who gave her a look that she
knew as to be saying " mmhmm, see...just relax." she gave Harry
smile and walked out of the shoppe. She knew if they were living
together she would have to explain. " well, long will be nice to
catch you up on things." she smiled and turned to face the want
who would follow her home.

He had let her escape first, and after the jingle of change
against the table and a curt nod to the man who had so
graciously let them both in, he followed her into the open air.
It was fresh, crisp, and full of the coming night here, and
James could so easily tell how just past the blackening east
they had just missed a bit of a storm. He sighed, almost hoping
for it to return, but instead slipped his hand into Braylin's
and let her lead him onward...
"So," he asked, "How did you end up here in this sleepy little
city, anyway?"

She felt his watery flesh pressing against her cold flesh. "
Well, I sort of grew up near here. " she lied, she grew up here.
" My family....was...in a interesting business that I got forced
into. My dad sold things." she paused. The things he sold was
her mother, sisters and her body, and then ended up selling
Braylin to an older man, a very older man. " then I was sent
away to live with a...distant relative." she lied once more. " I
worked here and there for years in this town, then went to
college,p early, came back to take care of my relative.p who
later died." she continued to talk and walk, heading back
towards the school. " he left everything to me, including his
house." she allowed a smile pass her lips.
" what about yourself?"

James could tell she was lying, just by the way the subtle
changes her hand felt against his, but he did not press it.
There was some pain deep inside of this beauty that he had not
yet surfaced, and even though he was going to try to help wash
away this pain she held behind those eyes, there was no way
trying to send everything at her all at once would help... there
was just too much of it.
"I lived in a house, once. But that was a lifetime ago. My wife
left for another man, and my children who grew so fast outgrew a
relic like me... So I know what loneliness feels like."
